Needs must… We bought a very expensive low mileage (7,908 miles) automatic Toyota Aygo from SDM-Group Falkirk for my wife to ferry me backwards and forwards to hospital every day. The car had a new MOT and allegedly a full service, but turned it it only had a basic intermediary service. Less than three months since delivery the engine management lights came on indicating faulty oxygen sensors. However, the car has only done 1,000 miles (900 of them on motorways) since delivery but the front disc brakes make a grating noise and are worn out rendering the car unusable. Now SDM-Group Falkirk are willing to look at the car but informed me they will charge me for replacing the oxygen sensors and brakes and say I only had one month warranty and didn’t buy an extended one… what happened to consumer rights of 3 to 6 months warranty!! Warranty or not, the brakes shouldn’t be worn out after 1,000 miles if it had a full service as promised. SDM informed me the brakes now are worn out due to wear and tear… how on earth is that possible! I requested confirmation if the brakes are checked prior to delivery, they replied with some scribble on back of a job sheet, which I take with a pinch of salt almost unreadable nonsense saying the brakes were 20% worn… Maybe they meant 20% left! All this is unnecessarily stressful and not something we expect from a large dealer. We’ll be taking the car to have the brakes checked elsewhere and get an independent report. Please be very cautious if you go there.
HYUNDAI FALKIRK DAMAGED MY CAR! I put my car in for a repair at Hyundai Falkirk, when I picked the vehicle up it was obvious there was a major problem with the clutch/gearbox (unrelated to work I had asked them to undertake) When I left the vehicle with them there was NO ISSUES and it was in perfect working order. I returned and reported the fault to Steven a sales assistant, who agreed there was a problem after trying to select gear I was told to come back on Monday when a technician could look at it,that’s when my nightmare began. I was given a health check when work was being done and no issue were raised by Craig Fowler the technician. So naturally I asked how my vehicle has been left basically broken, and not the way I left it,no one can answer,no one is interested in trying to help and Hyundai Falkirk are refusing to fix the damage that the technician has done. In fact they are refusing to touch my vehicle now at all, leaving me with no transport and I now have to find a trustworthy garage to undertake repairs. It is my belief that Hyundai has damaged my vehicle and are taking no responsibility whatsoever. Today I had the misfortune of Dealing with Lisa Aitken,a receptionist. One of the most ignorant, unfriendly unhelpful people I have ever met. Twice Lisa aitken cut me off on the phone, then when I picked my keys up Lisa Aitken ended up screaming at me to leave, extremely unprofessional on Lisa Aitkens behalf it was humiliating and embarrassing and quite clear Lisa Aitken is not qualified for dealing with the public. As she aggressively marched me to the front door, like some kind of prison officer, she screamed at me again GET OUT AND DONT COME BACK. This is not how I expect to be treated as a loyal paying customer and was flabbergasted by Lisa Aitkens scary behaviour and attitude. Overall I’m disgusted that my car has been damaged and no one cares. Hyundai Falkirk,Craig Fowler and Lisa Aitken SHAME ON YOU

While idly browsing SDM Falkirk, I came across the previous reviews of SDM, and was absolutely flabbergasted. I don't question the previous reviewers' experiences, but, given my own experience over several years of buying cars there, (Toyota) having them serviced there, and, (unfortunately!), having to use the accident repair service, I can only echo the sentiments of the most recent reviewer. Not once, have I had a negative experience. Irrespective of the sector used, I have always been met with highly friendly professionalism, efficiency, and readiness to accommodate me as their customer. In relation to car sales in particular, I always appreciated the relaxed,i informative but not all pushy approach of the sales staff. My only regret is that I haven't posted reviews for SDM before, but,on seeing what I consider to be an unfairly disproportionate ratio of negative to positive reviews, i felt a responsibility to redress the balance a bit more fairly by summarising my many positive experiences over several years.

I have to completely disagree with previous ratings. After having many cars from other dealerships SDM are definitely the best and most reliable company I have ever dealt with. From picking up my new car and Aftersales for servicing and MOT cannot fault. They done everything in there power to help me and my wife. shocked at an overall rating of 1.6 star. Normally don't put reviews down but this is very unfair.
As a repeat customer their service now is a terrible, computer says no attitude, not willing to help with a warranty issue, even to look the vehicle for 10 minutes to see what the issue was. Will it be going back with my next Hilux order.

I bought a year old Hilux and found the salesman extremely difficult to contact or for him to respond to my calls and emails. When I collected the vehicle there was a large crack in the windscreen which to be honest I was at a loss as to how the SDM people could possibly not have known about it. My only conclusion is that they did know about it but because of the cost of replacement, they were hoping that I would drive away without noticing it and be liable for the replacement. In the end, I had to fight for many weeks before they finally and very reluctantly paid for the replacement. I also found after taking possession of the vehicle that it was missing a jack and toolkit, as well as various minor scratches and a missing screw from the bonnet guard. None of which would you expect from an approved Toyota. Their overall attitude towards any problem with the vehicle was that it was certainly not their problem, but mine. I am still waiting for a jack and toolkit. I cant understand how a fantastic company like Toyota have such a crowd of gangsters representing their brand!

I agree with the other reviewer - I have a car from SDM Falkirk and customer service is dreadful and unprofessional.

I am currently the market for a new car. After a recent manufacturer's safety recall, the service dept at SDM Ladysmill tried to 'convince me' to let them carry out unnecessary work. They made it very difficult an inconvenient for me to pick up the car. This rang a few alarm bells and convinced me that ownership of a new car bought from them may not be a pleasant experience in the long term.
