We visited Roy Tolley the main dealer for our car and we were contacted by the Customer Service Manager whom advised that they could not replicate the issue. The Manager advised that they had sent out a young bloke and a middle aged bloke and an older guy and none of them could replicate the issue. He insinuated that it was our driving style (I don't see how age is related to a fault with stop start function - maybe the button doesn't like certain people - according to Roy Tolley). The Manager said that there was nothing that could be done. The car continues to be a danger to anyone driving or a passenger in the car and the garage did not accept responsibility for the fault or attempt to put it right under warranty. We provided proof that we were not the only MG drivers with the same issues regarding the stop / start. When we collected the car the Customer Service Manager sent someone else out to give us the car and tell us that nothing could be done and when we asked to speak to him, he came out and started having an argument with us and would not provide a report that stated the car was safe to drive. We believe that this car was faulty from new. The dealership did not seem to know a lot about MG's and what the current faults are that other MG owners are having with the same make and model. The dealership was not helpful they sent us on our way with a faulty car. The issues were not resolved quickly and effectively they are still outstanding 2 months later. The vehicle looks good but has had multiple issues I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone or the local dealer. Terrible car and Terrible customer service. I would not recommend the garage and the customer service was the worst I have ever experienced to have an argument with a customer in front of other customers within the dealership.
