Just had a fantastic experience with Tobias from Stephen James at BMW Ruxley. He went above and beyond his remit in order to accommodate my requirements. Due to a previous bad experience, he has given me confidence and faith in buying a pre-owned BMW again. It is not just about the selling of a car but the reassurance, one receives during the process. Tobias explained the pathway clearly throughout, including any problems needing rectifying or attention which was duly processed as promised. The process was a quick turn around and executed with precision due to Tobias and the team involved. Another nice touch was a post -sale follow-up commitment ensuring that all is well. Any concerns or questions we had, Tobias responded with immediate effect. Thanks to BMW Ruxley and Tobias in particular. He is a credit to the team.

I took my 430D in last Friday as it had been recalled for the second time for the same item, once last year, when I was told that the part was ok, then I was called by BMW Stephen James Ruxley again a month ago, saying it had been recalled again as the part was now deemed as a safety issue. I asked for them to quote me for changing the angel light bulb - they did so and quoted £66 for the works - I agreed the cost even though the works are expensive. I returned in the afternoon at 5.45 to collect it, got the keys off of the BMW representative. As I got to the car I realised I hadn’t made payment for the bulb replacement, so I threw the bags in the car before returning to the dealer. When the lights came on when I unlocked the car, so noticed the bulb hadn’t been changed. I went back to the rep who’d served me earlier that day - he played ignorant to the fact that the works had to be carried out... then miraculously remembered when I enforced the fact that He was the one that dealt with me when booking the car in earlier that day and I’d also checked on the phone that both elements of works we’re going to be complete, I got no explanation as to why the works weren’t carried out, just asked if I’d like to book it in for another day. In a nutshell, they’d got my car in to carry out the obligatory works because of the BMW faulty part, not interested in doing what I requested - very little customer care to be honest. It may seem like a very small issue, but when you pay a lot of money for a car with such a brand, you’d expect to be looked after slightly better even if it’s only small works in their eyes (minor works with a high cost). i Won’t be going to Stephen James Ruxley for the next service which is circa £700 or looking to buy through them for an upgrade later this year - Think a bit of customer care training may be required at that place.
Was told by Stephen James BMW Ruxley on my first service that my back brake pads would need replacing soon. I asked them to fit new pads there and then as I dont live local. They advised that I would then have to wait about another 2 hours as they would need to re-book me in !!! The car was already in the service bay. Ridiculous. They then advised me that the cost for replacing 2 pads would be £225.01 . Extortionate amount in my opinion. Also the mechanic advised that the rear pads needed replacing. I examined the car when I got home and it was the FRONT pads that needed replacing not the rear !!!

Refused a courtesy car when mine was due a recall unless I paid £20 a day. Once car was in their possession the fog light was cracked. They then offered me a service for £641 when BMW standard price is £340. They then also wanted to charge me £300 for the fog light they broke plus £200 each for tyres. Customer service rep admitted to me that they do inflate the price (doubles in my case) but then will match BMW standard price if you ask for it. Where is the honesty and customer service ? Stephen James BMW in Ruxley is a disgraceful dealership .
Enquired about a new car. Sales staff at Stephen James BMW in Ruxley did not seem interested with new customers.

Terrible service, left my 520 d for major service and when collected the car, service indicator still showed as service required. Also had a scratch on the door which didn't exist when i dropped the car! Took ages to reply to emails! Not recommended!!

The cars and the people who work at Stephen James Ruxley Bmw are a disgrace. They lie about what’s wrong with your car hoping you don’t no anything about cars. They are the most unreliable car I have ever had and cost a bomb to buy and repair.

Had full service done with Stephen James BMW in Ruxley, it was very expensive got car back after 2days!, then phoned them to speak to the mechanic who serviced the car? to ask him what condition the plugs air filter pollen filter oil & oil filter were in ? I rang twice both Mechanics said why do you want to know ?? said they would get the mechanic to call me & I heard no more!. Was not impressed for £385.

I went to Stephen James BMW Ruxley a few weeks ago with my brother and we dealt with Nathan in sales. Fantastic experience buying her new car from start to finish. Nathan was very helpful and professional and there was no pressure to make a decision like other places we visited the same day and the car is perfect too
