Advertised a 2015 Mercedes SL for £21k and included APR from 6.9% only to inform me that on because of the age and value of this car, APR starts at 8.9, NOT 6.9% When I suggested the ad was clickbait, 'Rory' decided unprofessional sarcasm was the best way to deal with a customer. COWBOYS & CONMEN - AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

***AVOID AT ALL COSTS*** - DON’T SAY YOU HAVEN’T BEEN WARNED!!! Firstly I will start by saying that although I appreciate there are lots of decent reviews on here, and sales of decent cars, I urge you to focus on the bad reviews, as if something goes wrong with your car, you’ve got a rocky ride ahead! We have had the WORST experience that has caused so much stress and only just come to an end after 8 months (May 2024) We bought a car from RS Cars and took out finance through a compnay they use, Northridge Finance. The car came to a grinding halt 8 weeks after we bought it. The car had a 3 month warranty (which we now know isn’t worth the paper it is written on - when you buy a car whether new or second hand you have the same rights and they are liable to sort any issues out up to 6 months after purchase as standard) The AA were called out and we were told that it looked like the fan belt had snapped, which by RS cars own admittance is a fairly common issue and easily rectified. Under their terms if that car had any issues, we were meant to get it towed back to them at our own cost (£150) and to replace the belt was £80 so rather than have all the hassle of arranging the car to be towed from Blackpool to Sandbach, we simply got the belt replaced at our own cost in the hope that it would get us up and running again and so as not to bother RS with what seemed to be a minor repair. On replacing the belt, the mechanic found that the old fan belt was trapped in the crankshaft pulley and therefore did not attempt to start the car - at which point we returned the car to RS cars at a cost of £150 to ourselves. We had several email exchanges with RS (I'm not sure who I was speaking to as they all seem to share a generic gmail email address) but they said that due to the fact we had replaced the fan belt ourselves that we had voided the warranty. RS cars had an independent inspection done on the car and a report was produced - it turned out that not only had the fan belt snapped, but the timing chain (belt) had snapped and the engine had suffered complete engine failure. Approximate cost of a replacement engine - £4000. Basically RS cars denied any responsibility and basically left us paying just under £800 a month for the car and insurance, for a car that we have not had or seen for the last 8 months (it was left on their property as I refused to take it back from them in the interim) - they seemed more concerned about when we were going to get the car off their property than the situation we were in! Not once did the MD come forward and ever speak to us at any point in the above. In the mean time we had to buy another car for cash of £11,000 as we couldn’t not get finance due to this one being outstanding. The finance company (equally poorly rated on google) did not respond to any correspondence and have taken 8 months to part reimburse us and reverse the transaction - it has been a nightmare to say the least and pretty much a full time job trying to sort it all out. The motor ombudsman cannot get involved as RS Car sales are not an accredited sales outlet with them. We contacted the the financial Ombudsman, but by the time they had responded (3 months after complaint) we had already been forced to go legal at a cost of £1800 for a letter to be sent to them, to try and get the finance company to support us and look at our case. We ended up spending another £455 to take the finance company to a small claims court which eventually forced them into responding to our claim and settling for an amount where we are still £4000 out of pocket. In a way it turned out better that we had the car on finance rather than buying it from RS as a cash purchase as eventually we have had the backup of the finance company who technically own the vehicle, I dread to think what would have happened if we had bought it for cash direct. Only this week we sent RS cars 2 emails as we had property to collect from the car on their land, and wanted to give them their plates, spare key fob and V5 back - no surprise, no response, so we had to drive up on the off chance and collect the stuff ourselves. I am sure RS will have a smart answer to all of the above - I have seen the way they converse with people, and respond to feedback. Their standard responses to negative feedback seems to be a ‘copy and paste’ job, saying: 'This is a fake review from someone who has been requested to leave a review on behalf of an aggrieved friend. The friend purchased a car, experienced a fault, car was collected and repaired ( customer given an option of a refund). Customer then collected the car which is fault free and has gone on a campaign of encouraging people to leave poor reviews against a business that fixed his car, a car he is happy with, just to spite the company. Rather pathetic.’ Either that or they sign off their response with the name ‘R Soul’ - very professional. So in a nut shell, my advice is - Go somewhere else!

I had read the reviews but thought my experience would be different. It wasn’t and now I’m out of pocket with a car that’s causing all sorts of issues and running out of places to turn to. Rory and his band of hooligans do not care about anything once they’ve received the money and when they realise they’re in the wrong they resort to bullying and aggressive tactics.
I saw a car online. I enquired and had a response within a few minutes via email. I asked one question which was the make or break question for the purchase. Luckily the car had the full history and I went ahead. It was driven down to me free of charge the very next day having sent the money. I must admit after having just over £70,000 leave my account and no car to show for it I started to panic having got a bit over excited in my haste to buy. Luckily the car turned up around 8am the next day which was great as it was before heading into the office. I honestly can't fault the process. No nonsense, no BS, no lengthy back and forwards. Very simple and to the point. I personally cannot stand visiting main dealers and find the sales staff in them to be quite jumped up and condescending. Rory at RS was just direct and to the point. I personally liked that.
DO NOT BUY FROM THESE GUYS. Bought what I thought was a nice car but after 4 weeks drive train fault. Spoke to these guys and told I could take it to a garage and they would pay £60/hr for labour ( they said this was the national average. You can look this up) I took it to the no1 independent garage in the country Stourbridge Automotive and they told me if it’s less than 90 days old any garage is expected to cover all costs. I said I would pay the extra charges above £60, more than reasonable. Sent them the bill with 3 faults cleared which were there in the background before I bought the car so they must have just cleared the warning light and sold it as good. Now it’s all sorts of reasons not to pay( not authorised, over the top, no faults found even though they are clearly stated on bill) And if the car you’re looking at has the full BMW msport pro body kit £2500 it’s probably a cheap knockoff as I’ve discovered. As soon as you buy the car they bombard you everyday with texts to leave a good review. I had the feeling Rory would weasel out of paying after the first email, 2 hrs labour contribution of £120 is all I wanted CANT REITERATE ENOUGH… BUY ELSEWHERE
I was looking for a very long time to find the right car. It was probably 5th car i'd seen before buying this one. I was very impressed with the video and pictures on the website. I opted for delivery as I have a very busy schedule. The Q5 arrived a couple days after and I was very impressed. So far so good!
