Bought a car from Prides Motorcars in January. It seems to be an honest motor from my fastidious inspection at our workshop afterwards. Very Happy with price and car.

Rachel at Prides Motorcars really did a great job of helping me make my decision to buy my little Mini. It was just the colour I wanted and had all the gadgets I was looking for. Very friendly couple who really like their jobs and nothing seems too much trouble. Hubby will be back for a Boxster soon as fell in love with Mike's!!
Purchasing a Vehicle from this trader has cost me a great deal of inconvenience and money. The car required immediate repairs due to safety concerns although being sold with a new mot, various other issues have required attention at significant cost..Should you consider investing your money with this firm a independent inspection would be well advised,

Firstly, may we just point out that this is the first time that we have been made aware of ANY alleged issues with your eight year old used Jaguar X Type, that you purchased from us in March of this year, now we are six months on??.... I am not sure what the ulterior motive is to this alleged 'review'. This considering the excellent relationship we had during the sales process, deem it now necessary, HALF A YEAR later of car use, to list faults with no basis or explaination. Allow me to present simple facts to all those reading this and looking to purchase a car from Prides Motorcars to show how far we go to ensure a quality purchase.. The car had a fully stamped service history book including a service we performed at time of sale. At mileages 10,658 - 26.090 - 38,483 - 47,878 - 55,080 and finally ourselves at 74,407. Prior to collection also a brand new MOT test was performed and passed, with no advisories, by an independent MOT testing station. The customer decided to purchase an extended parts and labour warranty through Warranties 2000 for 12 months for his peace of mind. Now, let us approach the 'points raised' by the gentleman as NONE of the alleged faults existed with the car when it left our premises. I actually have a copy (as does the customer) of the pre delivery inspection sheet (a check we do by an independent workshop on EVERY car we sell) with HIS SIGNATURE on it to confirm that we had checked the car over to the best of our abilities and that we was content to take delivery of the car. Two of the points raised, reference the door mechanism and crankshaft pulley, regrettably are synonymous design flaws of the X Type. We (if they had indeed failed months into ownership) could have repaired the door for £30 and the Tensioner Pulley £125 all inclusive. I am assuming that a known potential design fault with this model of car is our fault?... A split turbo pipe is a £10 part and due to heat and vibration, over time perishes. It is a wear and tear item.. I am unclear as to what faulty nuts are, surely if they are on the car, they are 'working'? The tyres obviously were not bald at time of sale - IT WOULD NOT HAVE PASSED AN MOT!!! Melted wiring loom?? I am unclear as to the meaning of this and why? The brakes operated correctly, again, had there been an issue - IT WOULD NOT HAVE PASSED AN MOT!! The gentleman had a test drive in the vehicle before purchase and was happy to make his buying decision at that tme with the standard of the vehicle. Copies of the MOT, Pre Delivery Inspection form, Service History, Service Invoice by us, Hpi Certificate are all available to view to any customer to show how comprehensively, personally and with upmost care, we prepare every car from £2,500 to £25,000 in exactly the same way. In the future when the customer decides to purchase again, another prestige brand car on a very very tight budget, it may be prudent to remember that general car maintenance is required to keep the car in top condition and functionality. If he is unhappy with spending money for prestige brand parts, perhaps a Ford or Vauxhall would be better suited to their pocket??..
Bought my car from these people, very helpful and friendly, I'm very happy with car, they are happy to help with any problems, would use Prides Motorcars again.
