Took my 320d in for an EGR recall. I also had a warning on the iDrive for front brake pad replacement due in x miles so I asked about this. I got a video from a technician saying my disks and pads were all good. Customer service rep said they had no idea why the brake service light was on but it would be expensive to investigate. They advised I keep driving the car with the warning on until the brake pads needed changing. Took the car to my local garage - front disks and pads were shot and in need of immediate replacement - down to metal on metal. Turns out the wheel nut on the left front wheel (where the wear sensor is) was seized so Sytner couldn’t have taken the wheel off to check the inner brake pads. Advising me to carry on driving with the warning light on could have been a fatal mistake - don’t use this dealer under any circumstances for service!
My partner has been a valued customer of Sytner Sheffield, having had 5 cars from them in the past. She decided to get another car, a BMW X2, almost immediately, the tyre on one was very low. My partner contacted Sytner, 2 days later, letting know the situation with the tyre. They told her to reset and that the tyre would be fine, 6 time's she did this and the tyre was just the same, very low pressure! Eventually they decided to have the car looked at, my partner spent 4 hours waiting for the car to be sorted! Car was given back and low and behold, the same thing as before, low pressure. Once again, my partner had to take time off work for the 2nd time, to have the tyre pressure looked at. How does a company that repute have a car for 4 hours and miss the fact that the tyre, had a slow puncture in it! Unbelievable! Within 20 minutes of having the car for a 3rd time, they managed to find the leak and changed the tyre. If they had done there job right from day one, my partner wouldn't have had to take 2 afternoon's off work to get the car put right and then to be left out of pocket, because of there incompetence! No offer of recompense has be offered from them! They have my partner money and now have washed their hands from the situation. Appalling customer service and care and that that's to customer who has been with them for years! All smiles when they want your money and treat you like a leper, once they have it! Don't fall for all the car sale's antic, think seriously before doing business with them!!!!

Brought a car had the car a day and washed it only to notice some major scratches rang / emailed photos over only for them to accuse me of doing the damage ! I am still awaiting a response of how they are going to sort this issue . Avoid this dealer , if you’re not buying a brand new car it’s a false front . They don’t seem to be in any rush to sort out my issue . Avoid Avoid Avoid ! Quick enough to do the deal but customer service is shocking .

If I could have reviewed this minus 5* I would!! I am a nurse and I work full time. All I ask for when I pay premium prices for a car is for it to work properly with no faults! But I am absolutely disgusted with the sale and purchase of my car. Back in 2018 I was sold a 1 series by a very honest and trustworthy gentlemen in sales. The car did me well and if it wasn’t down to the manual gearbox I would have kept it and never looked back at SYTNER sheffield again. Every time I had my 1 series serviced from them they would lie about the brake pads needing to be changed even the brake disks too. Which I naively agreed too, thanks for the scams I suppose!! This time round I went back to ask to change the car for an automatic x1. I was sold a 2018 x1 with low ish mileage. I visited the showroom alone without anyone with me and I feel like I had been taken advantage of, let me explain why… before taking the car for a test drive I noticed some scratches on the sides and the alloys were completely ruined which the sales adviser said would be sorted before I received the car after all of its checks post purchase. I had taken the X1 on the test drive and the sales advisor talked a lot about how good Sytner was and the 12 month warranty that comes as standard with SYTNERS cars. Almost like he knew the car wasn’t right… but seeing a lady all alone perfect opportunity to scam her right? I agreed to the purchase as it drove well on the drive and I took his word for the cosmetic changes that needed to be done. When I went to collect the car I arrived happily with excitement as you do, when I drove the car out of the showroom I had noticed the left side passenger front and back speakers where not working. How? Why? (APPROVED USED CARS APPARENTLY) The scratches were not taken care of and the car was absolutely filthy. The little corners of the car full of grim food crumbs and hair! Why was this not taken care of? Lastly there was an irritating whistling sound coming from the back of the car when the engine was switched on. I called the sales assistants but shocking… they were too busy to answer the phone and did not respond. So I took matters in my own hands and called the servicing team and explained what I had been sold. On the inspection I had explained my concerns which where ultimately observed and even the service gentleman looked embarrassed too. Such a big company with such low standards. I received a call from the sales advisor days after and he was extremely argumentative and said ‘what do you expect me to do?’ Erm ? Maybe not sell faulty cars you twisted fool!!! How did he expect me to drive 12 miles to work ?? I’m paying for a device and my car was in the showroom getting repaired?? Finally they offered me a courtesy car and made me feel rubbish for asking for one! The car took 1 week to repair and guess what they still couldn’t fix the speakers on the inside… why did it take a week then? What else where they working on? They insisted I give the courtesy car back and take the faulty car home and wait for them to call when a part comes in… So they wanted me to drive a car with no music or entertainment? Once I took the car home I had noticed that the automatic gear box had some sort of shortfall every time I would drive over 50mph the shifting of gears would cause the steering wheel to move towards the left. Bizarre I know! It was almost like they sold me a written off car? CAT D!! The car had only done 30,000 miles! Why was it falling apart?? and how can you enjoy your long drives with speakers only working on one side what sort of PREMIUM APPROVED USED CAR treatment is that? The sales guys where so argumentative and rude I mean do you even have qualifications to be working at bmw? The service was awful lots of upsetting calls and sleepless nights and finally I can breathe! I sadly had to give up and go elsewhere. I will never be coming back to sytner. They actually do not deserve any more money from people like us. If you want to get to work with a reliable car do your self a favour… stay away!!
Took my vehicle in for a service (front and read discs and pads) and MOT. Alongside the astonishingly high prices, my car has suddenly developed a large knocking noise when driving at low speeds. Obviously Sytner deny having anything to do with it, despite the noise only appearing directly after the service. They then tried charging £190 for diagnosis. Will be taking it elsewhere for a second opinion, and avoiding Sytner at all costs in the future.

I read Google and Trustpilot reviews and so pleased I did as much more representative. That said my experience was so good I wanted to share it on here. Customer care best I have experienced, having used other dealers over the years. Facility worth a visit on its own! Very Civid safe.

I was interested in a Mercedes E220 yesterday which was for sale on Autotrader at £21400, they said it.a special price because it was a non franchise car to their usual BMW. I asked for a PX price and sent some photos as requested and was promised a price today. So today the price has gone up to £25000 stating an admin error as the reason. Surely a company as large as Sytner should not be making these errors.
SOLD A DAMAGED CAR - To keep this brief I purchased a used car 4 years old. The previous owner had damaged the rear arch. The car was delivered to me with this damage. The retailer confirmed that they attempted to repair it previously (so not acceptable damage for a customer) They had the damage repaired and had to repaint the panel. Because they have had to repaint the car due to a issue at the point of sale I no longer wanted this car as im sure many others wouldn't its a matter of choice. Sytner BMW in Sheffield have refused to allow me to take the car back to them and confirmed that its acceptable to sell a car with collision damage to a customer. A very dissatisfied customer when they could have just took the car back and I would have purchased an alternative with them at the time. BMW UK AND BMWFIN are now investigating their reasoning why as the return request was made on the 2nd day of owning the car so within the 30 day period. I CAN RECOMMEND COOPER BMW & MARSHALL SHOULD YOU BE IN THE MARKET FOR ONE, unfortunately they did not have the car for me at the time. I will post copies of all emails later should anyone be interested in their very bullish responses.
