Tried to get bodywork repair at Stephen James BMW Bromley but more often than not never returned calls. I suspect short staffed but nevertheless a very poor service overall and didn’t seem to care if they lost the business.
The ladies on the service desk are always accomadating & give 100% customer service, ive been using stephen james for a long time and would like to thank the 3 service ladies for all there help.
Poor customer service and very rude staff. My fiance had to pick up his car, after being serviced and the girl that printed and handed in his documents was extremely rude. Without having any knowledge about the mechanical part,as she just prints paperwork and she doesn't work in the garage, she expressed her opinion about what was wrong with the car in a very rude manner, raising her voice and arguing with my fiance. After handing in his documents, she just left leaving him there, without explaining if there is anything else that he needs to do. It was very disappointing to see that this dealership and service centre have forgotten about customer service. We are never going there again and suggest that other demand respect when they are handing over hard earned money

True poor customer service
To keep it short: I've been lied and manipulated by a salesman at Stephen James Bromley BMW into believing that if I change my mind to buy a car I would have to pay for specific costs they incurred. MY ADVICE: BUY A VOICE RECORDER WHEN YOU ENTER THE DEALERSHIP! Don't trust a word. Don't put any money down unless you are 100% you want to buy a car!!! On 16th of October I was told that if I sign a Purchase Order for a second hand car that was not in the dealership I can get all my money back if I don't buy the car. The next day the story changed into: you have to pay for BMW warranty and MOT cost. When I have asked for the invoices they could provide only the MOT costs. In reality they never paid for BMW warranty and presented this cost as a deterrent to keep me in the deal. I have also been charged for £350 as "financial expenses" which apparently have been charged by BMW Financial Services. After I complained to BMW Finance I was told they actually never got the money. The next day Stephen James called and finally agreed to refund me the money. Unless I complained they would have illegally kept my £350. Right now I just filed another complaint with Ombudsman scheme. MY ADVICE: don't let yourself manipulated by these ruthless sales people. File complaints to all relevant authorities - Ombudsman scheme, BMW UK, BMW Finance. Initial damage for me was £688; I managed to recover £350 so far. Still working to get the rest.

Stephen James Bromley BMW the dealership with dishonest sales technique. We bought a BMW X5 close to £60K. Went for a test drive. The following day (Fri) bought it. Didn't get to inspect the bodywork prior to paying because they said the car was being prep'd in the workshop. There was a sense of urgency to get us to sign all the paperwork. Overly nice service people. Nice nice nice until you've signed up. On handover we noticed chipped body work and windscreen also chipped. Told us to bring it back on Sat. But we returned the next day. Fri. Their attitude was totally different. 'Sir it's a second hand car'. What for £60K ! It's normal to have chopped windscreen? And body work? Not allowing you to check the car before purchase is dishonest. They get you to sign handover paper prior to handover. They said they'd get it polished up and some chips 'looked at'. Then here came the workshop guy - bad attitude, couldn't be bothered, poor body language and poor service quality. He said we can't book you in for 3 weeks. There's nothing he can do. Why is it that once you've bought a car, their attitude changes. My advice to everyone - firstly I wouldn't recommend this dealer to anyone. Secondly don't sign any agreement before thoroughly inspecting the car. They'll tell you it's not ready and it's being prepared. It's all BS. They'll make you feel there's a sense of urgency to get paperwork completed and will hurry you up. It's all BS mind games they play. Don't sign the handover paper until after inspection. They tell you we need to sign now to save time BS. Once car is bought, they can't be bothered with you. This is first time we've bought a BMW. A 60K car. Should have remained loyal with Merc. It's left me with sense of feeling like I've been conned. And that they live up to their reputation. I'll update if anything changes. 3 bloody weeks to book car in for repairs is unreasonable. Do not buy from this dealership. In fact I wouldn't recommend BMW to anyone that I know as I'll be sharing my negative experience about BMW to everyone. ************************************REVIEW UPDATE************************ The dealership have carried out the repairs. It did need a lot of persuasion but they eventually did repaint the arches where there were scratch marks, and replaced the windscreen which had stone chip cracks. The alloys were repaired. They cleaned the inside of the car too. Jamie Barry was a fantastic car sales person who I would recommend. Overall I am satisfied and would like to update my original review. It did require a lot of communication before they relented and did the works. All credit to Jamie. He's a credit to that dealership. Would I recommend Stephen James Bromley dealership. No way.
