Viewed a bmw, basically use a cheap I’ll-fitting body kit and cheap replica alloys which overhang the inner tyres. Be careful dealing with S James Prestige.

Seen a car I liked online, asked S James Prestige some questions over the phone as I’m quite picky with cars and know what I want. I asked if it was a genuine performance bmw, upgraded at bmw, they said yes, it since been made known they order replica bodywork and wheels and for them to cars and sell as m performance. I booked flights to pick up my new car, a few days before the salesman decided to remove the wheels off my car and sell them to someone else, so when I arrived to collect my new car I had to pay £200 for wheels that would get me home and the new wheels would be sent to my home address. After 3 weeks the new wheels arrived. After paying to get the tyres fitted, the tyre is smaller than the rim so, to me, it seems I need a bigger tyre or smaller rim, but the salesman said it’s the correct size and all the cars they sell have the rim sticking out further than the tyre at the front! If my wheels were on the car that I paid for when I collected it I would have seen this and never committed to buying as it looks terrible. They offered no help, once they had my money all care was gone. Quality of workmanship on the genuine replica m performance fitting is questionable, if you want genuine upgraded cars, look somewhere else, these are replicas, cheap imitations sold at genuine prices. Avoid.

My experience with S James Prestige was totally positive nothing like a couple of the reviews on here. The buying experience was superb they pointed out several details they would rectify before sale of the vehicle and they did them all. Went back the following day for my wife to try and nothing was too much trouble. They supplied a copy of the HPI report and there was a transferable warranty with the car. The slippery warranty company would not transfer the warranty as it had gone through a dealer (autoguard / AXA i will do no business with you in the future) i contacted S James there was no problem at all they provided a new premium warranty at their expense no arguments just sorted it. This to me is a measure of the company the sale had gone through they had my cash at this point i had had the car over a week and there was no hint of them trying to wriggle out of it. The car was at a very competitive pric one very satisfied customer thanks Tom.

Picked up my new car from SJ Prestige recently and had an excellent experience. The sale was smooth and easy going, plus a hiccup with a car I had intended to part-ex was sorted even when they really didn't have to help me. Highly recommended, and the car itself is beautiful.
I bought a bmw 350d, after viewing the car unprepared the team agreed to rectify any minor issues and spec the car cosmetically as I requested. The test drive was great - as the sales reps was the least pushy and probably most honest I have ever encountered. I spoke to the mechanic, sales team and even the director all of whom were really helpful and forthcoming. I have bought several used cars so recognising honesty and frankness comes from experience. In short the cars are quality, the staff are top class and I would certainly go back to saint James prestige. If you have any concerns I would talk to them directly. Top notch!

These tried to sell me a car with outstanding finance. I was ready to go and buy this car out right, hpi checked it to find it had outstanding finance when I asked why they said that’s how they buy and sell them and that the finance would be cleared within 48 hours of me handing over £20,000. (Fishy) when I asked if they would buy my car with outstanding finance (which it didnt) bassicaly asking if the shoe was on the other foot would they be happy to buy my car the way they sell there cars. They replied not if I couldn’t prove finance had been payed off. If you ask me I wouldn’t buy a car from somebody who thinks it’s one rule for one and one for another

You are correct to be concerned, it is ILLEGAL to sell a car with outstanding finance and this should have been disclosed to you at the time of the sale.

Outstanding finance with dealerships like this is NOT an issue! Dealers can’t afford to purchase every car on their forecourt, they put the cars on finance and then, when purchased by joe public, the finance will be paid off. You can always request confirmation of this. Whoever responded to your review stating ‘it’s illegal’ is completely wrong and clearly has no idea!!! I will be collecting my car from S James next week and this, like many off the cars I’ve previously bought (from other dealers) have had outstanding finance, if you HPI Check them. With the HPI check, you will find the finance company details, phone number and reference number. Call them and they will clarify and explain what happens with dealers like this. On a final note, if this was a private sale with outstanding finance then yes, I would walk away!!

Hi, You are actually an idiot if you think this is unacceptable. Fact of the matter is almost 99% of car businesses in the uk use some form of stocking loan for their forecourt stock. To be fair if this is how you behave giving small businesses negative reviews because you don’t understand the business model. They are point blank better off without your business.
