Having purchased a £4000 car I returned home to find the passenger window did not work phoned and was agreed it would be fixed. I waited a few weeks for callback, none came so rang and was told to come in that Saturday morning. When I arrived I was told sorry we forgot to ring they sent the wrong part but we will fix it, that was over 3 weeks ago!! Terrible after service.
Went to view a car today looked around it took it for test drive nothing mentioned about the poor paint on the bonnet, cracked number plates, squeaking wipers, but agreed finance for full asking price for the car was just waiting on invoice from dealer to finance company to be paid out. I rang Mark who claimed he at a car auction my finance company had spoken to Mark direct to agree a sale then when I phoned he claims there was miss communication and the car had infact been sold to a cash buyer the same day he even did this over text message. VERY POOR COMPANY WITH POOR EXCUSES IF CAR WAS SOLD THEN WHY DID HE AGREE A SALE WITH MY FINANCE COMPANY. ********BEWARE..........ONLY WORTH A CASH SALE ON THE DAY*************

So even when we don't sell customers cars we get a bad review. I'm afraid this is a difficult industry lots of people come viewing cars then say we are going to think about it. Our cars are very competitive on price and sell within days of being advertised. It's not possible to save a car without a deposit due to our fast turn over . The last 2 posts both wanted to buy our cars. The cars both represented value for hence their disappointment. It's all to easy to change your mind and without a deposit we can't hold vehicles. Unfortunately we have held cars in the past only for people drop out. Peoples idea of second hand cars vary . A minor stone chip on the passenger side near tax disc not mentioned at mot can constitute a £674 window screen, to me it just needed a Windowscreen repair costing £25 tyres with 5.5 mm of tread in centre but shoulders worn still have life in a specially when not advised at mot, we cannot reduce vehicles by a £1000 as we are already very competitive, our prices prove this and the speed they sell at speaks volumes. so sere apologies to those who missed out on the new cars. Your reviews are welcome. But at the end of the day your angry not because you were not willing to commit at viewing. The same thing happened to me . Recently when I went to view a car from a landrover garage, I said I'd think about it , went the next day to buy it. They said it was sold. Yes I was angry did I write a bad review no . I never put down a deposit . Remember deposits are refundable but show you are genuine . Regards Mark, in a very tough industry where pleasing everyone if near impossible.
2008 BMW 330d coupe (58 reg) 69,000 miles. Reviews have to be usually taken with a pinch of salt as you only tend to read negative but sadly in this case, the running trend is correct. After speaking with a gentleman called Mark, I asked about the above vehicle to get an idea if making the 340 mile round trip for was worth it. I quote "the car is auction grade 2" 1 being reserved for brand new/almost new vehicles. So on arrival, I found the car actually had 70,900 miles on the clock, probably to meet under 70k miles search criteria on auto trader (only speculation, maybe Route 66 can address this). The car also had some minor and major faults Cracked windscreen (£670 +VAT auto glass) Front tyres worn outer edges (£167 each) Broken front number plate. (Few pounds) Grubby interior (20 mins with bucket & cloth) So, I negotiated the deal considering the above faults, called back the following day (at Marks request) and placed a deposit on the vehicle to secure till the following morning (Monday) 3 hours later I receive the below by TEXT message. Hi John , have to give my apologies I've had to withdraw the 330 from sale due a gentleman who had previously offered a price on the car came in and paid full asking price. Luckily we hadn't taken the £250 deposit from yourself .....I wish you all the best in your search for another vehicle. I hope you appreciate that the difference of£1000 is hard to refuse Regards Mark Very unprofessional on 2 accounts. Clearly Route 66 Lincs can't be trusted once a deal has been agreed and secondly, to reply by text message is pretty cowardly. On a positive note, Route 66 Lincs are very polite and do not go in for the pushy hard sale. Be very careful when dealing with this company if you are traveling to see a vehicle. You could be out of pocket if you try and pay anything other than the full asking price for the said vehicle. Screen shots and copies of the advert can happily be provided and I'd welcome a response to this from Route 66 Lincs
Bought a ford fiesta from here for £4750 about 5 weeks ago and have had problems with it from the start have spent way over £600 trying to repair at a FORD dealership and they were disgusted with what they found. Have contacted route 66 lincs since and said he split the bill 50/50 which he has not done and was extremely abusive and bragging he has 1 million pound and that he would not even fix my car which he messed up. He seemed find it funny when I didn't have a penny to my name to fIx it as I spent it all on the car. Trading standards are now involved as I found out the car was dangerous to be driven and he also misled me claiming the car had run flat tires which they didn't. If you were thinking about buying from here don't because its nothing but trouble and as the other reviews show too. AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP!

To the 18 year old lad who wrote this review about the Ford Fiesta you bought for £4750 , we inspected the car sent it for MOT. You sent it for a service at a main dealer being paid for by your dad. They said it needed a new fan belt and had a water leak dripping from a plastic pipe. You also bough tyres from a main dealer. I advised I would pay for repairs, but not by ford due to them charging £100 per hour. They told you it wasn't safe to drive because the fan belt was worn. You refused to remove it or drive it to a reasonable priced garage, were abusive . I replied well if I had million pounds I wouldn't take my car and pay main dealer prices. You went ahead with the work after we advised we wouldn't pay ford prices. No warranty company will. Note to all people reading the fiesta review. Please understand this is an 18 year old boy who's dad bought this car for him. He acted unprofessional was rude abusive was going to come and beat me up. I sold a lovely little Fiesta Zetec S. This is a difficult job unfortunately you cannot please everybody. We may have a few bad reviews, but then we do sell over a thousand cars a year . Shame more good reviews are not given. People only take the time when upset to give a review. Usually trying to try and destroy our reputation.
I read all the reviews of Route 66 Lincs before I set out from the Midlands to view a Porsche Boxster. Nearly 6 weeks down the line I can report that I'm very pleased with all aspects of the transaction. No problems at all with the Boxster and bought it a very competitive price. Found Route 66 Lincs to be honest and fair. Also whilst we were there on a Saturday afternoon it lookd like at least 3 other cars were sold, says it all to me really. Treat the negative reviews with significant scepticism.
Bought a car for £1600 and within the month it has packed in and needs a new starter motor. At this point I rand up Route 66 Lincs and they did nothing about this, poor customer service, spending that much on a car, you would expect them if it packed in within the first month to do something about it. It didn't have a warranty but any decent person would understand.
Bought a Vauxhall Astra vxr cash from Route 66 and the car had been tampered with from the header tank by putting a pipe on it so when that water overheated it went under the car. Head gasket went on the car this then caused massive other problems with the engine, I only had the car 24 hours, I then contacted the garage and he was very abusive when I said trading standards are involved. This went on for two months, the threats to me, eventually after threatening to take him court he paid me but he tried to get away with every little thing. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS USED CAR DEALER, he lied to me and sold me a broken car. I understand he owns the MOT test centre at the front of his sales room.

We are shocked at last review, not only did we spend £700 trying to fix the car we drove 200 miles gave him full cash refund. Never got spare key. Extra owner on car. You can't please everyone no matter what you do. Blatant attempt to destroy the reputation of our company, we even paid his losses from having time off work to take car to garage plus £10 for phone calls. Even when you do the right thing. People run you down we have sold over 800 cars over the last year. Most people only write a review when they are unhappy, please remember this, We have a policy that if people are not happy with a car we give a full refund. Kind Regards, Mark.
Spotted a c4 Citroen at this car dealers on Tuesday last week, managed to get over on the Wednesday and spoke to Mark who promised he would hold for us until 10am wed morning, we travelled over from Lincoln the car was exactly as described, Mark let us take the car out for a test drive check it over at our leisure offered us a great price on our part exchange we noticed the spare wheel was missing and while we sorted the deal and paperwork out Mark had the wheel put in the car in all we where sorted in an hour and drove away in our new car, the car is great exactly what we where looking for, great guy great selection of cars easy transaction.
False advertising. Not a genuine car advert. They misled about the mileage and car specifications. Not prestige as he portrays. The office where this dealership is was dingy looking and cheap with a pointless american theme. The guy who I spoke to knows nothing about cars and could not answer any questions asked. As I said it was advertised at a different mileage. Do not trust him or Route 66 Lincs.
Absolute shambles of a company, agreed a deal on a Audi A5, I arranged finance and was told vehicle was taken off sale and was due to collect 4 days later, called the company to explain what time I would be there to pick up the car only to be to told the car has been sold the same day to a cash buyer, please be aware of this company extremely untrustworthy.
