I live in USA, and Paul took advantage of me and sold me faulty defender with no MOT since 2015 (he claimed that Mot was up to date). The truck had not brakes, missing ALL seatbets, missing spare tire (spare tire was present at the time of purchase, bad radiator, bad transmission, bad paint work, tons of electrical issues. He also installed wrongfully some led spots light . Do not buy from Paul . Tons of bad reviews from his previous businesses he owed. Dont do business with Paul he is liar,, and cannot be trusted.

Simms & Taylor doesn't care about people's safety one bit he ripped me and my partner off for £1200 all he's interested in is money sold us a car that apparently had 12 months mot and was having a starter motor fitted before we collected. We got about 4 days out of the car before the starter motor went and a massive diesel leak he sold us this unsafe car with a 2 month old child the and we very nearly had a serious crash with a lorry as the car cut out doing 60mph on a dual carriageway...I hope karma bites you.
Bought a van from Simms & Taylor mid April travelling down from fife Scotland, van looked ok in pics so decided to go for it,First impression was couple of more dents than the pics and described, took it for test drive felt straight away that the brakes need done, manger Paul said yeah came up on mot they will need done in the nxt few months🤥 Needed done now but thought not the end of the world some brake pads, drove it home great van felt good well did for first month and a half then funny noises coming from engine, thought it was heat shield on exhaust got it checked nothing,But on fri there it went into limp mode, never a good thing,2 garages later and a auto spark still nothing but Renault diagnosis is the turbo is gone 😡😡😡that's the turbo,4new tyres, front and back brake pads what a joke 3 month warranty just ran out,try and contact them shock thereby have stopped trading, no phone no email no website 😂😂😂😂absolute joke

Same here bought a van on Easter weekend was ok after I put brakes front n back 4 new tyres now the turbo has just packed in try and phone them its dead web site dead email dead.
Bought a car 2nd march 2017, and to date I have actually had possession of it for 29 days ... they have had it the rest of time. Fobbed me off big time told me they have put new engine in car but they haven't and now they have ceased trading... I presume waiting a few weeks then will open up under a new name!! I have 2 small boys and they gave me the car back this time with no power in it and a cracked windscreen and no bottom seal so highly illegal and dangerous. and its still not fixed. So if they re-open and paul simms is there AVOID or you are wasting your money

You are absolutely correct , there new trading name is house of kustom, this information is accessible via company house on google.
It all started perfect. The young male salesman, keiran, was very helpful and polite during the sale of a 2004 plate Vauxhall corsa, which I bought for my fiance for her birthday. Keiran fully understood that I am in the army so I could only collect the car as and when possible due to training deployments or if I had planned periods off work. I would have given them a good review at this point. Once I moved the car off their premises, bearing in mind they had put the car through an MOT which resulted in a pass, the car developed a number of faults. Faults which would most definitely result as a failure on the MOT. After just 1 week of legally owning the car, I returned the car with a list of faults on what I found wrong with the car. With the car being under warranty, they happily accepted to repair the faults and that I would have to wait a week before myself or my fiance could collect the car. However, a couple of weeks pass and I heard nothing about the repairs being carried out. After I ring up to inform them I was going skiing for a week, with work, they still had no update on the repairs. This was 4 weeks at this point in which they had my vehicle with no progress on repairs. Upon myself returning from my ski trip, I receive a call off them stating my car was ready for collection. As I arrive to collect the car, none of the original faults which I informed them about had been repaired and they had cracked the windscreen on the car, must have been a good 8-9 inch crack. They informed me they would repair the faults, again, and that I would have to wait yet another week. That is now 6 weeks with no progress on the repairs. After the extra week they mentioned, I finally receive a phone call saying the car was repaired and I could collect the car. Upon arriving at their showroom, the young lad, keiran, informed me that they rung the wrong person and that my car was still not ready to collect. But I had to wait yet another week, that's 8 weeks! After feeling as though I've been messed around with this sale I ask for a refund, a phone call to trading standards informed me of my rights to a refund, only to be told I need to speak to the manager, Paul, making me take extra days off from work to travel over to try and resolve this matter. During this conversation with the manager, he informed me that my rights were wrong and that he has certain rights to adhere to. Basically he was refusing my rights to a refund. He did not come across aggressive in any way, remained calm and civil during our conversation. After another phone call to trading standards, to inform them of this matter, they informed me to try again with the refund in a face to face conversation but also reading out my rights stating the consumer rights act 2015. And yet he still refused the refund, after sending letters stating the problems with the car and my rights for a refund, he replied with a letter dated before I even had any contact with them about any potential sale. After a reply to his letter stating I would accept any alternative means of refund, whether it's a different car with the same value or a slightly different price value, I receive a letter stating that they had ceased trading! Leaving me with a car that me or my fiance no longer want and with faults that would still deem the car unsafe for road use due to the safety of other road users and pedestrians, as well as my family. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! If you want good value for money, take your money elsewhere!

I bought a Vauxhall Insignia from here in February. it was clean and in good shape but had some marks on it that the dealer said that he would sort and he didn't. The other downsides are that the break pads were an advisory on the mot and new got replaced and that you cant really test drive the car as they don't let you take it off their premises. The car is decent, I have had no issues with it but I think the attitudes of the salesmen could be better and the cars could be prepared to a better standard.

Please avoid buying Simms & Taylor garage! I read reviews before I purchased the car and just thought some people being fussy!, WRONG within 5 months of buying a car from them turbo gone again after they said they fixed it twice ! Bodged up I've also informed authorities about the mot centre they use no way they pass legally, my back box fell of within 3 months now my car is at a local garage as it broke down as the car is burning and leaking oil there is also a fuel leak it's not even about the money it's about putting my children in danger! Its disgusting how they get away with it !! There are numerous problems with the cars these clearly buy them at auction and bodge them up.

This is an add on from the Peugeot 407 I never received my money from Paul Simms who wanted me to call to his garage to collect it so he could discuss my review he had every chance to speak to me when I went up to collect the £50. I would love to show all the emails on here, he has my bank details and Abby told me it would be paid yesterday I did phone but they didn't answer my call. I don't know if they have caller display, But they are not going to pay me for a faulty car I bought from them and had to go to a diesel specialist to fix the car as their mechanic couldn't. I wish I would of took note of the comments on here before I purchased this vehicle. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS ME BE WARNED I can't stress this enough if I can save one person from these people I would be pleased. I don't want the money now they can keep it. not nice people believe me lovely when taking your cash lol.

I bought a Peugeot 407 2009 Reg from Simms & Taylor for £1,795 plus £99 to MOT just over a month ago and also paid £300 for cam belt and water pump an service I also paid £30 for two second hand rear head rests as they were marked apparently it passed its MOT with no advisory's yet the LCD control panel needed replacing the window control panel needed replacing to which cost me £156 but they did fit the LCD control panel with no charge also the car has some body damage which I was fully aware of which is costing me £580. I took the car back two days after I bought it as it would not drive smooth at 30 mph the legal speed limit it had a hesitation they replaced the EGR valve but the problem was sill the same. I took it back 3 times within a month they had the car for days at a time yet they told me the engine was to small for the car they told me it was a manufacturer fault lol. I took the car to a diesel mechanic in Kirkby industrial Est who had the car half a day and told me the EGR valve was faulty and the OEM a Vac valve needed replacing he could see the EGR valve was new but it was faulty. I had to pay for this work to be done and I agreed if they paid for the parts I would pay for the labour which cost me another £100 but had take the VAT receipt to Simms and Taylor and the EGR valve they had put on which I did the cost for the parts was £169 they gave me £50 cash, They have told me they need to check the valve is faulty before they refund me the other £119 the car runs fine as it should now I called today for my £119 but Emma who I am dealing with because Paul ignores my emails now was out on a test drive and Abby said she would get her to call me back before close of business but she did not. Hopefully she will call back tomorrow and transfer the cash that they owe me that's all I want as I am overdrawn in my bank account due to having to pay upfront for the repairs. Emma is absolutely lovely to be honest and her customer service is great but having told them my financial situation I am disappointed to say the least, this has been quite an expensive car when I've added the cost up for a car with 101000 miles on the clock. had they of refunded mu cash like they said they would on the day this would of been a very different review.
