This guy Colin Newman is as dodgy as the old adage goes, about slippery used car salesman, he would fit in well on only fools and horses Sold an absolute poke of a car to my elderly father and thinks it’s ok to ignore him, he requires all monies to be paid into his wife’s account and not his own, maybe this is due to the bankruptcy rumours, be extremely careful, dodgy character is mild, and it’s not only in relation to his car business, same applies to his land owning

My husband met Chris on Father's Day in relation to trading a VW Polo for a Puegeot 206. On the day my husband couldn't do the deal, but on our second visit I came along with him.. I agree with all the positive Reviews. Your always going to get someone that moans, especially in Chris line of work, But my husband found him a remarkable man, and so did I by the time we left to go back home, his knowledge of the Car Trade will blow your Mind. Thankyou Chris for Everything we love our new car...!
Bought car exhaust fell off after two weeks. Had car inspected by Honda main dealer and was completely corroded. Had second MOT done which failed on lots of serious points. Asked for refund and Chris refused. Please please please stay away from this reckless seller. He’s bad news.

His claim was dismissed by the Judge, but felt inclined to awarded him the cost of items now in need of repair that were not present at purchase. I had offered to have these looked for him and repaired, but instead he took it to the Honda Main Dealer for a report. The Main dealer confirm what they had found in their report was only to be expected on a 17 year old vehicle.
I bought a volvo c70 in March 2021 off a c.j.newman over the phone during lockdown. He reassured me the car was immaculate he gave it 12 mnth M.O.T. with no advisories. Every other past M.O.T.s dating back to 2017 had advisories wishbones worn. When I confronted him his response was its the testers discretion as to whether he writes the fault down. Also found wheel discs were badly worn especially the rear as my local mechanic found. Again confronted him and after a lot of arguing he decided to pay for the rear discs. When I took delivery of the car I found some minor problems or thats what I thought. Aircon didn't work plus audio was faulty, while getting aircon gassed it had a leak and needed new condenser £115 plus fitting, again confronted him but was not interested same for audio. I then looked back on service history only to find these problems were highlighted back in 2014. So the car was sold to me without me being made aware. Very naughty. Trading standards are now involved (court case lost by dealer)

This is an update to this particular review, since March 2021 when i purchased this car from Mr. C.J. Newman we have just finally had a mediation court hearing and he was told he had to pay me £276.50 + £150 toward brake discs being renewed, The £276 .50 was for the replacement of the Aircon Radiator. He tried ever so hard to worm his way out of not paying for Aircon issue until the judge also agreed with me because it was in writing to prove my case. Just be very careful when dealing with this guy and i strongly advise anybody to do there homework on any vehicle they are interested in and dont rely on this guy. I have still a couple of things to sort on the car which i unfortunately didn't get my way with i.e. audio unit faulty and worn wishbones which he failed to inform me about

As expected, he is not correct in his posting, there was no Court Hearing, we went to mediation beforehand, and so as to get this particular individual out of my hair I offered to pay for his Air.con. repair, which the Judge was very grateful for my offer, and having previously paid out for an unsupported repair for his rear brake discs and pads, which were notable not retained by him to show their condition.

C.j.Newman, you claim you paid me what you did to as you say ' to get me out of your hair' if that was the case then explain why it went before a court judge albeit it was dealt with over the phone. It's strange it's taken you this long to respond to this review. You was made to pay for the aircon condenser cos you tried and failed to get your money back, also same for brakes. You lost the case and it just shows your a fraud, liar and a conman. Glad to see the back of you suck it up newman
I brought my citroen c3 picasso from The Car Store and was very impressed with the dealer, answered any questions promptly, was never made to feel forced into buying, my car is perfect. I would highly recommend and in fact have, leading to a family member buying a car from here also.

Have bought a couple of cars from the car store in ferndown and both times was very happy with the purchases . The owner was very helpful and went out of his way to make a smooth transaction with all the paperwork and to get us on the road . The latest car was spotless recently serviced and came with a warranty which a lot of garages don’t do on used cars . Will definitely buy again from the car store and will recommend to family and friends . Tony

The owner of The Car Store was very helpful ,had a small problem and he sorted it out for us we will buy again from him.
Brought car broke down offered to repair it we asked for refund as the couldn’t trust the car the lots of problems electrical and mechanical wouldn’t give us refund (only had car thirteen days) had to go to court won case but didn’t get our money bk after fees car had to be scraped

The Judge not only dismissed your claim but he exposed that both you and your husband had been untruthful in your evidence. Not only was it shown in Court that you had been dishonest from the beginning, but it also exposed that all your various postings about us were inappropriate and completely unfounded. This matter is now at an end having been concluded by the Court at your behest, you will now have to deal with the consequences of your abandonment and dishonesty yourselves.

This matter is now at an end having been concluded by the Court at your behest, you will have to deal with the further consequences of that abandonment yourselves.
