I purchased a Mercedes C200 from SJ Rayner on the 3rd October 23. As i drove away from the dealership, i noticed a warning which had come up on the instrument panel. Apparently the warning indicated that the battery needed replacing. I drove back to Rayners, who had the battery checked and they replaced it for me, no questions asked. After getting home to Bristol, i noticed that i was loosing air pressure from the left hand rear tyre. After having it checked, it was found that there was a crack in the alloy wheel. Further checks were carried out on all 4 wheels, and a bulge which also created a flat spot was found on the right hand rear alloy. I managed to find 4 refurbished alloys on Ebay for £495. I contacted Rayners with all this information and in their defence they were unaware of the issue with the wheels. They kindly offered to pay me half towards the cost of the replacement wheels, which i was more than happy with. I must admit, you have to go a long way to find a car dealer with this much customer aftercare service. I would have no problem about purchasing a vehicle from Rayners in the future as they are,in my opinion, a 100% class outfit.

I bought a car several weeks ago from Rayner Cars and there is distortion in the windshield. I had it checked by 2 reputable independent companies - Autoglass and Peugeot, who have both confirmed that there is a flaw in the glass and it is defective. Since the purchase, as a result, it has caused severe eye strain and headaches. So far all Rayner Cars have done (I have dealt primarily with Matthew in Sales) is to offer to pay just half of the cost of a replacement screen, despite being told immediately there there was a problem with it. Their 3-month warranty apparently doesn’t even come into it. I have been told by the Consumer Department at the Citizens Advice Bureau that I am entitled to a refund if I am not satisfied, because this was reported within 30 days and I am entitled to reject the car as it is defective. But Rayner Cars continue to hide behind what they refer to as their ‘legal department’ and they will not give me a straight answer as to what they are prepared to do. They continue to ignore my correspondence, and will not send a proper response, despite promising to do so on multiple occasions. In short, this company is only okay to deal with if there are no problems. Should you have the misfortune of having any issue, they have no interest whatsoever in sorting it out. Buy elsewhere.

The previous issue that I had with the car that I bought from Rayner Cars has now been resolved to my satisfaction. Simon dealt with the problem in a professional and swift manner, so as to restore my confidence in the company. So I would now have no hesitation in recommending this company

Really pleased with our car, excellent service and after sales. Cannot fault SJ Rayner would recommend them to everyone. Buy a car from them you will not regret it.

Initially they seemed professional and helpful. Had the car a short time and issues started to appear - ABS issue / not starting / new battery needed / doors not shutting / only 1 key supplied. During the warranty period these issues were resolved by Rayners. More recently having only driven 1500 miles since purchase the Stability control light has come on and knocking in the engine. Ford inspected it and said that the injector was faulty as well as issues with the ECU. The bill would be a minimum of £3000. Spoke to Rayners and said that the vehicle had numerous faults having only driven 1500 miles since purchase. The car cost 8k plus 250 for key plus 216 for Ford plus potentially 3000 to rectify the fault. Total cost so far 8.5k having driven 1500 miles. Rayners offered me 6000 to take the car back so 1500 miles would cost me 2.5k Really disappointing -

Purchased a Mercedes from SJ Rayner Cars in June 2018 within a few weeks engine management light came on. Returned as had 3 month warranty. Supposedly fixed the problem. Bought own warranty as recommended by them just in case issue reoccurred at a future time. Light came on again couple of months later. Returned car and Rayner took to a garage under the warranty then found out warranty didn't cover the issue we purchased it for. Ongoing issue with the car and one they weren't interested in supporting with. Lost our trust and wouldn't recommend or return. Also since found out car has been involved in previous accident as doors full of filler and resprayed across rear end.

After sales care at SJ Rayner Cars is poor. Had an oil leak in MOT report, was guaranteed during puchasing it has been fixed but after having the car for a little while oil leakage appeared. Was advised to get this fixed with guarantee provider, but after service check at official car dealer (oil leak advised as an immediate repair) the repair was refused by guarantee provider due to pre-existing problem . When took the car back to the Rayners with full report of issues they said no problems defected after having a car for the whole day. Took the car to another garage and they could immediately see the leak. Would never buy from them again.

Car failed MOT within 2 months and on further inspection had many oil leaks. SJ Rayner Cars failed to repair and refused to refund, so had to take it to a legal status.
I knew what car i wanted, it did not dissapoint, had a test drive , but most of all no pressure, staff were very friendly and courteous , a stress free car purchase , would reccomend to anyone , all cars were well presented

Easy as pie dealing with SJ Rayner Cars, part exchange my old car for a fair price a little reduction on the new purchase and all of my concerns dealt with before collection.
