A horrible experience full of lies and deception. A summary: *The car was advertised as one previous owner, - turned out to be three having done a quick background check online. *Told I could leave a holding deposit to view the car and promised I would get my refund back if I didn't want the car. Once I told them I didn't want the car, I was told that deposits are non-refundable. * I was told the deposit was non-refundable as the car had been prepped for viewing (MOT, Servicing were both mentioned by the manager). I checked on the national database to find the MOT had NOT been done. I then phoned back a week later posing as a different customer, only to be told that the car needed a MOT and servicing. (More lies) *That's £500 pounds for a deposit! robbery! BTW, every time you ring, their sales staff always claim that the car you are interested in already has a few customers looking at it and ready to buy so that you depart with your deposit in order to hold the vehicle for viewing. Know you legal rights! check with trading standards too. Finally, I have all the evidence of the facts that I've stated above. I'm more than happy to share them with anyone thinking this is a bogus review.

Dear A.D I am sorry to hear that you have not had a good experience with Lowton Motor Company, can you confirm the vehicle that you originally enquired about and have you now had a refund of your holding deposit ?
Got a price for PCP which we accepted and then the day before pick up this was increased by £10 per month. Unable to book us in to view the car before pick up date. We were Part exchanging my car and advised there was a lot of damage which none was dramatically visible, we thought the car was in really good condition. They said that it would cost an extra £650 for them to repair it that we would need to pay. They then came to the idea that they would put some towards this so it would be us paying £350. Still not acceptable especially as the damage would be less than £150 to fix normally. As well as this, we hadn’t negotiated at all on the price of the car so we were paying full price. After an hour of sat waiting, they advised we could pay them £350 as another deposit and go and get the car fixed ourselves and come back to pick the new one up. Why would I pay them £350 and also pay someone else privately to fix it? We told them no and that we wanted to cancel completely and walk away. They didn’t expect us to say this and eventually after a long wait said we could have the car without paying for the damage to the part exchange. Walked into reception and waited for salesman to get paperwork. He walked in on the phone to one of his mates calling them a “slag” in front of us. Then continued to tell us he bought his sister an A1 and she smokes weed all the time in it. Also swearing whilst speaking to us, unorganised with paperwork all over, unable to open the cupboard for the spare key so advised we would need to come back for it, didn’t provide us with the new keeper v5 so we have to go and buy one from the post office before taxing the car, couldn’t be bothered checking the service history online for us because it was late, and constantly asking us whilst we were there to leave him a good review otherwise he would get “sacked in the morning”. Avoid this company, the customer service is a joke.

Unbelievable experience, 18500 car with a dodgy mot unroadworthy , leaking water pump, no jack ,cigarette burns on seats and carpets, broken rear spring ,broken burst rear shock absorber, valet was shocking ,leaking heater matrix over an inch of coolant floating around on the floor, one key no service history won't be going back very disappointed and trust has gone with these sort of garages
I couldn't view the vehicle as too far to travel during covid-19 and i was sending recovery operator to collect so asked for description of damage to vehicle, failed to advise on accident damage to rear bumper and tailgate! Then denied damage was on the vehicle prior to collection! Had to provided images from recovery driver with salesman in photo of damage! Also vehicle was advertised with full service history but nothing stored on vehicles history for service they have claimed to have done! Salesman has tried to get director to speak to me regarding issues for the last week and still failed promise after promise of a call back! Paid nearly 17k cash and not even a phonecall to discuss, absolute joke! Not happy with my experience!

Was impressed by the no pressure selling, and when we decided to purchase the car Dan looked after us from start to finish, making sure everything was ok with the vehicle and that we were happy before and satisfied before we drove it away. Bought an R8 from Lowton Motor Company and paid £1500 for a warranty. Came home and oil cooler was leaking. Had to pay out again to fix it. After sales was diabolical. Every time we called got fobbed off with another excuse. Still waiting to see if warranty is going to pay out 8 months later. I’m not actually sure if we ever had one or if we handed over £1500 for nothing!! I would never buy another car from here
