After just passing my test I went to Sherwood Hall Motors on Chesterfield Road to look for my very first car. I was so excited. I had seen a few cars else where but nothing that caught my eye. I saw a car that I loved and in my price range. Took it for a test drive and fell in love. I got my partner to come with me when I signed the documents to make sure everything was legit since I was new at this. There was nothing written regarding warranty but when we asked Neil he just jotted it down on the contract '1 month mechanical warranty'. Also when discussing the cars past mot's and services there were no advisories what so ever. Anyway, after going away with my car, after not even a week I started to get problems with it. The electronic window on far side was not working and a petrol leak. So I took it back to Neil who said he couldn't do anything because i only had a mechanical warranty and my issues weren't mechanical. Rubbish. I took my partner with me to discuss the issues and Neil got very aggressive with us and too be honest I was frightened so I just left. I got my issues fixed myself costing me extra. And when my MOT was due 6 months later this ended up costing me £600 due to an endless list of problems. I wanted to take it further with Sherwood Hall Garage but the whole situation just put me off. I guess I'll just take it as a life lesson.

If you believe the positive reviews for Sherwood Hall Garage, you were born yesterday. I bought a car from the oily guy. Constant problems with an issue that he promised had been fixed. It hadn't. I took it back for him to finally fix it and he put me off saying it had to go away for repair and would take a while. I then got a voicemail saying he would return my money and a cheque would arrive within two weeks. I wish I had recorded the voicemail. In the meantime, he DUMPED IT ON A STREET!! I then got a fine through the post from the DVLA for failing to dispose of a car correctly. To this day, I do not know what happened to the car. This is a true story. You have been warned!! When I attempted a small claims court claim, his "legal team" got every attempt thrown out. I could not get a solicitor to take the case on I am afraid. I have written my £1,000 off as a bad experience (yes it was a budget car when I was skint). I seek solace in the fact that Karma will bite him back. He got aggressive with me in front of my child. Never ever buy a car from this man. He openly admitted to me when gloating, that he buys duff cars on eBay and flips them to "muppets" after covering problems up. I have owned over a dozen cars and never felt the need to take to forums about any of them.

Recently purchased a car from this garage, I was attended Neil who was very professional and welcoming, I was invited to inspect the chosen car at my leisure and to take it for a drive, the car was well presented and as described and although the car had a valid MoT I was adviced that the car would be sold with a twelve months ticket One of the reasons to buy from Sherwood Hall Motors (Chesterfield Rd) apart from the quality of the goods on offer was the relax, no pushy salesman that is often associated with car sales business I'm a very happy customer and based on my experience I would certainly recommend Sherwood Hall (Chesterfield Rd) car sales Thank you Neil
