Salesman were great tbh... offered good past ex price on the condition that No engine management lights on when they looked at car. However they then knocked off £500 off their offer for body work, although they had 20+ pictures before they'd made their original offer. I was told that 'everything needed on their car would be done before buying but then they back tracked on chip in windscreen, which may have been an MOT pass, however chip was in line of sight and I was not happy with this from the beginning, but was originally told it would be sorted. Also flaking Paint to under side of rear bumper was not put right and I was told this was 'wear and tear'!!!... they then agreed to fix this but as I had been given false promises I decided not to buy.... Deposit was refunded same day without issues to be honest -- I think they'll say anything to get a sale but not go thro with their promises with regards their cars that need odd things sorting out -- disappointing for a dealership that should pride themselves on professionalism which The Car Co do not!! I would NOT trust what these guys say from my experience -- The salesman was great, it was whoever they discussed to do the deal that let them down!!

I bought a 3 series bmw from Mark at The Car Co about 2 weeks ago, as you generally do when buying a car I pointed out the fact that there was some damage I was not happy with which were: 1x windscreen crack 1x windscreen chip 1x small dent No full service history Alloys were damage repaired and wheel was losing pressure Bonnet needed readjusting The sales person and the dealership manager assured me they would sort everything out for me as the have their own service centre which I thought was a big positive and I took their word for it and the damage was marked on the damage repair sheet. Fast forward to the actual visit to the service centre. I got there and addressed the issues and Graham almost immediately knocked back all the issues I had, chipped widescreen there’s nothing we can do about it as we have filled the crack which is the size of a 5p coin. I mentioned that the service was not updated on the idrive system, he said that only BMW upload the service onto the idrive so I asked for a copy of the service only to receive a copy of the oil service! So I asked what this was all about and Graham said that they don’t do full services so I was lied to by the sale person in the dealership as he assured me that their was a full service history completed in the Vehicle. I asked him about the alloys and again, there’s nothing we can do about it! So basically I have driven nearly 4 hours in total to hear this from the service department! These sales people are con artists and liars PLEASE BE AWARE! If you see damage DO NOT buy the vehicle! I feel like sending it back as I am still within my 30 days but this would affect my credit rating! Please don’t message me about getting in contact via email, you have my contact details I bought a 3 series from mark at the end of march 2024 you can call me or email if you prefer!

Very disappointed in the service from the Car Co. I bought a 2018 Mercedes CLS just before Christmas 2023. The purchase was great, they have some lovely stock and it's incredibly well presented. Muj was my sales person, he was very friendly and professional. Whilst viewing the car (before purchase) the drivers window switch was broken. Muj said thats a common fault and it will be replace before handover. Whilst driving the car home it appeared the window switch wasn't fixed, the start stop was not working and there was a fault with the parking sensors. The purchase was on the 20th December and I contacted Muj on the 26th December regarding the problems. He got me booked in with their Service Centre on the 12th January. Im not local to their service centre which is located on James Street, Bury. So I arrange time to drop the vehicle off and wait for call. After dropping the car off at 9am I was able to collect the vehicle early afternoon. I was advised the car needed a new battery (explaining the start stop problem) The window switch had been replaced and the wiring to one of the sensors repaired. When I went collect the car I noticed a scratch on the bonnet which wasn't previously there. The car had been valeted and must have been scratched whilst doing so. Granted this is hard to prove, but testament to the presentation of the vehicle when I bought it, it was like new. Good enough the Service centre arrange for the car to come back and have the bonnet machine polished, almost eliminating the scratch. Whilst driving the car home I could hear a new rattle from the engine bay. Pulling over I discovered two bolts were not put back after the work carried out. Not a major issue but consistent with the sloppy work and attitude from the company. The parking sense fault occurred once again on the same journey home. I got back in touch with Graham Banks of the service centre and booked the car back in for the 5th of Feb. I was reluctant to return to service centre given my previous experience but as this is their only centre I was given no choice. After taking another day off work and driving the Bury the car was 'fixed' Graham explaining that the sensors have corrosion around the contacts and needed rubbing down. As I drove home it became obvious the sensor were not fixed and the problem still occurred. After this second attempt of fixing the problem, bearing in mind my scratched bonnet and loose fixings I did not want to take another day off work and let Grahams technicians have a third attempt. I suggested I take the vehicle to my local garage who look after my fleet of commercial vehicles. Their response was; Hi Mr. McDonald, I have spoken to the manager regarding having the fault diagnosed locally, he has agreed that if there is a fault found with the Parking sensor we would cover the Diagnostic Fee. If, however, no faut were to be found this would be at your expense. If a fault is diagnosed please forward quotation for repair to this address for evaluation prior to repair being carried out , we will advise once received how to proceed. Regards Service Team My garage found the fault and diagnosed the issue as a faulty parking sensor. Requiring a new sensor and removal of bumper/headlamp to replace. They quoted £309.78 Graham and the management at the Car refused to pay this amount and asked me to return the vehicle back to James Street for the repairs. We had some back and forth with communication resulting in them agreeing to pay £150 plus VAT to the garage for the £309.78 repair. The offer was there for me to return the vehicle to James Street, but the vehicle should have had a PDI before handover. I would imagine if this inspection was done properly then the parking fault (which did have a fault code logged) new batter and broken window switch would have been discovered. I understand things can be missed and I have no problem in returning the vehicle for the repairs. However I was very disappointed with my initial experience at the service centre.

Bought a car from this place a while ago and I can honestly say it had not stop problems from start to finish. No advisories were done, even the ones that were from a while ago, meaning a few weeks after buying the car, I had to pay for numerous repairs. The company weren’t interested and it was only after endless phoning that they made any gesture. Following that, it was one thing after another, a new exhaust, new suspension, the list is endless - all on a car that was supposedly low mileage. I’ve never written a bad review but these guys are immoral and need to take a good look at the ‘service’ they are apparently providing. I would not trust them or their cars.

I bought a car at the end of August, when I bought it there were a few issues to be rectified however I was told that when I would pick it up it would all be sorted. I collected 6 days later and an hour before collection I was rung to say that they hadn’t been able to repair the seat as agreed but they could come out 5 days after and fix the seat. 5 days later came and they never arrived. When I called up I was told that the man was on holiday and was never going to have done it on that date. Numerous phone calls and lost hours later it was agreed that they would collect my car some 24 days after the purchase to collect. A curtesy car was dropped off for me which didn’t have a working headlight and was a far cry from my new car that I bought. When I contacted aftercare again, I was told to go and get it sorted at Halfords by 2 members of staff. The return of my car was delayed by a week and only returned when I said I would like my money back if it was going to take any longer. The aftercare team was full of excuses and empty promises. Although the car has been returned to me now the service book still hasn’t been stamped and my Bluetooth hasn’t been fixed. I have requested a diagnostic from the car group as they have told me nothing was wrong however they simply sent a handwritten note and have said I will need to pay for a further diagnostic myself. I have made a formal complaint however the only attempt they have made to rectify the issue was to ask one of the members of staff involved in the complaint to call me which did not end in any resolution. The company have told me that they will go through an ADR process however are yet to send any further details

Bought a car from this dealer in 2021. Firstly I enquired online and was contacted by a salesman who arranged finance for me , I came to view the Vehicle the next day and collect … after a V quick test drive and arranging the sale the salesman disappeared and left me in his office for a while - when he returned he said the car had been sold to someone else , even tho he has pre arranged the sale to me ? Then tried to sell me more expensive vehicles I refused as I had come straight there from work and everything had been pre arranged how could it just be sold . As my car was being used as a px they obviously quoted me less and said my current car needed work so my px price was less and would have to roll negative equity into the new car … anyway sale was completed I drove away . Within 25 mins I had called back to notify them the clutch was not right on the car it was so heavy and struggling to get into gear . My partner had to put the car into gear for me as it was so stiff to move . The car was returned within a week and they said they would have a look at the vehicle . After checking it or so they said , the service manager took me to another bmw and wanted me to listen to how it sounds the same as mine to reassure there was nothing wrong with the vehicle …… even promised to guarantee 3 months warranty on the clutch as he said it was fine . The car wasn’t fine and I again complained … taking the vehicle back again and this time they gave me a custody car and agreed to take the car in for a thorough check over ….. contacting me within a day or 2 to say the clutch needed replacing and as a gesture of good will they would also change the fly wheel . Great or so I thought ! When I collected the car it was apparently all fixed … to me it felt the same the clutch was still heavy the gears were hard to reach , the engine rumbled in neutral STILL! . I tried to contact them several times but nobody was interested . By Xmas 21 so less than 6 months after this so called clutch and fly wheel has been replaced the car was getting worse ! Completely slipping out of gear when being driven , to the point it was undrivable and broke down on the moterway . My 4 year old was terrified and we were left stranded at night on the m62 as the car just wouldn’t get into gear ! The car was then taken to a local garage and I contacted the finance company and was advised to open a claim and force rejection . Which I did , this was ongoing for months as the car sales company lied and procrastinated as much as they could until finally admitting they had lied about the clutch and fly wheel replacement and they were forced legally to take the faulty vehicle back !!!! NEVER EVER EVER BUY FROM THESE , lots of reviews claiming similar mis treatment absolutely awful customer service and awful sales / service men . Conning customers
