I bought a car from stratus cars in June and straight away I had issues with the car. Starting with a small dent which the dealership had promised to have removed for me, wasn’t removed, the next day I realised that the air conditioning was leaking. After getting these rectified myself, a few weeks later I had an EML light come on and car go into limp mode. At this point I’d had enough and contacted stratus cars to demand an explanation. While they did initially seem take responsibility and pay for the faults to be rectified, the issue regarding the EML light (which had gone off at this point - no code found) stratus cars did say that if the issue happened again, then to drop them an email and they will find a local MINI/BMW specialist for me to take my car too. Well the issue did happen again, while I was still within my 3 month warranty period and after emailing stratus cars I had no response from them, and found that they did not honour or take responsibility for the promises that they did initially make. Upon taking my car to a local garage I was recommended taking my car to a MINI dealer for specialist advice. The MINI dealer unfortunately found £2500 worth of faults and was shocked how they hadn’t been picked up on the most recent service/MOT that stratus cars had completed. Just to mention two of the faults, that shows how poor their work is. My breaks were barely legal, which were picked up on the 2 MOTs BEFORE the one that stratus did (stratus MOT came back with no advisories) The car had a blocked valve in the exhaust which shouldn’t have passed emotions tests (reason EML light was on) and a number of other issues which should have been picked up by the “full service” which they state they do to all vehicles (which according to my service book - was just an oil change. Oh, and they wrong the complete wrong mileage in the service book). AVOID at all costs. I understand problems happen with used cars. However poor workmanship, dishonesty and bypassing safety critical points in order to make money is completely unacceptable. I will be taking this further
PRACTICALLY MIRRORED EXPERIENCE TO DATE FOR ME TOO! in response to AVOID
I rarely feel this strongly about a company - however i feel extremely let down as i;ve had several issues crop up and am not getting anywhere. I. genuinely am very perplexed as when i notified the dealer of an electrical fault so significant i actually found a flaw which was very dangerous s which i will reserve judgement for-the moment due to legal & ethical reasons. i will make it very clear and well documented blog in due course, the most annoying part is that i do feel they are aware of the poor quality of some of the cars and genuinely are not bothered and have no compassion in regards to the impact this is having on someones life;, much less care about it.
Told me they would fix a dent on car before I came to collect and never got done.
Their con artists knowing there’s an engine problem and claiming they full serviced it is a lie it broke down on me on the fourth day

Janet Brown in response to Car break down after 4 days
I can now beat you my car broke down after 2 days
Very pleasant experience dealing with Frank, Jim and Paul. I have bought a few cars from Stratus as they are stress free and there is no pressure put on to purchase, The Service department are also very good and continue to look after my cars with great work at a great price.

Stratus Cars Basingstoke - my review on their facebook page which I doubt they will publish. This was the second time I bought a car from Stratus but it will be the last because it has been so awful. I agreed the price of the car with salesman Jim McQuire after he agreed the part exchange price for my old car - I paid a deposit to hold the car and he said he would get the car prepared and valeted ready for when I picked it up a few days later . Three days later I went to collect the car and Jim announced they would have to reduce the amount for the part exchange and I would need to pay more money - but only after I had transferred payment, signed the log book and paid for 12 months tax. I wanted to walk away but Jim refused to tell me if I would get my deposit back or give me a receipt for the money I had paid. I didn't know what to do. I was humiliated and under pressure to pay more money - I'm sad to say that is what I did. After making the extra payment Jim handed me the key to the car and said "your day is just getting worse isnt it". He had not told me until then that the car I was spending so much money on only had one key or that it would cost me another £300- £400 to get a new one. By the way I had to clean the windscreen before I drove away because it was so dirty. Jim had told me the car had a full service history but when I got home I saw there was no handbook and no service history. By this time I was getting worried that I had been mis-sold the car and bought a dud. So I took the car in to an Audi dealership to check out the service history and to get a health check. They told me there was an oil leak, the rear brakes needed replacing and the brake fluid change was overdue. I rang Jim at Stratus to tell him and to see what they would do. Jim said the brake fluid may have been done by a local garage and that might be why it wasn't on record. With regard to the brakes he said Audi probably had a different standard but I could take the car in so they could look at them and the oil leak before deciding if they would do anything. I asked for an email confirming this - I really didn't want to bother driving over if they were not going to take responsibility for doing anything. Jim just laughed and put the phone down on me. Nice.

As a single mum needing a new reliable car, I felt extremely reassured throughout the whole process of upgrading my car. Paul was very helpful indeed!!! A much better service than I have ever received from dealers such as BMW, thank you so much.....would highly recommend Stratus Cars.

I have had a lot of dealings with car sales men!!! Not all of them good. But I can honestly say that Paul & Frank made me feel relaxed about buying my Mercedes Benz. The car is absolutely stunning & the guys at stratus cars couldn't be more helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend them or even purchase another vehicle from Stratus Cars. First Class Service. Six months and 3500 miles after purchasing a £21k car from Stratus, it's now going to cost me £3k to keep it on the road. Like Dave B below I see that no servicing items were recorded when Stratus serviced the car and that the emissions report wasn't included with the Stratus-supplied MOT. Buyer beware.

Had my Honda Jazz serviced and MOT recently. The team at Stratus did a fantastic job. Extremely efficient and professional. They listened to my comments and fixed the problem. Great customer service and value for money. Will definitely go back when the car needs another service and would be happy and confident to buy a new car from the fantastic team there.
