Buyers please read it all, I know it’s long but it will help you. Bought a 2017 Honda Type R from this so called main dealer garage or shall I call them main Stealers as I’m so much money out of pocket!! Traded in a beautiful condition 2017 Mercedes C Class which was straight on their forecourt. I didn’t have that Mercedes long as I’ve realised I just love a performance car! I was happy with the price given and the car I purchased did seem ok. Yet on the way home I noticed the air conditioning wasn’t working, even though they do a 100+ check (apparently). So then I’m thinking what else hasn’t been checked…? It was going in the next day to be paint corrected and ceramic coated as I take pride in my car and that’s when the person who details my cars highlighted all the issues and wouldn't touch the car as it was in such bad condition. This is a person who has worked on detailing cars for 30yrs. The damage was as follows: Resprayed door, petalled with stone chips (they can use a filler polish to disguise them) corrosion at the bottom of the wheel arch, wind deflectors had been superglued in as it was showing white (which I thought was polish from the handover) dents in the two front doors which you could see when you looked down the car and so on. Graham did however get the wheels fully refurbed and said two michelin had been fitted before I was coming up and that’s what gave me the confidence to travel so far for a car I was excited about getting. (250 miles) I am a realist and wasn’t expecting a brand new car but spending 20k I would of expected a better quality of product from a main dealer, this car was anything but and in my opinion shouldn’t be for sale on a main dealers forecourt! I’d spent money already on this car in good faith on how it was described on auto trader (excellent condition) I took it back the following day, 250 miles away so that 750 miles driven plus a train journey back. These cars are hard to come by hence why I travelled so far. There was no issues receiving my money back and Richard the sales guy was very sympathetic, as for the sales manager (not sure of his name) I really am surprised he is in that roll. No people skills, rude, unapologetic. Arrogant and his answer was I was happy when I took it away and it is 7 years old!! I shouldn’t have to check every part of the car buying from a so called main dealer!! He was not interested in giving any compensation (about £750 down) at all and basically said I didn’t have to travel to buy this car. The car was described as EXCELLENT so why wouldn’t I. I would really make sure you look over the car you’re thinking of buying from this dealer before handing over your hard earned money, whether that’s finance or cash. I will be following this up with a letter of complaint to the company, Honda headquarters and other sources.
