Car advertised with full service history; I received no such history after purchasing the vehicle. In retrospect, I should have demanded to see this before purchasing the vehicle. Repeated attempts to obtained the full service history have been met with the same discourse: "We will get it sorted and send it out to you". Truly dreadful people. I would seriously question the 5-star ratings on here as an attempt by the car factory people (whom seem to have changed their name) to balance out all the negative reviews they are rightfully receiving. I would strongly advise against purchasing from the Car Factory Yorkshire.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE AVOID THIS DEALER! Where to start really... They have been rude, sarcastic and as unhelpful as possible. Travelled a very long distance to see the car which ended up being in a far poorer condition than had been described to me over the phone! Still, I pointed out all the faults and was assured that they would all be sorted out. Needless to say on the day of collection, hardly any of the faults had been addressed. I was also told it had just had a full service... IT HAD NOT! On inspection at home the oil was like thick black treacle and the oil level was overfilled to a level that would damage the engine with prolonged use. The condition of the windscreen and the headlights were so obviously both MOT fails, yet I was handed a current MOT certificate for the vehicle and told to claim for the windscreen on my insurance! (The windscreen was really badly scratched...and you can't claim for replacement scratched windscreens on your insurance). I was also told the headlights just needed a good clean. Not true... Cleaning made no difference what so ever. I had to spend hours and hours sanding and polishing the lenses for them to to become road legal. This seems to be a common theme with this dealer that cars come with a MOT and quite clearly should have failed the MOT. Also the full service history booklet was supposed to have been posted out to me. But after constantly phoning them only to be told that it had been posted, they eventually told me it had been found upstairs in a draw and would now be posted out to me. I never received it. After another 3 months of me chasing up why I had still not received it, they eventually said it must have been lost in the post! Utter rubbish! I must have been told about 20 times that they would phone me back and they never did... Not even once. Also they became very sarcastic and aggressive with me over the phone. The car had absolutely no petrol in it when I drove it away. When I mentioned this to them before setting off, they just pointed me in the direction of the nearest petrol station! They also tried to charge me for some of the repairs that they said that they would sort out. Some of the things they wanted me to pay for hadn't even been done. It seems from the reviews that I am not alone with the problems I have had with this company. PLEASE THINK LONG AND HARD ABOUT THE AUTHENTICITY OF THE GOOD REVIEWS ABOUT THIS COMPANY! Please save yourself a load of hassle and buy your car elsewhere. There are a lot of decent cars out there. So please dont buy one from the car factory!
The sales guys here are ok but don't let their mechanics near your car. I Purchased a car from them last month. On the test drive I noticed a the engine management light was on and pointed this out along with damage to the bumper. I was assured that this would be remedied prior to my collection of the car the following week after its service and MOT. The week following I arrived to collect my new car. The bumper damage had been remedied as promised but when I came to drive the vehicle away the engine management light came on again. The salesman examined the car, read the fault and turned it off assuring me all was ok and that it hadn't been reset from them working on it. I drove the car home (some 20 miles) where upon the light came on again. I took the car to my local garage who read the code. Failed gas temp sensor. I returned to the garage and spoke again to the same salesman who informed me they could do nothing until the following week as the mechanic didn't work Saturday afternoon. I informed him of the fault code which I had written down for him so he could sort something out. I returned the following Monday to be told the part required was going to take a week to come. 10 days later I was advised to take the car to a garage in Sherburn who had the part and would fit it. At this point I must say that they where helpful and did, albeit slowly, organise to have the problem repaired. This they did in what transpires to be the worst fix ever. Firstly on removing the sensor they threaded the threads on the DPF. Then to cure this problem up they drilled and ground out the threads (on the DPF) and welded a threaded nut and washer over the hole to allow the sensor to be fitted and smeared it with some type of adhesive. This 'fix' appears to work, but according to my mechanic had seriously lessened the life of the DPF which run at around £350.00 to replace (not including fitting). Obviously that's the reason for the quick fix and not replacing the part they broke and butchered. This is the same garage that MOT's the vehicle. How it passed with a faulty sensor and what now turns out to be a need for 2 new tyres and the tracking being out by over 8 degrees is beyond me. I am awaiting a response from the garage in question as well as the Car Factory as to who intends to replace my DPF.
Initially arriving at The Car Factory Yorkshire I was a little disappointed at the open air car park containing their stock, as the pictures on the website paint a far more grand image of a showroom. Nevertheless, I was here to buy a car and not a showroom. I was pleasantly shown around the car and and offered some little knowledge of the make and model but not as much as a sniff of an offer of a test drive. Alarm bells then rang as as the mileage was X amount of miles higher than advertised and the so called dealer upgrades advertised were non-existent. The car was nice and the woman was nice but if two things were wrong straight away, time to drive home me thinks.
If this helps just one person to think twice about purchasing a car from The Car Factory Yorkshire in Leeds (of Chris) then i will die a happy man. Vehicle was not as described, was assured of it's condition before travelling from Swansea (510 miles round trip). I am disabled so my brother had to go through this nightmare on my behalf. When various faults were highlighted I was told that the car has a warranty and MOT "get it repaired in Swansea". They were extremely rude, unhelpful, aggressive and unwilling to refund my deposit straight away. Eventually my deposit was refunded with no apology for the time and money wasted because of the blatant misinformation given initially. Trading standards have been informed and not surprisingly they were already aware of their trading practices at The Car Factory Yorkshire. Cannot believe that business like this still exist in this day and age, I question that their most recent reviews are genuine based off of my experience.
Having looked online at a car that I liked, I rang and spoke to someone in the office whom was very helpful and polite, gave me all the information that I was wanting to know. I then went down to view the car on the same day and it was immaculate just like they had said, lovely bunch of people and very helpful, got a brilliant deal.....so I was very pleased with their customer service. Would definitely recommend.
I phoned up the car factory about a mini it looked a stunner the staff was very helpful it was exactly as the photos I drove up 85 miles to see it the staff was so helpful they sorted out my finance at such a good rate and had it delivered so professional I who'd recommend the car factory to anyone thank you so much to all the staff
I have purchased a car from The Car Factory and would just like to share my experience with other people that are thinking of buying from this garage. The customer service I received was absolutely phenomenal, there was no pushiness or in your face like most garages I had visited, it was a very friendly but professional service that I received and nothing was was too much to ask. The car I purchased is brilliant and would definitely recommend this garage to anyone wanting to purchase a new vehicle.
After shopping around for weeks I eventually faund my ideal car buy far it was the best value the staff was polite and helpful not the usual pushy sales tactics what's more the twelve months m.o.t provided and the two years warranty has given me complete piece of mind and would recoment this garage as the deliver what they say
Very pleased with my purchase, was correctly advised after receiving numerous high interest finance rates, The Car Factory dealt with all this for me, saved me thousands on the payments. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they did all the paperwork for me and can only say that i am very impressed with how it was all handled from start to finish. I would have no hesitation in recommending other to this garage whatsoever.
