Bought an x type jag at the end of June 2018 fromPrestige Motors Direct having been told that it had been serviced and had a full inspection. When I got it home noticed a few problems, air con not working rear parking sensors not working and more serious a leak of what appeared to be clear oily fluid from under the front of the vehicle. Was told by a mechanic friend that it appeared to be power steering fluid. Eventually got to take the vehicle back, they had it for several days and I was told that it was an oil seal that was leaking. During the time it was with them the vehicle used nearly half a tank of fuel and the auto gearbox was left in sports mode! Got the car home, the leak was still there, the car needs a new power steering cooler and is now being repaired at a Halfords Auto Centre, I’ve e mailed Prestige Motors and asked how such an obvious fault could not be detected, incompetence? Not yet had a reply. I wouldn’t trust anything they say.
