NEW “BEWARE OF THIS ROGUE SELLING DANGEROUS AND VERY UNSAFE CARS STAY CLEAR AND GO ELSEWHERE” Purchased a vehicle from this dealer on the 25/4/23 2012 Ford Mondeo. On purchasing the car i was advised a service had been carried out and it had a full years MOT on the car. I was given receipts for an oil change and oil filter that had been replaced. There where also brake pads and discs renewed on the vehicle. The vehicle was in great condition on the outside and inside. After around 8 months of purchasing the car which up until that point i had only driven 2100 miles in total. The car wasnt driven alot and was running very smooth until i noticed a knocking noise coming from the front end of the car. On checking underneath to see if anything had dropped down or was hanging loose i could not see anything until i looked at the back underneath at the back box of the exhaust. What i found where a pair of mole grips on the back box intself which i found very strange. I took it to a local garage who had a look underneath the car and noticed quite alot of corrosion. The felxi pipe from the front exhaust had corroded and came loose which was causing the noise. The mechanic welded the bracket as a quick fix. The mechanic also pointed out that there where alot of corrosion on the lower suspension arms on the rear and the tyres where wearing quite badly on the inside which was a tracking issue. He did say that he was unsure if the tyre repair centre would be able to remove the bolts to get to tracking which was the issue causing the tyres to wear. They told me that they would not be able to remove the bolts to adjust the tracking without the bolts burnt off due to the excessive corrosion. There was also Alot of welding work done previously done on the exhaust which is also in pretty bad shape. I had taken pictures of all the corrosion and tyes to see for yourself. I had went to apeak with the garage owner and explained to him that in the space of 8 months at only driving 2100 miles could not have caused that much corrosion resulting in the tyres wearing on the inside. If it wasnt for the flexi pipe breaking i would atill be driving the car with the issue and the tyres wearing completely unkowns to me and they could Have blown at anytime. (there where also tyres changedin a previous MOT in october 2022 for excessive wear on the side of the tyre) This was put to the owner of the garage who in his own words explained that this wasnt an MOT issue after i put it to him that how did a car pass an inspection with such bad corrosion. He completely dismissed my concerns and refused to offer any solution to the problem. He basically told me that “ that is how bolts have to be removed is by burning them off” and that it was not an MOT issue. My point is this. Stay well clear of this garage he is in this game to make a quick buck and has no intention or interest to help resolve the issue atall. Stay well clear this man is a Rogue and should not be allowed sell cars in such a state it is not only extremely frustrating but its down right dangerous. I will be reporting this to the DVSA and any other vehicle ombudsman services. STAY CLEAR OF THIS CONMAN!

I can’t recommend this garage enough.Super friendly,I dealt with Allan the owner of the garage, who gave me a really great deal, lovely cars and lovely person, you won’t be disappointed if you use this to buy or exchange your car, give them a visit.🚗
this Ltd Company is excellent in lying to the customers and covering up the car's history; so that you have knowledge of the cars you bought from them. Please stay away! I don't recommend this Riverbank Motor to anyone.

Jim b in response to Cheat, lie, ignorant car Seller!
I have bought a few cars from this place over the years and also so is my family and friends i highly recommend them to any person looking for a car. so i find this review highly unaccurate and sheer nonsense allen and the team have always been excellent and very friendly and nothing is an issue to them. A great independent run garage
Was looking for a while to find the right car for my wife. Fortunately we found it here. This is not a franchise where they just want to take all your cash. Riverbank motors is a small business that really wants to and gives great service. We had a small issue with the vehicle and it was fixed no questions asked. I would recommend this garage to anyone looking for a good car at a great price.

Bought a small runabout from Alan. Identified a serious fault within a few days which the dealer could not have been aware of. Spoke to Alan and he had the car inspected, replacement fuel tank ordered and fitted very swiftly....at quite an expense to him. I would use them again...no hesitation.

Went to look at the car back in July last year, advised that it comes with warranty for 3 months, but the purchase price would have to be over £1.5k for the warranty to be valid. Asked if I could take it for a test drive, but due to staff sickness that day it would leave no one in the office, so the answer was no. Almost immediately the car started having problems. Head lights would come on randomly when they wanted to, and wouldn't always switch off. Brakes didn't sound good, and was advised by independent garage that this car would have had the break issues for sometime, as the car dealership had apparently put the car through an MOT and service not long before I bought it, this should have been picked up. The boot of the car, where I spare wheel is kept, continued to fill with water, causing condensation inside the car. A short while later the sump needed replaced, and again advised that if the MOT and service had been done correctly then this would have been detected. Fortunately I was at the end of the street I live, Had it happened just 5 minutes later than I would have been on a very busy dual carriage way. I do hold my hands up, and realise I should not have bought the car when the request for a test drive was denied. However, my own idiocy buying the car, does not excuse the dealership from selling a car that most certainly wasn't fit for purpose, and certainly not safe.
I recently bought a car from this garage and i have to say they were excellent from the off as i wasnt sure on how the car buying game worked there sales man talking it all through with me then we went on a test drive and then headed back to garage to finish the deal excellent service from the guys and will return when i feel like changing thanks again for your help

We all know when buying second hand cars it's a risk. If lucky getting the good one is a bonus , and people get rid of theirs when things start to ho wrong... unfortunately I didn't. Bought a peugout 207cc from riverbank motor company. Got from Greenock to Largs and the coil pack played up. Managed to get to kilmarnock and got told this is what it was. The guy at garage did pay for this repair. And thank you for this... But. Week 2. realignment of steering wheel n wheels. New tyre At a cost of £170. Found the coil on driver side was the wrong coil and hadn't been fitted properly. Week 3. The front exhaust gave way. £91 Week 4-10. Car actually ran with minor hiccups. Slow puncture. No coolant. Engine overheating And of course the warranty runs out. And couple weeks later radiotor goes along with another coil, the non existent rear brake pads. Coolant leak due to corroded radiator. And the garage car now in, believes the head gasket too. Its still in garage awaiting repairs. I've been told by 1 garage it should never have passed an m o t, and been advised to contact VOSA. But they have a 3 month time period it's been nearly 4. But also to contact trading standards and ofcom.. I did call after the first coil n alignment but guy wasn't interested . I've texted this weekend to let him know current drama but no reply... So I'd recommend for any future customers to take a mechanic or ask AA and they will do a check up for £90. Which may seem a lot. But better than losing a couple of thousand on a crap car.

Bought a Mazda 6s Diesel for £3250 from Riverbank Motor Company. Car was faulty from day one, have had the car 6 months now and hardly had one free day's motoring without the engine management light & DPF coming on with reduced acceleration (Limp Mode), Back & forward with garage for first few months until was told "take it a vat registered garage to see if they can fix it, which i done at my own cost, issue still remains, As per Consumer rights act 2015 car not fit for purpose from day one, i requested refund. Now Garage will not answer any communication whatsoever, phone calls emails, letters nothing. Totally washed hands of my situation. Stay well clear as they do not care one bit. Also car was advertised on the website as having Bluetooth installed which it did not have. Terrible experience from this Garage.
