We bought a car from Swale Car Shop last July. We had trouble with the car after only two days. They tried to repair it but didn’t know what was wrong. Refused us a refund so we had to eventually take them to small claims court. They didn’t turn up, we won the case, but they still refused to pay up. We laid out extra court fees and weren’t going to give up so contacted the high court sheriffs. Brilliant, the best thing we did. They applied for a high court writ, and got all our money back within two weeks. Including all our court costs and sheriffs fees. Please take notice of this review and save yourself a lot of heartache and stress. What a shame it’s not possible to go straight through to the sheriffs from the beginning. Had to leave one star because it’s mot possible to leave a big fat 0!!!!

Please read very carefully - one of our family members bought a car from this company 18 months ago had countless issues with the vehicle which meant this had to be returned several times over and finally rendered it off the road. The Vehicle was clearly not fit for purpose but the owner of the company wouldn't ever accept this to be the case. This matter is still not resolved with a legal battle to recover the cost of the vehicle of which so far has just cost us more money and an extremely stressful and depressing time. My advise would be don't go anywhere near this company and please encourage others not to as well. Cannot post this without any stars so had to put one but doesn't deserve any!!!!

The phrase “avoid like the plaque” is fitting for this garage. I bought a Quasqui from here on finance... the car was returned within 3 days because the heating wasn’t working, the geometry of the steering wheel was out, buttons were broken and the engine was making ticking noises... three weeks later we received the car back, heating was fixed BUT the steering geometry was still wrong, the engine still wasn’t correct and we had the added bonus of an empty fuel tank and cigarette ash on the back seat... Had to get a independent assessor out to look at the vehicle to see if we were telling the truth... Swale refuse to pick this up and, it’s only because we have it on finance, that anything is being done... to add insult to injury the car broke down 10 miles from my house and had to get towed back home...

I was sold a Zafira 10 plate and was told that any thing wrong that was highlighted in the inspection report I got after purchase would be fixed. Vaxhaull inspected and told me the gearbox was faulty and needed a new gear box which would cost 2700 when I brought the car for 4000. The garage don't tell me about faults picked up on the fault machine I only found out coz the dopey mechanic (who needs to view you tube videos) left the machine in my car and I saw it. Keep away and do not use Swale Caar Shop.

Nice to talk to initially but if you have a problem, even in the first month they will try to get out of repairing the vehicle. I had an issue with my car which would be covered in the 3 month warranty and they said they wouldn't fix it. Happily on this occasion my finance company are covering the cost. If I was you I would shop elsewhere as they don't check vehicles properly.

I very much wish I'd read the reviews below as clearly the only ones from real customers are accurate. I've had my car 2 weeks and it's broken down twice, they are refusing to refund my money (I won't accept a second repair) and the owner James is refusing to speak with me directly. I'm protected under the 30 day Consumer Act but they appear to believe they are above the law. Dave is beyond rude and cannot retain any information or return calls. I will continue to update as this progresses but as it stands I'm currently speaking with trading standards and other avenues to publicise this complaint. If you have complained about this company, expect to hear from me.

No problems with the motor and I am glad to be back on the road again, the process was swift and the sales guys were helpful. I would buy from them again most definitely.

I have owned my Ford Fiesta for 3 months from Swale Car Shop, The only issue that I had was a faulty stereo system in the car (which i should have checked prior to inspecting it), they replaced it with another one on that day and I am happy with the service they provided me with. I do not know why there are so many negative reviews in regards to this business as i saw no fault in their service!

just purchased a car from Swale car shop and agreed a px valuation on my car after they had looked it over.Collected my car from them in the morning and in the afternoon received a phone call from them that their was a problem with the gearbox on the car that I had px to them and they wanted me to pay and have it repaired I have refused to pay because they looked over my car and was px as seen.They got very abusive and threatening over the phone and are refusing to give me my 3 month warranty which I am entitled to.Hopefully I have not brought a duff car but would not deal with them again and have had their threntening behavior logged by the police in case their are any repercussions.
