DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THESE COWBOYS. FROM SALES TO MANAGEMENT THROUGH TO GROUP MANAGEMENT THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE OR EMPATHY !!!!! 1star……if only you could leave zero ! What an experience…..we visited Riverside Doncaster on 15 June to view a secondhand VW Polo for our daughters 17th birthday which we agreed to purchase and then pick up at a later date of 1 July. This would allow some minor corrective works to be carried out. These included a small amount of paintwork, re-gassing of air conditioning, interior valet to remove some ceiling stains and a chip in the windscreen. Then 1 July came around and we picked up the car with our excited daughter to be greeted by the sales manger Shaun who simply gave us the keys and couldn’t get away quick enough. On our way home it was evident that apart from the paintwork non of the other works had been carried out. Once home I contacted Shaun to express my disappointment and was told ‘I was embarrassed to hand over the vehicle in that condition’….what a statement from the so called sales manager !!! The car went back for rectification and after re delivery everything seemed ok…..only for us to find after a couple of days that once again the air conditioning was hot. The car once again went in and again was delivered back supposedly rectified……again this was not the case. The car went in for a third time to have the condenser replaced and whilst this was being done we were advised a VW recall was needed and this had highlighted a problem with the steering angle sensor. Excuses after excuses followed with time scales being advised that they didn’t know how long parts would take. From purchasing the car on 17 June (3 months ago) we had problem after problem eventually being offered a refund or to wait for repair. Our daughter wanted to wait which we did reluctantly, however things finally came to a head when we had to involve the Head of Business Wesley Cole and then finally the General Manager Andrew Jackson as we were now at 20th September some 3 months plus since we purchased the car and we STILL didn’t have the car. We were again told that they couldn’t advise when the repair would be done and offered our money back plus £200 gesture of goodwill. We calculated that interest on the cash price plus unused tax amounted to c£130 meaning actually the gesture was £70 for all the inconvenience. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THESE COWBOYS. FROM SALES TO MANAGEMENT THROUGH TO GROUP MANAGEMENT THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE OR EMPATHY !!!!!

From the moment I walked into the showroom in October 2021 and met Richard Fisher, the service I've received from Riverside has been exemplary. He answered all my stupid questions, then he trusted me with the keys to a Volvo XC40 and allowed me to just take it out by myself to see if I liked it. When I placed the order, I received an honest estimate about delivery times and I was kept regularly informed about any delays. I collected my new car on Friday - later than originally anticipated, but that's through no fault of Riverside's - there'd already been a pandemic to contend with when I ordered it, then a war kicked off where they make some of the parts so frankly, knowing the delays being experienced by some folks I know who have been waiting for new cars (mostly german ones), it actually arrived quicker than I'd feared. That wasn't the only welcome surprise though - it was so worth the wait. The car is fantastic in every respect. Once it finally arrived, Richard took the time to talk me through the features of the car and explained all the add-on services at length (but when I didn't need the extra protections, he wasn't pushy at all). He even paired the car up with my mobile phone and talked me through the Volvo App. Oh, and I must give a shout out to Vicky too, who looked after me a few days ago when I called in whilst passing and Richard was out. Everyone there is lovely and really helpful, the coffee's great and the showroom spotless - an absolute credit to the industry.

Bought a car from this dealer in December 2020 had it delivered which had only 6miles of fuel left in tank (nearest petrol station 10miles away)salesman told me that he would sort something out nothing ever happened now his manager won’t talk to me about it 3 months on very poor service wouldn’t recommend buying a car here

Purchased a new V90 in December 2018 which came with a three-year service plan. When the car was serviced in November 2018 it became apparent that Riverside hadn't put the service plan on the Volvo system so I had to pay for the service. Riverside acknowledged that it was their error and that they would (a) update the Volvo database and (b) refund the cost of the service. That was 2nd December 2019 and it's now late January 2020 and I've no refund and no confirmation that they've updated the Volvo database.

Saw a Volvo XC60 for sale and enquired about it through the Riverside Motors Volvo website. No response whatsoever, so I went to the dealership to see the car a couple of days later. Was approached by the salesman who said that the aforementioned car was sold recently. Didn't really offer me any alternatives, and seemed very awkward and standoffish which made me feel uncomfortable. Immediately I went to another dealership instead where I was treated far better. As a result, Riverside Volvo in Doncaster lost in a circa £20k sale.
Saw a car that I ended up buying. On test drive there was a sticker on the dash was informed awaiting a specialised service to remove. When i went to collect (after supposed valet) not only were kiddies feet marks on the back of drivers seat the sticker was still there. Complained and had an email "asking me to phone" to sort it out. Not them phone ME to phone. The manager supposedly did phone me but have NO record of my phone receiving missed calls. Issues were resolved quickly.
