We needed a larger car and decided on a Volvo V70. This led us on a trawl around the area and a re-education on just how shady some car dealers can be. Eventually we saw a car in Hexham, sold at Peter Budden Specialist Cars And 4x4 by Peter Budden and his son Joe. What a pleasant surprise. Sure, there was the usual dealer banter ("beautiful car, just arrived, won't be here in a few days", funny as we had seen it on ebay for a good few weeks beforehand), but generally they were lovely to deal with. We wanted to part exchange our Toyota and Joe was very honest, but fair. We had higher offers, but against cars that weren't as nice so with a little negotiation we hit a price that everyone was happy with and left a deposit there and then. The next week, we went to collect the car and it was gleaming. He had fitted isofix for us as part of the agreement and whilst only one side was necessary, he had both sides fitted. And for the first time in history, we hopped in the car and didn't have to head straight for the petrol station, they had put enough diesel in it to get us home. Silly little things that cost very little but will have us recommend Peter & Joe Budden to friends and family. There is a cracked bit of plastic in the wing mirror which Joe said he will post out for us & a dashboard light keeps coming on, so we'll have to pop back and have it looked at. Not much of a hardship as my Mum wants a new car and I have suggested she see what Joe & Peter at Peter Budden Specialist Cars And 4x4 have in stock. A nice old fashioned car dealer, I recommended them.
