Roger Hotchkiss Car Sales have a great range of prices to choose from. Not pushy. left to test and look at car by myself. Been to a lot of garages and nice to find one pretty laid back. Did not expect a new car for my ten year old Astra - unlike a lot Of people. Does what I want. Thanks Guys
Extremely happy with our new car! Staff at Roger Hotchkiss Car Sales were very helpful!
This isn't the same Roger Hotchkiss Car Sales I bought my last car from! I was so disappointed to see the car in the flesh. Terrible condition versus the description. Wasted journey. No sign of Roger, was told he didn't have any involvement anymore, just his name on the door..........

Neil Welch from Roger Hotchkiss Car Sales in response to Never Again!
I’m sorry if the car you viewed didn’t meet with your expectations. We sell between 60-80 cars a month to many satisfied customers, but we are not infallible so occasionally mistakes will occur. We generally try to keep our adverts fairly vague when it comes to describing the condition of cars, as one person’s perfection is another’s average and so on. If you would like to contact me personally then do ring in ask to speak to Neil to discuss further.
Stay clear of Roger Hotchkiss Car Sales since roger himself has retired the new company are shocking my car has been back 5 times in a month and they refused to give me the name of the garage that has "done the work" there Salesman Neil has just basically after asking him questions about the car he has then turned round and said he is trying to not lose his rag with me when the car has had nothing but problems stay clear I wish someone had told me the same thing ....I am taking this further!
Neil Welch from Roger Hotchkiss Car Sales in response to Stay Clear
A very tricky customer. We struggled initially to find a developing wheel bearing noise which we then fixed once conclusively diagnosed. We also performed an AC regas before I (Neil the salesman) personally delivered the car to the customer with some extra fuel in as a gesture of good will. Car running beautifully but customer still complaining to us (not sure why?). Refund issued and the car re-MOTd and sold to another good customer of ours who is very happy with car. All very frustrating and bizarre.
Car exactly as described, was picked up from the station as my old car had died and so had to take the train, very easy transaction, and car comes with 1 month all round warranty, 12 months MOT and Full service history. Highly recommended.

I have bought several cars from Roger Hotchkiss Car Sales over the years. Roger has always been fair and honest with his valuations and part ex. Recently I bought a car from the dealership and Roger was not there. I dealt with the guy from Hawkstone motors. The car I bought was a cat 3 and I paid £1200 for it. A couple of months later the car was surplus to requirements so I returned and asked if they would take it back in part ex. They offered me £500 stating that because it was a cat 3 it wasn't worth much. That's funny because a couple of months earlier you was happy to sell it to me for nearly 3 times that amount.Since Hawkstone got involved here it's just about the money. Shame on you Roger for letting your dealership down in this way. I'll never buy another car from you again !!!!!!!!!!!

Staff from Roger Hotchkiss Car Sales in response to Buyer and seller Beware !!!
We are sorry you were not happy with the part exchange valuation of your car but strongly disagree with your summation of the way we do business and actually find it pretty offensive. To address this Astra deal specifically; you bought a car for £1200 (it was a category D vehicle as stated and declared, as such it was sold to you substantially cheaper than the market rate for an equivalent vehicle that was not on the register - around £700 less in fact). You then ran the vehicle for a few months adding mileage and an owner and wanted to return it as a part exchange. Given the extra miles/owner we would then have retailed it at £995. Yes we may have made £495 then (minus of course the 20% VAT we pay on any profit) so that's actually £396 pounds profit. But hold, we have to pay a valeter to get the car ready (£30) and photograph and advertise the vehicle (minimum £40). Oh, it needs a new tyre or perhaps a cv boot (£30 to be fair?). We have to pay a salesman to stand there and greet our customers (is this a free service?). Hold on, I forgot business rates, heat, light, insurance, trade plates, perhaps a bit of fuel for the car? Even without these additional items we're at £296 profit. Then we sell the car to this fictional buyer who pays our full price of £995 with no haggling whatsoever (where do we find these lovely people!. But wait, we're not done yet, we've warranted the car as we do with all our cars (a service I remember you used in fact when we were happy to fit new brakes to a Citroen you previously bought from us!). The new owner has rung up and the car has a rattly exhaust bracket. It turns out it needs a back box (say £70) with fitting (£40 fitting by out mechnic, who is someone else we pay to be here). So our £296 now stands at £186 profit. So in summary, yes sir, we do need to make some profit, but did we offer you too little in part exchange? No, in hindsight, taking into account the huge pressure on every piece of our stock to perform and justify its space on the Tarmac, I think we offered rather too much.
I have been driving and buying cars for over 40yrs and obviously have a lot of experience in dealing with car salesman and can honestly say that this dealership are up there with the best. They gave a fair valuation on my p/x and asked a fair price for the car I was interested in. No pomp no bull they were just honest and relaxed about the whole process. Faults found were fixed properly following the sale and the entire process was a pleasurable experience. I was so impressed that I took my daughter back the following month and she spent 10k on an audi and was treated with respect throughout the whole purchase process. Thanks to Neale and his colleagues I will be back for my next car purchase- however as this one is so good that may be some time away!
We travelled 70 miles in the view to purchasing a car - when we got there, the car would not start. We had various communications and phone calls and made an appointment so they knew we were going, but they hadn't bothered to check the car ove. We would definately not use this Roger Hotchkiss again. Sue.
Bought a Ford focus for around 7k.early in year Buying it was pretty easy and straight forward. A few weeks later the car developed a fault on the computer it stated service was required although it has been stated all was up to date .I was told to take it o a third party who reset he computer. A few days later it developed another fault ,it would not pull away on occasion and a noise could be heard on occasion. Rang the garage they told me to return the car .The mechanic checked it by driving down the road and declared no fault . I experienced the fault again a few days later I was asked to return the car .They kept the car over night I went to pick up the next day on arrival Roger hotchkiss stated he drove it home and it didn't do anything out of the ordinary he asked us to get in the car and go with him for a drive . On starting the car a noise was heard we pointed it out, at his stage it turned into a rather strange sit com style event as two of us could hear the noise as he continued to say nope can't hear a thing after a few minutes he accepted "oh yes I can hear a light noise" . On returning to the garage we stated we wanted the problems sorting .At this point we were informed the car was not his but a dealer who sells from his site??And he would have to speak with him when the guy came back from holiday. We were not happy with this he then offered a refund but as he took our old car in px we were not interested but just wanted it resolved . Raised voices from both sides followed and a total lack of respect for his customer was evident very strange behaviour as he kept wondering off around the garage with us following .Eventually he agreed to extend warranty until the car was checked by he dealer who was selling it although this would legally be the case anyway. We went away a few days later we were involved in a accident and he car was written off. My experience of his dealership was it states Roger hotchkiss car sales but should in my opinion state some of the cars are being sold on the site by other dealers. As a trader he should not shout , berate, take for fools his customers. On occasion it sunk to farcical. If your not happy they were quick to offer a refund not that easy if you handed over a car as px or taken out a loan so unless its a cash purchase with no px and you are happy to take a cheque the offer is pointless. I felt the customer service was poor to the point of not taking complaint seriously and mechanics ridiculing your complaint. I also felt mechanics were brought out in to reception area in order to out number the customer and could be construeded by some as subtle intimidation. I would not recommend, I would not use again and lesson learnt which could have e been extremely costly Purchased another car from another main dealer similar price and no hassle .
Absolutely terrible! Do not buy from these. Had the car for 2 weeks and it broke down. They got it working, then 5 months later the car had completely broken. Spent over £1000 having it repaired but it still isn't working. Roger Hotchkiss Car Sales are refusing to refund or fix the car, so taking them to court.
