Avoid! Don’t pay a deposit they will keep it! Don’t use these at any cost. They tell you the car is in excellent order over the phone, but you’ll be disappointed when you see it. It was listed in great condition. Like all the cars are. To reserve a car is £200 fee and there is nothing in the small print to say it’s non-refundable. To most people you would take it as a holding fee. I was looking at a 2016 grey Golf GTD VE16YBA and spoke with them over the phone, however couldn’t agree a price for a part exchange, which is totally acceptable. Steve sounded perfectly fair, saying he just couldn’t meet my personal valuation. The call was then ended and he wished me good luck in a search for a car. No deal was discussed in relation to the Golf. Later that evening I decided to buy the Golf and would sell mine privately. In an effort to show commitment and save an hours journey there, I placed a £200 reserve fee. The following morning dead on 9am Steve called me and said “you’ve had a change of mind” and I agreed to go up that morning to view it. He said it would need to be valeted and I agreed to get up to him at midday. When I got there the car was not in great condition. Paint was peeling on the rear bumper. The rear wheel arch had a cheap paint job, the bumper wasn’t fitted correctly. The paint around it was like rough sandpaper. There was a scratch on the door to the metal and both headlights had fogged over. Rather than waste anymore time, I told Steve it’s not for me. He then said if we do the bumper would you have it, then saying we couldn’t do that anyhow. He then told me that the £200 was non-refundable to cover their costs. I was astounded and flabbergasted. What costs? Steve said they would have to re-advertise it. That costs them nothing. And the valeting is part of the process. It was only off the market a few hours. He said I’ll speak with the manager and to put it in an email. Which I did. I also took photos of the damage. A day or two later they confirmed they would not refund the £200 and the car had been sold the next day so obviously in great condition. Some poor person has a car I’m sure they’ll be disappointed with when they look closely. How can they take £200 when the car hasn’t been viewed physically. If they delivered it I fully understand costs around that, but I went there within a few hours of reserving it. There is nothing in the terms other than they will reimburse the costs. Absolutely disgusting garage to deal with. Their owner even has the cheek to post on his Facebook profile, he tries to behave like a decent human being. Not certain how he can sleep at night if that’s the actions of a decent person. Avoid them, they are just trying to con you and they sell poor cars all crammed in.

ABSOLUTE CON. Sold my little sister a faulty car, broke down within days. I called to arrange a repair under their supposed warranty- he shouted down the phone and hung up on me. Some salesman- more like professional conman! About the several fauts essentially told " YOU BOUGHT THE CAR IT'S YOUR PROBLEM". Agressive conmen. Don't take my word for it- look through all of their trustpilot reviews and you'll see we're not the only ones screwed over.

In my opinion theyre absolutely rude and awful to deal with. They delivered a car to me that wouldnt start. I had a mechanic proved the car has fault. They refuse to take it back despite it being within the first couple of weeks of purchase. I tried to speak to them about it, they were shouting at me extremely aggressively trying to bully me out of my rights as a consumer.
Please I would like to thank Paul who dropped my car to Gillingham Kent, He was so pleasant, kind, friendly and you couldn't have wished better. We really enjoyed having Paul in our home. Thank you so much, it is a beautiful car and I am sure as a family we will enjoy our new addition. Its just what I was looking for. Once again, thank you Paul, hopefully we shall meet again Well done Stockport and thanks Michael for bearing with me during my search for the car. Bought a golf r32 from this company and Fraser was our dealer amazing service from an amazing man made the whole experience a joy and when we found a problem with the car was fixed swiftly and professionally they really do go above and beyond for the customer thanks so much x
I bought myself a car remotely from Stockport Car Supermarket. I was attended to by Kat who was very professional. You can see they take reviews seriously because she went out of her way to explain the conditions, the fact that they are used cars, how and why you could lose your deposit. This level of transparency is rare and I'm very grateful for that. I was able to buy a car remotely. I was glad finally I sent a mechanic for an independent inspection (used clickmechanic) as they found an issue that the AA didn't but SCS fixed the problem quickly. All in all I found the process very efficient and everyone I spoke to friendly and helpful. One point to note is that free delivery within 300 miles is no longer policy but some sites like AutoTrader still say is it. The only additional feedback I'd give is that when the car arrived it looked like it could use a hoover and the tank was on empty. I was worried I might not make it to a petrol station. I'd be happy to pay for someone to deliver the car with a sensible amount of petrol in the tank to not have that worry. The car is is otherwise really fab and my experience in general has been great. Thanks everyone at Stockport Car Supermarket.

Took me months to get a £300 deposit back for a car I'd purchased 'off-premises' and which had a couple of minor faults when it was delivered to me. They didn't even offer to repair the faults, ignored all of my correspondence requesting return of my deposit and only when court proceedings were initiated [even then at totally the last minute] was my money refunded to me. Some lucky people seem to have had a good experience with this outfit. Not me however! Would never use again.
