I want to share my experience in hopes of helping others make an informed decision. I arranged an appointment for a specific time, but was left waiting for 45 minutes before being seen—only when we got up to walk out the door did someone finally attend to me. The delay set the tone for an experience that left much to be desired. The sales assistant who eventually helped us was very pushy. He insisted that we take a test drive in one of their showcase cars and then urged us to put a deposit down on a car we hadn’t even seen, promising it would be transferred from another dealership. His approach felt more like a hard sell than genuine customer service. Furthermore, as we were about to pay for the deposit, they failed to provide us with the terms of the agreement. Instead of explaining the conditions or offering a clear contract, we were simply given a form indicating where to sign, leaving us without full knowledge of our obligations. When we finally received the new car, it was nothing like the one we had test driven. The vehicle had a noticeable chip in the center of the windscreen and handled markedly differently from the test drive model. These discrepancies raised serious concerns about the dealership’s transparency and reliability. Matters worsened when we attempted to back out of the deal. We were told that the deposit would not be refunded, despite another dealer's assurance that car dealers an obligation to return deposits if no unreasonable expenses have been incurred in preparing the vehicle for sale—a condition we clearly met. While I acknowledge that many customers might have positive experiences at this dealership, our experience was far from satisfactory. I urge potential buyers to exercise caution, particularly when being asked to commit to deposits over unseen cars. I also hope the business takes these lessons to heart and improves their service for future customers.

The car really is a bit of a shocker. Not only does it beep as I move from one road to the next it keeps getting the speed limit wrong and beeping and flashing while driving under the speed limit. It seems to beep and flash when I change lanes and again beep and flash and administer the brakes whilst driving in out of tight parking spaces in car parks. It is a very unpleasant vehicle to drive.

The whole experience started off fine, which it normally does when someone is trying to sell you an expensive car. However, it's the aftersales experience which has left me feeling that I will never buy another Hyundai as long as I live. In summary, in the 5 years we've had the car (Tucson), it has been taken to the garage numerous times for various issues, the most common one being severe problems with the spark plugs. They kept failing and they didn't know why. They even accused us at one point of putting the wrong fuel in the car. They still don't really know what the issue was, but it's out of warranty now so now it won't be covered. The icing on the cake has been that the exhaust has just split in two, not because of our fault, but according to a local garage 'due to poor quality, it snapped cleanly in half.' So out of warranty (by a month) we now need to pay over £600 for a new exhaust on a 5 year old car.

Re the spark plugs, if the issue started before the warranty ran out, it will still be covered after the warranty runs out, as long as you reported it before. Even if they say that they fixed it and it has reoccurred.

I had a highly disappointing experience with the service at the Hyundai dealership. The employee responsible for communication between the workshop and customers treated me dismissively, lacked knowledge, and displayed a complete lack of professionalism. My inquiries were often ignored, and the information I received was frequently incorrect. This caused me significant stress and frustration. The only person deserving of a positive mention is the manager Martyn Buckby.The company’s policy seems solely focused on profit and benefits for the company, with absolutely no benefits for the customer.

Just collected our new i20n line from Richmond southampton. The service from start to finish was first class. Maddy and Ali were so so helpful and very professional. There was no hard sell. And the coffee was great!!. This is our 3rd car from here. No problems recommending you guys to friends and family. Thanks again.

i20 has a windscreen wiper fault, earliest appointment 2 weeks away, That in it's self is bad enough, £75 just to diagnose fault, car taken in on Friday, fault confirmed that the wiper motor requires replacing, customer service quote for the cost of replacement motor £150 +Vat, plus fitting, ok. Then told that wiper motor cannot be fitted as they close in an hour, after a brief chat, they say they can fit it Saturday, OK. Then a phone call Saturday morning to say that we had been miss quoted, the Wiper Motor cost was actually £507.00 and car would not be back until Tuesday, this is unbelievable, who are they employing that make horrendous mistakes like this, this is unforgivable. I was unwilling to be taken for a ride by Richmond Hyundai, I asked not to carry out the repair after the outrageous miss quote and that I would be taking it else wear for repair. Also I told them the engine management light had come on, they cleared the fault, said it was an old error code, on asking what was the fault code, no answer, I also had the TPS light come on, they said it was a nail in the tyre which they claimed to have repaired, needless to say when I picked the car up at mid day today, the TPS light was still on. Our family have purchased 4 cars from Richmond Hyundai, needless to say we will not be returning after this appalling service and attitude towards it's customers.
