Called in to view a Mercedes CLA and found the sales staff very pushy, demanding to know upfront if I would do a deal today before I could check it out. Numerous stone chips on a car supposedly showroom condition. Said they’d touch them up but not good for a year old car at £31,500 car

Hi Alan, thanks for taking time to leave a review. Unfortunately it’s a shame we can not read reviews on potential customers prior to them visiting us that would be really beneficial in this case. You arrived today without any notice whilst we only had 2 staff on site who were both dealing with customers both of which bought today. We did explain this to you and you was extremely rude demanding to test drive and wanting a part exchange valuation within 5 minutes of arriving. I explained I was currently with someone but made you and your partner a coffee without a please or thank you from yourself. We then allowed you plenty of time to view the car and test drive. You spotted a few minor stone chips on our used 23 reg car which has covered 10k miles - Not a brand new car. We explained we could touch them in with the correct colour but explained the car was over 40k when new so you have to expect some chips on any used car. You then wanted to know what we could give you for your car and we explained our policy with part exchange prices is that we are happy to look into it and work something out if you are in a position to do a deal with us today. You could see we was busy and You was the one pushing us for a price and telling us you had places to be and that we was taking too long as we was trying to balance dealing with two customers who were buying cars and yourself. The test drive and odd stone chips didn’t put you off and you said you was ready to buy the car and do a deal if we could agree on price. You then told us to forget it when we explained your car had damage to the front bumper amongst various other marks on the wheels and bodywork when we was doing the valuation. Your car was around 19k retail and you told us you would not take less than 18k as someone had said it was worth that. Unfortunately we can not always agree a deal and your review is not a true reflection of what happened. I hope when you view cars at other garages you can be a bit nicer to the staff and be realistic on your part exchange. We was extremely pleasant to you allowing you to view the car and test drive, we could not have done any more than we did in my opinion. Good luck in your search for a new car. Bought a Mercedes E class from Pinnacle Cars and was extremely happy with the service provided. The car was sold with an extended warranty, 12 month mot and had just been serviced. Viewing a used car on my own I was cautious and had a lot of questions to the sales guys who were great.
