I went to see a 1.6 Golf fsi Reg:PN07ZMU. I was planning on buying the car so I put a deposit down for £200. I then found out that the gearbox had been tampered with! Someone converted the original 6 speed gearbox into a 5 speed. The advertisement did not mention that Watsoever. Even the owner of Stanley Motors didn't know! However I rang VW directly and after giving them the VIN number, they confirmed that it was meant to be a 6 speed and not a 5 speed. I requested my deposit back, and they refused to give it back! I'll be going to trading standards in regards to this as the company falsely misrepresentated the advertisement. They also said that the car had sensors in the advertisement, when in reality, the bumper had been changed to an aftermarket one and there were no sensors.. Rubbish company! Save ur money and shop elsewhere!

Absolute rip off merchants. AVOID. Cars are substandard. You will have a fight to get a refund. My advice don't give up.
The service at Stanley Specialist Cars was excellent, they couldn't do enough for us, the two lads there were spot on, great customer service and I'm happy with the car. I recommend them 100%

Having paid cash for a vehicle from Stanley Specialist Cars, I have had nothing but trouble from the beginning. I am disabled and have a vehicle that was never fit for purpose. I was robbed of my money, time, energy, and ended up ill from the stress. They lied from the onset about what was on the vehicle, have not corrected issues that were part of the contract when I bought the vehicle and walked away with £3,499 cash. The vehicle sits outside the front of my house un-usable. Disgusted by their lack of ethics or help. Never go through this company, you will never get help and you will be sold a useless car.

I bought a car from Stanley Specialist Cars back in April and to this day the car has been great. On the day they sorted all the tax out for me, cleaned the car up nicely and basically provided an all round good service. This is one of the car dealerships that I would recommend.
