Purchased a vehicle 28/03/19 broke down the same day. In Reeds defence they did rectify the issue a blocked fuel filter. Very disappointing though to have occurred within hours. Subsequently discovered that break discs were well worn and needed replacing immediately(Not Illegal), despite sailing through the MOT with no advisories. This despite an earlier MOT 3 weeks earlier showing advisories for worn pads. Overall a very mixed experience leaving a biter taste for a 20K car, and not what I would have expected from their brand or other reviews.

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review, as a growing independent business, we take every customer experience on a case-by-case basis and will learn and improve from all good and bad encounters. We we were sorry to learn of the problem with the fuel filter but glad that we got it resolved quickly while on your trip to Devon. With regards to the brake pads, an MOT is a visual inspection, on a MOT test the minimum requirement for brake pads is 1.5mm so we would suggest advising on 2mm, advisory items give notice of things that will eventually need fixing on your car, but are not reasons to fail a test. Advisory notes are given at the discretion of the tester, and vary in importance dependent upon what they are for. We checked your break pads after 1000 miles of driving by yourself and we found them to be on 3.5mm which is why in this scenario we agreed they had lots of life left in them, we did however carry out a service for yourself. Literally never experienced such a bad customer service as I did at Reed Autos. My mistake was that i had finance in place with documentation completed, all i needed was a test drive. And from that point they did not seem interested, I was calling and chasing to book a test drive. My sales manager was very rude and expected me to fit his schedule, as he was to busy to show me the car within the first week of arranging all paperwork. Avoid!!! very unpleaseant experience, needless to say i have went to another dealer..

Reed autos were friendly and helpful from the second I arrived on site. Their prices are very fair and the sales team were extremely accommodating - they seemed to genuinely know a lot about the cars and pricing. They did amazing body work on my car after I had an accident and I would definitely use them again.

From walking in the door, I was greeted with a warm welcome. Very polite and friendly bunch of people. The car they showed me was ready to drive away and they even sorted all my finance out. 10/10 would recommend them.

This is the second car I have purchased from Reed Autos and same great service. The sales team were polite and courteous, obviously knew a lot about cars including my part exchange vehicle. they made the transaction pleasant by being personable and genuinely taking an interest in myself as a client rather than just a production line. Will us them again.

First impressions were that Reed Autos met the claims on their website in regards to being customer focused. Once money had changed hands and we had driven the vehicle off of the forecourt, we found out to our detriment this was not the case. We had an issue with the VW we purchased, which we hoped could have been resolved amicably but their Sales Manager just gave us the run around and then offered no solution. If your looking for a used vehicle I would not recommend spending your money here.

If I could give Reeds Autos zero stars then I would! Back in January I travelled from Devon to purchase a Smart Fortwo from Reed Autos. I had seen the car advertised on Auto Trader and in the photos it looked ok. However, I guess that alarm bells should have started ringing early on. The salesperson was very inexperienced and had only been with them for a week. He kept having to ‘pop out’ and find answers to my questions. First impressions of the car seemed ok but the light was fading and I had travelled a long way by train and bus. I acted in haste and bought the car. It drove ok back to Devon but the following day when I gave it a more thorough check over I discovered that it was in pretty poor condition. The bodywork had been wrapped in grey (it was originally white which was showing through in places) but I hadn’t been told this. There was no user handbook or tyre repair kit. This is important as the car doesn’t have a spare. If I’d had a flat on my journey back to Devon... at night I’d have been in big trouble! Also the alloy wheels were in poor condition and parts of the interior were shabby. The final straw was when the engine management light came on. I had bought warranty as none was included at point of sale. So I took the car to my local Bosch centre as advised by Reed Auto. The diagnosis was a camshaft problem. After numerous emails and phone calls at my time and expense I said that as it was still within 30 days I had the right to and I wanted to reject the car. Reed weren’t interested and simply referred me to a legal department. After a further period of time getting nowhere as soon as the V5 arrived I sold the car through ‘We Buy Any Car.com’. I lost a considerable amount of money but I just wanted it gone. In conclusion, I wouldn’t recommend buying any car from Reed Auto. I got my fingers burned. Once they have sold you a car they aren’t interested. The cars aren’t even cheap either! My experience has been deeply disappointing. :-(

Before we sell our cars, they are taken through our Professional Workshop and Bodyshop, where our Bosch Trained Technicians ensure the vehicle has no bodywork or mechanical issues. When buying a vehicle from Reed Autos, every customer is offered a 1 Month Complimentary Warranty, as well as the option to upgrade it to 6, 12 and 24 Months. Our cars are also priced very effectively and almost always come up as a ‘Great Deal’ online!
