❌ AVOID ❌- I wish I had read the reviews beforehand. Think twice before buying a car from Sytner Select Wakefield, because the chances are, your experience is likely to be similar to mine. After spending £15,000 on a car, I expected a reliable vehicle and professional service. Instead, my car spent 30 days in for repairs within just 3 months of ownership. Here’s what I went through: • A dangerous breakdown: Only days after driving away, I broke down in live motorway traffic due to the clutch failing. This was something I’d already flagged at collection as it was acting weird. It’s shocking this wasn’t caught during their so-called “135-point comprehensive check”, something as fundamental as a clutch issue isn’t exactly hard to detect. The car went in for repairs, along with other issues like a faulty 12v socket. Whilst they replaced the clutch, the socket still didn’t work after replacing it and not testing it. After returning it again, it turned out to be a fuse, which they only checked after another trip. • Ongoing clutch issues: The clutch started clicking again, and after another inspection, they bizarrely concluded the issue was a loose pipe. During this time, I went through 3 courtesy cars, after telling me they had none (as a car dealer) 2 of which were far from roadworthy. One didn’t display the fuel level properly, while another didn’t even have a valid MOT, leading to an interesting conversation with the police. After three trips that day, they finally gave me a car I could legally drive.. Unsurprisingly, the clutch was still clicking because the “loose pipe” wasn’t the issue. An Audi master technician later diagnosed it as a faulty master cylinder, which was replaced, finally resolving the problem, surely it shouldn’t take a master technician to diagnose this. Sytner then conducted a “health check” for my peace of mind and assured me everything was fine. Yet, when I later took the car to Audi for a service, they flagged the brake fluid needed changing—something Sytner missed. This is basic MOT-level maintenance. Their excuse? Audi had more specialist equipment—yet another reason to doubt their comprehensive checks. Other repairs: Alongside the clutch, the turbo actuator and several other components had to be replaced due to warning lights on the dash upon collecting the car, This is not what you expect when purchasing a car at this price point. Finally, I took my car once again to Sytner Select for a final time due to a rattling noise coming from the underneath of the car, I replicated the noise on a road test which was apparently just “because the engine hadn’t heated up” I said this wasn’t the issue as it would happen a few hours into driving sometimes, they then apparently took it on a road test (confirmed by car’s GPS that they didn’t), they instead took it on the ramps for 10 minutes, and decided there was nothing wrong… I further took this to be looked at by another garage who diagnosed the issue straight away. I raised my concerns with Jon Easton, the Head of Business, and Michelle before writing this review. Unsurprisingly, I’ve heard nothing back months later, which perfectly sums up the poor communication I’ve dealt with throughout this ordeal. I highly doubt they’ll even respond to this review. I’ve bounced between several people: Kyle, Morgan, Sam.. you name it.,. oh and obviously Jon & Michelle, but no reply 🤨 Do yourself a favor, avoid Sytner Select Wakefield, because whilst they may repair your car if you beg them to nicely, their communication is shocking and they send cars out that could only possibly be deemed roadworthy for LegoLand.

Richard Medd (sales manager) is a very fair and honest person. The vehicle I purchased (Porsche Macan) was very fairly priced and his px allowance the same. When the time arrives for replacement Richard will certainly be my first choice. I have passed on my experience to my family and others, Thank you Richard.
Firstly, informed that I’m currently unable to test drive due to their insurance policy (and Covid 19 restrictions, of course) Other dealerships ARE allowing test drives, including other Sytner dealers. Secondly, the mileage was understated by 5,000 on their website and auto-trader and some of the spec turned out to be lower too. I received an apology for that, and was told that it was a mistake…fair enough, it happens I suppose…however… subsequently the advert was amended to correct the inaccurate spec, but the inaccurate mileage claim REMAINED for several days later until it was presumably sold to someone else. This suggests to me that someone at Sytner select is happy to misrepresent. How is a new customer supposed to gain trust under these conditions?! Very disappointing, I was very interested in the car and had high hopes from a Sytner dealership

I'll keep it brief, the service was generally ok but unfortunately I was lied to about the car, it had a different engine to what was in the log book, it blew up on me 3 weeks in and back it went.

Just good value for money stood out about my purchase of my Vauxhall Corsa from Sytner Select, ive had no real problems of note and they have answered and dealt with everything required of them. I would recommend them and would go back myself to see what they have
