Have bought new and nearly new for 35 years from BMW Harrogate, always good service but once ripped off massively years ago being charged 300% more for a battery than I could have bought elsewhere..Exide if I recall. Used to get a bunch of flowers on a car purchase, or a BMW umbrella etc now nothing. My car has been taken in under warranty four times to replace a chip, last week being the last time, however this week the engine light on AGAIN. I rang today 4 minutes no answer, rang again 8 minutes no answer, third time 10 minutes no answer. My wife rang, after 3 minutes they said they would get someone to ring back…..didn’t happen. So bad, very poor, Pay top dollar for the worst service.

Dealt with a guy named Chris who I believe has only worked for Stratstone for a couple of months. From start to finish the customer service that he provided was exemplary. He was patient and knowledgeable about my after service enquiry with regards to a fault showing on the dashboard. Put my wife's mind at ease, explained why the fault was showing, (needs a brake fluid top up in a couple of months), and showed us where to find the fault explanation in the car menu. Chris was a credit to the garage, he was extremely pleasant and approachable, had a positive outlook on life and we wish him well with his career with Stratstone.

This dealership was brill to deal with only minus wouldn’t discount when asked the price was the price. I dealt mostly with a lovely lady called Kirsty she was very good my car should have been delivered on a Tuesday and I got an email saying it would have to be Friday got in touch with Kirsty she ordered a loan car to be outside our house and drove my car no Manchester from Harrogate absolutely brill service couldn’t ask for more
They have at least one sales guy - James (and therefore his manager) that are very poor in communication and obviously have better business to attend to. I bought a car from them that came in poor condition https://photos.app.goo.gl/J1Q5Mmn6doSU4e9VA James seems like a decent person and is pleasant to talk to - I can't lie about that but he promises he will do something and never does. You will have to call and re-call to get it done and when buying something as important as a car he needs to understand that the customer needs to be updated regularly on cases so at least you know he is working on it. I had to call HIM to tell him my deposit hasn't been taken from my account - and then I made another payment on the phone. The cars poor condition - he never actually came back to me with a resolution In the time I decided to return the car and on purchase, I was told NOTHING about their return policy. I had to dig it up on the website myself. The car was collected on a monday with the v5 book and I was told I would be sent an email to say they were processing the refund. I called on Tuesday to check and was told it would be done. I then waited...nothing. I called twice on Wednesday and after the second call, James finally sent a confirmation email that the payment has been processed - so I don't actually know WHEN it was processed. I assumed it would be on Monday since they had the car AND the V5 log book. James also said the refund would be in my account on the same day. We are now on Friday with no refund. I have given up calling Stratstone Harrogate and I'm handling my refund through the BMW complaints department. If you buy from these guys, don't expect a high quality service and don't expect your car to be vacuumed or to contain all the wheel dust caps. DO expect tissue papers, food, empty chocolate wrappers, and other generic junk in the car.

Do not buy an X5 from here, wheels/callipers rusting bad within 8mths, now told they have constant problems with tailgates, apparently I’m too heavy handed on Sat Nav so switched every box off as cannot be bothered to see what the problem is. Invested a lot in this car wish I had stayed with Volvo. Maybe small things that irritate but there customer service is shocking, tried to do another service on my car which was only done 2 months ago . But very quick to charge you for anything on service and up keep. Will never buy from here again

Great service from start to end. From discussing the car and options wit Sean to the handover withMelvyn, Knowledgable, and and a real character who couldn’t do enough for me. Now im loving my 1 series from Stratstone BMW Harrogate.

BMW issued a recall notice for my car and Stratstone BMW Harrogate would not give me an appointment for the recall work within six months which is far beyond expected to repair/analyse an electrical defect which possibly could cause a fire.

Had a long wait at the hand over stage as a fault with the car was being rectified. These things happen. The fault was still there after it was supposedly fixed. Ok, i can live with that. After sales care at Stratstone Harrogate call asked if all was ok but failed to do anything about the fault and didnt follow up to sort after promising they would. Starting to get a bit hacked off in a restrained manner as i don't kick off about the little things in life!! Customer satisfaction guys shouldn't bother ringing if all they want to here is good news. They should deal with any issues raised. Anyway, still got the fault. Nobody died, my life isn't in tatters and I've got a nice car with a minor fault. That's probably quite a good result in todays world. Staff were pleasant, car is good despite the minor fault. Big reputable group so would buy again but brushing up on stuff like this would make a better experience for the customer. Thanks to everyone at the dealership as you seem like good guys and stuff like this happens. Tell the after sales guys to get a grip though.
