Last week of June part exchanged our 21 plate MG for a 22 plate Peugeot 3008 GT because of persistent problems with the wiper reservoir hose uncoupling. As soon as all the paperwork was completed and cash handed over we were informed there was only 1 key. When questioned the ‘salesman’ intimidated that Peugeot only like to supply 1 key these days anyway as it reduces the cost. We asked for them to swap the front and rear dash cams from the MG onto the Peugeot at a cost of £96. After picking the new car up and driving away the cameras weren’t operating and the very next morning the front camera fell off. It took 3 visits for them to get the cameras operating only to be told they hadn’t fitted them properly as they didn’t have the proper adhesive pads and the day they fitted them they were too busy. We ended up using a local locksmith supplying us with a spare key and fob to the cost of £170. In a conversation with the sales manager, who has extremely poor customer communication skills as he’s obviously passive aggressive to be basically told we’ve sold you the car now get lost. Also, the Peugeot was supposed to have had a 19 point check yet I had to fill the coolant, brake and oil reservoirs myself. My advice is find a dealership who treat customers with dignity and respect.

Please read reviews before you go to any dealership! Purchased a car (the situation was not ideal so I just needed something asap) within a week - check engine popped up, oiled needed top up, the car was making lots of noises. Phoned the dealership, salesman had no clue about warranty, service people were absolutely rude persistently telling me the car was checked, service was done everything was fine. Photos below are pictures of what they define as “fine”: the oil was like water and had metal bits in it (probably ruining the engine), the underneath cover was ruined by the oil leaking and clearly having issues before as unoriginal screws in different places were installed, the filters were never changed. The car is in absolute state! Because of the oil leakage the gearbox may need fixing too, so more money! Whoever part exchanged this car clearly knew and just wanted to get rid of it and Richard Hardie decided to sell it to whoever will take it without doing anything about it and unfortunately it was me! STAY AWAY FROM THEM!
Recent exchange of car due to personal circumstances. Jason was brilliant he was able to help me to find another car which was appropriate for my needs. He did all the car registration documents and car tax. The exchange was very smooth and ready for collection within a few days of purchase. Thank you.
My Partner and I bought a MG ZS limited edition from Richard Hardie Silverlink last year. Within 4 days there was a clunking sound, and when I rang back I was told to see how it goes!!!!! I spoke to the Ashington branch, who was more helpful, and then spoke to their GM or aftersales manager, as I have been told since. It needed new brake discs and they also did the strut top mount!!!! This did not work and it was back and forth over a few weeks until I eventually rejected the car. I was promised 3 years' worth of free servicing, floor mats, and a free MOT if I bought another car with them, As Ashington had been a lot better than Silverlink I give them the chance. This car had to go back, as all of the brake pads needed to be done, and 2 brake discs, which they did fix. I did ask for a letter at the time for the free servicing and was told that it would be put onto the system as this was the safer way (by Hannah who has left). I rang Craig (service manager) to book iot in for my service (who was there when I had all of my issues with the 1st car) and he said it wasn't on the system and that I would have to speak to Simon the sales manager. I rang and spoke to Simon, and his response was "I don't know why you have rang me" I explained Craig had told me to ring. I then asked who the new GM was to be told I could only speak to the aftersales manager, who was Craig, who I had just been on the phone to!!!!!!! Richard Hardie has just 2 customers, as my daughter is looking for a new car and I would have went back to them for my next car if this hadn't happened. I even took a service plan out with my 1st car with them, and instead of transferring this, I cancelled this due to the promises they haven't kept. They have a record of this too!!! I am now short of money, as I have had to pay for a service in one go, instead of monthly payments, which I would of done
A quick thank you to Jason. He came in on his day off to hand over the (nearly) new car. Car as described, price fair and attention to detail by staff excellent. I've seen some negative reviews but I guess it's down to the person you deal with. Very happy.

Was told over the phone a car i was buying was spotless after a 500+ mile roundtrip and a hotel stop over to see the car to find its dented and scratched i thought personally was a despicable act to do to someone who they knew the distance they was travelling to view the description was by the manager and he was less than apologetic on our arrival to view the lemon of a car. we left in disgust and 200 pounds light for the travel and hotel expenses needless to say do not trust these people it seems they try to sell substandard cars to people who are less than knowledgeable about a vehicles condition. dented scratched and just untidy i would be ashamed to pass it on to anyone but it is what it is a quick buck and customer from then on is on there own.

I personally had the worst customer experience at your Ashington Richard Hardie from Gary and Ross, and then this was further escalated with poor service from your Sales Director Ryan. At no point during my visit was it discussed that I would be signing a finance deal. I was told I was signing to put down a deposit to hold the car until I got my current car fixed. I had the full intention of buying the car, but in my time, when I was ready to drive it away. You really took the shine off buying a car, and forced me into completing it when I wasn't ready. I know full well that you could of unwound that deal and gave PSA the finance back that I didn't ask you to request. Worst people skills ever. I also know you will delete this post as you have done with all other complaints. Thanks for a 0/10 experience.
I thought buying my first car would be a hassle. Having just passed my test and having my Granda help me with little experience of his own I was expecting to get ripped off. Thankfully this wasn't the case and I now have a stunning reliable car. It was MOT'd, cleaned inside and out and scuff marks on the paintwork were fixed at no extra cost before I picked it up. I probably asked a load of stupid questions and didn't ask some important ones but I felt really valued at every time I spoke to this dealer. They even stayed open late so I could pick my car up at a time convenient for me. Excellent customer service all round.
