Don't waste your precious time and money with this garage, I'm writing an honest and 100% review, I buy a car from RDM Direct and everything went far too wrong, I can't believe such a business that worst been still active, Lucky we didn't buy an expensive car, otherwise we would had serious trouble and ruin our life
Staff from RDM Direct Ltd in response to Please be serious, and avoid this garage
RDM Direct are disappointed to read your comments and the version of events listed. We feel your comments are a little harsh on the basis that the vehicle in question is in excess of 12 years old and the problem being relative to a heater fan. Before the vehicle was collected, we facilitated a timing belt change as a gesture of goodwill in addition to the vehicle being serviced and given a fresh 12 month MOT. The heater fan issue was first reported 4 months after collection and you had unfortunately declined the option to take a 12 month AA warranty, which would of covered the aforementioned problem. I welcome you to contact us and ask for a member of the management team to deal with your grievance and concern. Regards, RDM Direct
After scowling the Internet for months with a vague idea of what I wanted, I stumbled across a Ford Mondeo at RDM Direct. I live nearly 100 miles away from the dealership and was initially sceptical to travel such a distance for a car that’s seemingly fairly common. I initially checked their autotrader reviews which were encouraging; so I called up to enquire on a rough part exchange price. Upon calling I was greeted with a knowledgeable, calm individual called Duncan whom advised on a rough valuation which was a little less than what I hoped for (but isn’t that always the case). The following day I called prior to leaving, with Duncan advising me he’d reserve the vehicle whilst travelling over to the dealership- a nice touch and something I didn’t even ask. I arrived and was immediately greeted with a friendly smile and cup of coffee. I was given the freedom to look over the Mondeo at my own leisure without a salesman talking rubbish in my ear or breathing down my neck; how refreshing. An unaccompanied test drive was arranged with ease- in the meanwhile leaving duncan to inspect my car for an accurate price. The vehicle drove as to what I’d expected and was happy to buy. Maybe I’d been over critical on my part exchange over the phone- when it came to figures my part exchange was worth £200 more than the rough quotation over the phone!! A small deposit was placed, finance organised and a collection date agreed. The vehicle was collected 4 days later after being serviced and a new MOT (in addition to a dent / windscreen chip repair). Two months after collecting the mondeo, the drivers window ceased operation and a noisey wheel bearing had developed. I called up to advise of the problems with Duncan and arranged to bring the vehicle back a few days later with a courtesy car being provided FOC (great gesture). Both faults rectified without quibbling. The vehicle I bought was 8 years old- by no means new but new to me. Faults do occur and these guys stand by their cars; something I can wholeheartedly say I’ve never said before, about other local garages I’ve used. Reading through some of these other comments on this particular review website astounds me. These guys do not manufacture the cars and whether you like it or not as vehicles get older more faults occur. Did a fault occur on my mondeo? Yes. Did they repair it? Yes. - and that is what matters, they do not have a crystal ball to determine the future. I have since recommended two people to RDM, both with nothing but positive feedback on their approach to business and their customer service. 5-stars and keep up the good work.

RDM Direct have rude and aggressive staff when things don’t go their way. Car failed the MoT on a safety fault, garage bodged repair and tried to hide it from me. Luckily I spotted it! They then refused to hand my deposit back when I would not pay for the car. Been to DVSA and Trading standards and am now happy to report I have the deposit back! Please avoid these dishonest traders, go somewhere else.

Staff from RDM Direct Ltd in response to Awful service, worst ever I have seen
RDM Direct are disappointed to read your comments and the version of events listed. Whilst having our own workshop and technicians, RDM Direct do not have an MOT station. When necessary if at the point of sale the particular vehicle have less than 6 months MOT, a fresh 12 month MOT is completed at a totally independent garage, of which has no affiliation to ourselves. The vehicle at the subject of your unfounded comments is over 11 years old. Any MOT failure listed is a major safety defect, henceforth an immediate repair is necessary. The failure in question was relevant to a corroded outer sill (something that is apparent and expected on any vehicle surpassing 11 years in age). The remedy of such failure was to remove the section of outer sill, weld a plate over the affected area and skim/paint to make it more aesthetically pleasing. When it was suggested the above was not completed as listed and 'bodged', the opportunity was both offered and declined to view the repair being carried out as CCTV was present. We are totally transparent with regards to the preparation of our vehicles. You can in point of fact view any MOT information online via the DVLA website. This information includes: MOT Location, Test Date, Test Mileage, MOT Certificate Number, Any Advisories and Any Failures. RDM Direct offered the opportunity to take the vehicle to a different MOT station for a complete new MOT test, which was declined. RDM Direct subsequently emphasised the option to take it to a local MOT station of your choice, which again was declined. Once it was established the sale was not to be concluded the deposit was not refused; a time was arranged for you to meet the owner of the garage whereby a refund was successfully authorised. It was only after the refund was authorised did the slanderous comments ensue. These comments included the likes of reporting us to Trading Standards and the DVSA which we welcome. In summary, RDM Direct are very disheartened with the comments made. The vehicle did fail an MOT (which was not hidden in any way) and a subsequent repair was completed within the strict guidelines DVSA/VOSA set.

I've had my last 2 cars through this garage and can honestly say I do not have a bad work to say about them, or the cars I've bought. This latest car they even delivered for me as I live 10 minutes away when my son was ill. Parking sensors went wrong and they repaired them within warranty. See you next time guys, Holly x
I purchased a Saab 9-3 Turbo Edition from RDM Direct Ltd back in July. This is the first time I have purchased a car from a dealer and was very wary of spending nearly £4.600 on a car that was no longer in production. Within the first 24 hours there was fluid leaking from the steering rack and after contacting them they told me to take it straight back and they would replace it, they did this and gave me a courtesy car to use in the meantime, I got the car back within 5 days and they had also offered to respray the whole of the front bumper for me due to the fact it wasn't looking the best cosmetically. The second problem I had was that I could hear rattling noise coming from the engine when I revved it. I got a Saab specialist to look at it and he advised me that the cars dual mass flywheel was on its way out and it would cost me nearly £900 to fit a new one. As I had only had the car five weeks I called RDM expecting to get fobbed off and was prepared to take it to the small claims court if need be, I need not have worried, not only did they replace the dual mass flywheel but they put me a new clutch in at the same time. I am hoping this is the last thing to go wrong with this car. I only gave four stars due to the fact of having to keep driving back and forward to get the repairs done, but the fact they did not query the problem and had the car back and repaired it straight away speaks volumes for how this company is run. I would like to thank all the people I have dealt with at RDM and I have no reservations about buying another car from them in the future, the only thing to consider would be the warranty that is offered by the AA, i personally don't think it is worth the paper it is written on, but other than that keep up the good work.

Hi Lee, thank you for your kind words. We do try our best with all of our customers and in an ideal world cars would never fault but unfortunately they do. We would however like to stress the dual mass flywheel and clutch were replaced via your AA Warranty; during the course of the work being completed, internal defects were found within the flywheel and the claim was successfully authorised. We look forward to seeing you again in the future and don't forget our car sales customers now get discounted servicing at the RDM Service Centre!
Prior to purchasing car was assured that the vehicle would be given a new mot, serviced and checked in line with AA dealer guidelines. I was also told that any previous advisories would be repaired. Assuming this had been completed, I purchased the car and when I got home discovered one of the faults on the previous mot had not been repaired, and surprisingly was not on the new mot even thought it falls into the advisory category. So, 6 weeks since I bought the car, they have failed to order the part so I can get it fitted. It begs the question, did the garage who mot’d the car actually do it properly, did they actually service it and did they actually inspect it to AA standards......I think not
RDM Direct from RDM Direct Ltd in response to Mis truth and Poor After Sales
RDM Direct are sorry to read your comments. RDM Direct do not MOT vehicles at our service premises. We use local MOT stations for an independent opinion on the vehicle in question. Once an MOT has been completed the vehicle then goes to our workshop for any further service work and if an advisory is made- they are rectified, likewise if they fail. Our vehicles are prepared to an exceptional standard and we are an AA Approved garage. I welcome you to contact us and ask for a member of the management team to deal with your grievance and concern. Regards, RDM Direct
My daughter bought a car from RDM Direct and 26 days later it broke down (clutch). Rather than fixing it in Winchester, where the car was, they insisted on taking it back to Burton On Trent, fixed the slave cylinder but not the clutch, then did the clutch only when, in desperation, my daughter agreed to pay half. They then refused to bring the car back! Only when legal action was threatened did they return the car - leaving it virtually empty of fuel! They won’t respond to emails now. All this took over 3 weeks when it could and should’ve been fixed within 2 days maximum - no courtesy car either. You have been warned...!

Staff from RDM Direct Ltd in response to Utterly terrible aftersales care, beware
RDM Direct are disappointed to read your comments and the version of events listed. The vehicle suffered a mechanical failure of the clutch slave cylinder; which is unfortunately something that does happen without any warning. In mind of the distance of which you are located to ourselves we did obtain a diagnostics and subsequent quote to repair. The quote was substantial and the decision was made to complete the repair at our garage; recovery was arranged. Repairs were completed and road tests followed. Although the diagnostics and fault was relative to the slave cylinder, you desired to replace the clutch itself although not faulty; something we agreed to do at half than cost price, as a gesture of goodwill. RDM Direct regret the part failed however it was unforeseen and sporadic failure of an original part on a 10 year old vehicle, which was rectified in a timely manner. RDM Direct answered emails and every phone call throughout the repair process. We would of had a loan car available for use during the repair, however because you had a provisional license this was something we could not accommodate on this occasion. In summary we are very disappointed with your comments. The vehicle was collected, repaired and delivered back to you at no cost incursion, with the exception of a new clutch which we even contributed half towards although not at fault.
Car was very well presented, salesman were all lovely, 100% satisfied with RDM Direct Ltd.
When I purchased my Kia Sorento from RDM Direct back in January it had been nicely cleaned and was in excellent condition. The chap that I was dealing with was a big help! He was very informative and approachable and make the whole experience a pleasure. I would recommend this dealership to my friends and family.

In January, I purchased a Seat Leon from RDM Direct. It was clean and in good condition when I received it and the dealers were friendly and helpful but I did have some issues with the car in the beginning and I have had to make 6 trips back and forth to the dealership to get them resolved which is 40 miles away. Other than that they have been good and the car is okay now. I would recommend them.
