Bought a car not 5 months ago, told all working fine. immediately on driving off the forecourt a warning light came on. They had a mechanic look at it about 3 different occasions. One occasion they had the car for a week, appeared to have done nothing apart from damage the car key. Vauxhaull dealer independently told me it could be very expensive to fix. Swale car shop have done nothing to fix, offer any solution, refund or apology. The car has now started smellin of petrol, which I am terrified is something serious. Have already been speaking o trading standards and it now looks like I will have to take them to court. Disgusting service.

We accept the criticism of the few customers that have had bad experiences with us. After an extensive examination, we have now completely revamped our preparation and after sales procedures to vastly improve the whole buying experience. We have sold 2000 + cars in the last 4 years which have generated only a very small percentage of problems , however , one is to many and we have been working very hard to correct these few issues.
The first guy i saw just chucked me the keys i fell in love with this 1.4 polo needed a lil tlc but didnt look a big job so i paid a deposit and said can all the work be done by next week, yeah sure.So the following saturday i first saw dave looked like a proper car sales/business man. I checked the car over, everything looked okay bit of a mess thought they might have been busy. Its my first car and first time buying, when i said mate the windows dont go down to the onsite mechanic he said theres nothing he could do about it...and so did dave. Once it was signed for they didnt want too know.Later on the car conked out a roundabout. I took it to a proper well known mechanic where i live and he couldnt let me have the car back until i got some front brakes,he told me it would be a death trap to let me drive away. Also had too get a new cd player, fuses and then found out there are no speakers and all the cables are cut on the inside of the door. This was found out by a very expensive mechanics company called skinners of rye. Will be contacting the trading agency this week.just keep spending money i havent got they rip you off with out a care im 24 and very gutted!

My car needed lots of work doing on it only 1 month later even though they told me noise was lack of use. They will not get my recommendation.

I've just been in to Swale Car Shop and had a fantastic experience, Dave and Jimmy helped me find the right car that suited my requirements and got me a superb finance deal that saved me thousands that a online broker didn't! Definitely come down and see these guys if you're in the market for a quality used car. Adam Strood.
Purchased a 1st car for my son from Swale Car Shop. Very impressed with the service provided and helpfulness of the salesman as I am a single mother and was very wary about buying a car. THEY ONLY SELL THEM, THEY DONT MAKE THEM
Mrs P in response to Harriet
No, they don't make them but they do have a duty of care to the customer to ensure they are thoroughly inspected before sale - which in the case of our car (and many others it seems) was not done!
Awful. Helpful when you buy a car but when itbgoes wrong they don't want to know. Rude and unhelpful and boss is permanently uncontactable. Dave the salesman is the rudest man I've met, won't even stop eating his lunch when you're making a complaint and just replies rudely with his mouth full! Already escalated with credit card company and gone to trading standards. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

***THIS IS AN UPDATE TO MY ORIGINAL REVIEW*** Well after year and a half now part exchange my car that i brought from swale car shop with a better one there car that they sold me was over priced had a respray and many more faults dont buy one from them there cars are rubbish go to a better dealer avoid them.
At 1st Dave came across a nice fellow, whilst test driving and signing for the finance, drive car away the Saturday and drove 7 miles and the conked out, so I phoned Dave and he was unhelpful luckily I was with the aa so they loaded me on a flatbed lorry and took me straight back to Swale car shop in sittingbourne, I was met with a very disgruntled Dave he said he had no where to put the car, this point I was fuming I said I have the car for lest than an hour I want you to sort the car out, 2 weeks later and it still wasn't sorted I threatened with trading standards he seemed to change his tune but in total I was without a car for 6 weeks I have gone to trading standards I was constantly chasing them for updates with no change, I would avoid at all cost high mileage cars that have no history and they have no clue or customer service at all
