Worst Customer Experience EVER! 5 month update after initial purchase of car, since getting my car it's been a disaster, 5 months wait to get a courtesy car available, 2 bookings cancelled for repair work, a whole week of it sitting in their workshop with no work actually done, finally got a courtesy car, what a shambles, I wasn't shown round the courtesy car to check on condition, and found it to be dirty, full of bits of crisps and child's toy, feet marks all over back of front seats, had to spend time cleaning inside , So here's more on this very unpleasant ordeal, I purchased a car from vardy at Hillington in May 2022, i traded in my immaculate car in order to get a dog friendly car, and then the issues started, brakes were inadequate, issue with elec folding mirror, blown rear tail light cluster (condensation inside due to prior damage to bodywork which forced the lights out of alignment) So I had to return a few days later in order to get the brakes sorted, 2 days later same issue came back, was told they had cleaned them with pneumatic air hose, dust apparently, clearly not just dust, so I was told the pads were to replaced, Mirror was fixed but the issue with tail light cluster would turn out to be more problematic, they had to order in new light units, a date was agreed albeit several weeks after due to no courtesy cars available (telling in itself), I would tend to think if they took more care of cars they were bringing in to sell this would negate all their courtesy cars being unavailable, So as mentioned initially the date for lights and brakes to be fitted came (Monday), was told it would take 2 days, on afternoon of 2nd day I had to phone to ask when it was available to be picked up, was told by a fill in aftersales chap from their Motherwell branch that it hadn’t been fixed as their bodywork staff were unable to fix the panel and fit lights, he knew nothing about it but he would do his best to address the issue and get back to me, I waited and waited and had to phone up on Thursday afternoon to see what the holdup was, all I was told was they were short staffed so it was now Friday to be done, I was stunned, kept getting told “it’s a family business, we want the customer to have a great experience with high standards”, So another date was agreed on for a 3rd parts bodywork specialist to address the bodywork issue and fit lights, this was now several months on now from initial purchase due to need of courtesy car, That date came and I was hopeful all had been remedied. I went to pick the car up on the Friday after being without it for another full week only to find they had replaced the wrong half of the rear light clusters ( you couldn’t make this up) I wasn’t happy at all and said so as politely as I could, so another date for the correct lights to be fitted was set, finally November I get the car back, During this this time I left a review giving 1 star, was asked to email customer services and was also phoned by after sales with an offer of a free service and yrs warranty as a gesture albeit if I removed my 1 star review (Blackmail you ask ?), So after approx. 30 phone calls to Hillington and about 6 forty mile journeys and all the stress and hassle I considered their offer, I told them I had no faith in their offer judging on their issues from day 1, I’m not blaming any one person in particular , it doesn’t take an expert to say their whole after sales system is dreadful, And don’t hold your breath in their customer services team assisting you with any attempt at a realistic compensation ( for me it would have recompense for fuel and time wasted), I got a fob off from them saying the warranty/service were offered which I declined, you only need to take a look at reviews from other customers to relate horror stories of services etc, I know folk say its only bad reviews which people post but I review on Google quite often and the majority are positive reviews, So this is the worst review I’ve ever had to post, I now tell all friends and work colleagues this tale as I don’t want anyone else to go through this after sales hell and will do for many years to come,
So after I left a 1 star review for all of my trouble with this rubbish branch, I received a phone call from Sharon who is in after sale (I think) anyway after telling her all the.problems and mess up and lies that were told to me by various different employees all she said was that's in the past let's move on her attitude was we don't need to talk about it. So towards the end o informed her that I was taking my car to an Audi specialist too lool at it then she asked can we look at it first before Audi do which I found strange because they already had it in atleast twice. Sharon then proceeded to say that if I take it to them first that they would skim my discs at no charge but would not replace my brake pads and this only happen if I would remove my previous review but when I said NO that didn't go down well, then I said I will take it down after I have had the Audi dealer look at it and then Peter Vardy can have a look and if no fault is found I will place a new review then the reply I got from Sharon was the following, I am taking the deal off the table if your going to leave the review on because she said I was blackmailing them (LOL) so Sharon saying to me if I take my review down and let Peter Vardy look at it first and fix any problems that they find and when I said NO Sharon took the deal off the table is not blackmailing well I don't know what is.... Jeso this place just gets worse and worse, let's hope the branch manager looks into this and contacts me or even better Peter Vardy himself, I am free this Friday after 2pm for a.meetinf if you like lol lol as if any of that will ever happen. STAY CLEAR THE AFTER SALES AND THIS PLACE IS ROTTEN TO THE CORE WITH LIARS AMD FALSE PROMISES. Your lucky I ca t give yous -5 stars.

1 star is far too kind! Fairly major incompetence at every stage of the process! Car was bought online , told it would be delivered on a Wednesday to be told Wednesday afternoon that it was actually Thursday, managed to get a day unpaid leave for Thursday - no delivery. Car eventually arrived Friday morning. Poor communication from sales and handover, it was always myself chasing up. Car arrived and was instantly rejected: No Service history present (agreed it would be), Clutch slipping quite badly, broken headlight (completely missed on the MOT test that had supposedly been carried out the week before), a grinding / squeal noise from the rear of the car. It was also very obvious that the car had been repainted very badly with overspray everywhere (leads you to think it may have been in an accident?) the locking wheel bolts and carpets had been removed despite the salesman stating they are there (they were in the photos advertised!) There was also a "checklist" that arrived with the car, one item was GDPR related - remove previous owners information from sat nav etc, this had not been done but the box ticked. The list also stated that a valet had not been carried out and it was an agreed exception - not sure who agreed this but it was not me. There were also a few broken bits of interior trim and a very bad aroma of smoke inside. Took around 3 weeks for the car to be collected then the V5 didn't arrive so had to wait further weeks for that. Approx 8 weeks from the car being rejected to getting a refund. When the refund did eventually arrive it was missing the "holding fee" that was paid to secure the car. This was specifically agreed to be refunded but again, up to myself to chase and sort out. Very obvious failings in the organisational structure and basic communication. I estimate throughout the transaction I have phoned them around 60+ times and they have called me 3 or 4, always being promised that the "manager" will call you back. Having been in touch with customer service the short story is you get a "sorry" over email. No compensation or offer to try and make up for wasted annual and unpaid leave and 8 weeks with no car whilst they hold your money. Not even an offer to pay the road tax you are out of pocket for, for a car you don't want or own! That said, particular shout out to Lia in handover and Sharon in Customer service - the only ones to actually take some ownership and responsibility of the issue and try to rectify. To summarise - avoid at all costs.
