Hi, The Service was poor, Chris who I was dealing with, had a golf game so we agreed to travel up all the way from S.Wales to Scunthorpe - 230+ miles!...I was a bit early so we took a look around the car before Chris got there. There were finger food marks on the side of the inside of the door! There were some chips on the car (nothing major)! The back of front passenger seats had small rip marks when i mentioned that to Chris he said he never seen that before... I asked him the week before to valet and check the seats he replied its all fine - lie!! Can't believe that he belatedly lied - I hate lairs! Am a honest pleasant person - bloody hate lairs! The engine... hadn't been cleaned... sooo dusty and seemed like he didnt even open the hood oon the 520d bmw for £20,495 sale price! Come on that price you for a car you expect it to spotless and cleaned throughly! I had to get chris also clean the boot as it hadnt been hoovered as per the pictures on autotrader and saveonusedcars.co.uk. Also had to get him to clean the food finger marks and the crap of the engine... when i was there Sun 21.08.16. I think thats just awful to be honest cos you do not expect to get that crappy level of service especially when I am buying a car for that value! He didnt seem interested, this Chris guy. Also the aircon doesnt blow of cold air... you would'nt check that normally as it was a cold day at that time of day, you expect that to work! Also I noticed a decent size chip on the windscreen of the car on the left side of the car eye of the passenger side!! All this should have been advised when I was buying the car - let the buy be aware! All in all I can say with a shadow of a doubt awful shit service and I dont think i'd use you again. I will tell all friends and family and oythers to stay away from saveonusedcars.co.uk and avoid like the plague! ONE STAR TOO MANY! Why isn't there a minus star option? Shaun feel free to give me a ring mate!
I decided to take a chance having read the poor reviews, this was a mistake and a waste of my time and whatever the cost was to do the 80 mile round trip. I went to have a look at a Landrover Freelander 2 and having asked some basic questions via email like is the leather ok and having been told that it was you can understand my annoyance when I discovered that in fact there was a rip in the passenger side seat, the salesman's response seemed to be 'so what'. At this point I left. Overall I was not impressed with this dealer, all of the salesmen I saw were untidy which actually seems about right for the type of dealership is it. There was no customer parking, I actually had to park in an adjacent premises and walk. I suggest unless you are desperate for poor service you should avoid this dealership (Save On Used Cars) like the plague.
Shaun Mullen from Save On Used Cars in response to Mr Hughes
Dear Mr Hughes I am disappointed to read your review on the Freelander and discussed the vehicle, which has since sold, with the party that bought it in and carried out the review. The rip in the leather was a minor tear, and was an honest oversight as it had not been noticed upon appraisal. I apologise for this oversight Mr Hughes, however the repair was minor and could have been applied if required as part of the sales agreement. The parking is at times an issue, however we sell in excess of 100 cars a month, and do get very busy, as such at times parking can be problematic and we are trying to address this. Apologies that you had to use the neighboring business for parking. As for the service, I was not present but my staff carry themselves professionally as far as I am aware, however I will review whom the salesperson was and address accordingly. I sincerely hope you had success in finding a Freelander Mr Hughes, and wish you a good week. Regards, Shaun
I had arranged photographs and called to pay a deposit then they sell it right out from under my nose I'm glad I never did business with them.
Shaun Mullen from Save On Used Cars in response to Steve
Dear Steve, I am sorry to read your review and reiterate the apology we provided to you when the vehicle you were interested in sold. In this instance there were two parties interested in purchasing the vehicle in question, with two sales personnel involved. Whilst images were being supplied, over the course of a number of communications between ourselves, a party came in and discussed the vehicle with another salesman, test drove and paid outright for the vehicle. Sorry we did not meet your expectation in this instance Steve. Thanks and regards Shaun
Went to view a vehicle that was described as superb throughout and also excellent condition. We travelled from Birmingham to view and every panel on the vehicle had scratches through the paint to the bare metal and one front wing obviously been scratched for a while as there was rust showing. The windscreen was damaged and the interior had damage to door cards and the dash. This was a 64 plate vehicle described as superb throughout! Don't take their online adverts for what they say as they are dishonest! Avoid!!!
Shaun Mullen from Save On Used Cars in response to Tyler
Dear Tyler Please can you call me on 01724 854482 to discuss as we aim to describe all our cars accurately and I am interested to understand which vehicle this was so that I can discuss with the sales team to a) validate the concerns raised, and b) ensure that all cars are accurately described. I must say I am surprised that the vehicle, a 64 plate, was not accurately described as it serves no business purpose to misdescribe, as ultimately this leads to no sale, lost time, disappointment and negative feedback. I can only offer our sincere apologies if you felt the service was not what is should have been nor the car described. Thanks and regards Shaun
I bought a Ford Kunga from this dealership back in April, had no issues up to now and the service was very good. The car is in really good condition and I couldn't argue with the price! I would definitely recommend Save On Used Card in Scunthorpe.

I bought a Mitsubishi colt from this dealer, great value, and friendly helpful staff, the car is super and I will definitely buy from them again, . they are not pushy, a good buying experience, thanks .
Having just purchased a vehicle from this dealership, a Ford S max. I was very pleased with their professional attitude to their customers. How smooth every thing went thank you again I had a few cars in my time and dealt with numerous garages, only twice have I praised garages. This saveonusedcars are the second garage that I needed to praise I would be certainly happy to deal again with this establishment and their sales team The vehicle I am very delighted to have purchased from them I do not normally write reviews but when I feel they deserve recognition I feel it is well deserved.
Avoid this car dealer. I bought a landrover discovery off this garage who put a years mot on two days later it wouldnt start so I paid to get it towed to a landrover specialist garage because the warranty given covers pretty much nothing and they said it was in no way shape of form fit for use on the road, so after long arguments and me threatening to take them to trading standards got my money back. Be warned not a trustworthy garage in my opinion with a questionable mot centre.
My review for Save On Used Cars. We went up to Scunthorpe all the way from London to see the car. We had a nice conversation with one of the sellers (the father) who agreed an offer. We returned the following week with our mechanic and the drove the car. The uncle whispered something to the young man and suddenly the previous offer agreed was no longer valid and they were asking for £200 more on a £13,000K deal and withdrew the other little perks! We said to call the dad and they made excuses "oh he's in Spain and not reachable". This was pure nonsense as far as I care. This sort of behaviour has certainly left a bad taste in the mouth on what would have otherwise been a very pleasant purchase. They took advantage of knowing we drove up a second time and done a u-turn on what was agreed. BEAWARE - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Avoid Save On Used Cars at all costs!! I bought a Ford S-Max from them and on the day of collection my wife a 11 month old daughter stopped for some lunch and the car wouldn't start I had it recovered and was assured the problem would be fixed. 4 days later I was told it was ready to collect and. When asked what it was they told me they'd driven it around for a few days and it was fine. The next issue was the steering wrack failing whilst my wife and 3 young children were in the car after paying for a engineers report it concluded the steering wrack was faulty at the point of sale and shouldn't be driven on the road at all.the car was returned again all this within 25 days of owning it oh and the ongoing faulty ignition problem I was left without a car for 3 weeks whilst they refused to pay the finance company back the after sales were a disgrace and I'm currently reporting them to trading standards. The car is now back up for sale at £500 more than the original asking price Ford S-Max RO09 EXU
David Hopton from Save On Used Cars in response to G Shaw
Unfortunately the S-Max sold to Mr Shaw did develop a problem, of which has now been rectified Ford. At time of sale we were not aware of any issues, nor would we sell a vehicle with issues as amongst the varying legalities involved, it is simply not good for business and ultimately costs us post sale, both financially and in goodwill / customer relations. When the original breakage occurred, we collected the vehicle and when the second incident occurred, we again collected the vehicle. Whilst awaiting a decision on whether rejection was to occur, we obviously repaired the steering rack and Mr Shaw was informed we would do this, alongside full review of the vehicle at Ford Scunthorpe - all repairs applied were to be applied with no cost to Mr Shaw as expected. In terms of refusing to pay back the finance company, as Mr Shaw is aware, it was not a simple matter of settlement and we worked with the finance company and Mr Shaw, to this end, on the monetary side in order to ensure any buy back/settlement was done in accordance with the requirements of the terms of finance. In conclusion, the deal was reversed as per Mr Shaw's rights, and we sought to find alternative offering but were unfortunately unable to supply one that met with the requirements in place. I do very much appreciate Mr Shaw's issue as I to am a family man, and to this end I offer, as I did at the time during post sale discussions and the conclusion of deal reversal, my sincerest apologies. I wish Mr Shaw the very best in the future. Regards, Shaun
