Despite reading a few disgruntled reviewed regarding Thornes of Wolverhampton I decided to look at a car they had advertised as it seemed a reasonable price and was what I wanted. Unfortunately when I arrived the car was sold, so I thought it wasn't meant to be but Adam explained he could get me a similar car if I was prepared to trust him to find one but I'd need to leave a secure deposit to show good faith as the cost of a car was considerable it was just showed my commitment compared to his. I did think why should I do a deposit but opt to as his explanation that he was outlaying a lot of money just at my request to see the car and in fairness when put like that it was not a big ask. Adam was helpful but not pushy about the deposit just explained everything, a week later my car arrived exactly as described. It went through the workshop as discussed, it had a service, some minor chips and wheel repairs all done by the thornes of Wolverhampton family team. A day later than agreed I arrived to collect it as workshop didn't get it back in time due to bmw not delivering a part on time, no big thing as I'd rather be a day late than have to keep returning back. Until adam had seen the car so how could anyone give a date for collecting as they needed to check it to know what was needed. So again I don't see that as an issue as I was kept up to date. My experience is that I was given clear and concise updates on the process of what was to become my car as it happened. I was very happy with the way I was treated respectfully and my exact requirements were met. All I can say is me and beautiful mini are very happy with Adam and the thornes team as they were a breath of fresh air. Well done thornes of Wolverhampton I will be recommending you to all my friends and family and I would like to add that the negative reviews seem to be because Adam wouldn't supply a substandard vehicle to a person and as he explained to me if there was anything wrong, yes I'd get my deposit back when he got it back from where he brought it from as he was in the same position as I am. so my only conclusion is that not everyone is as honest as Adam and thornes of Wolverhampton, Continue your good work and ignore the people whom didn't get to purchase from such a friendly company thank you.

Having had problems with previous car dealers Adam was a breath of Fresh air. he couldn't of been more efficient and helpful. He also held the car for us, for a couple of weeks, as we weren't from town. Only one small thing was one of the keys didn't work. Have spoken To Adam and he is paying for it to be fixed. We have given the car a very good run (we live in Kent) and can't find any fault at all.

I have had the same experience as JAMIELEEWV I test drove an Amarok as advertised , Agreed a price and at the point Adam was very helpful and considerate as a dealer. As part of the agreement to purchase there was some minor cosmetic work to be carried out , paint chips and replacement of A pillar vinyl protectors on the Amarok by the Local VW dealer . A deposit of £500.00 was paid on the 12th July , by again to save time and costs as indicated by Adam via bank transfer. However I was then told that the main dealer had found a major engine fault which would mean weeks of the vehicle being off the road being repaired and that I could either carry out with the purchase or stop and my deposit would be refunded. I decided not to proceed and requested my deposit to be repaid , provided Adam my bank details and waited. Now nearly 1 month later I have still not had my deposit repaid back , Contacted Adam , to be told , It had been paid, then was told, its a problem with the bank and they were putting a trace on the money. I checked with my Bank , they told me no funds had never been transferred. He now states that the money has now been transferred back into his account , this was the 9th August and that I would see the funds in my account 10th August , still nothing , told me he would confirm by email he had sent the deposit funds back, nothing to date. I note that as an RAC approved dealer, the terms of being an approved dealer means he should either take the deposit on a card which affords you protection or by an escrow account. Per Criterion C11 - Protection of Deposits and Pre-payments RAC Dealer terms and conditions , code of conduct , so he is operating outside of the RAC approved dealer code of conduct in taking deposits by bank transfer to his own bank account. We will be taking Adam to court to seek repayment of our deposit and will be raising an official complaint with the RAC dealership scheme. Unfortunately our experience means we cannot recommend this dealer and would suggest people avoid.

Thought this guy (Adam) was a genuine and reputable dealer. Not sure on experiences other people have had going off other reviews I thought the car buying process would be simple and straightforward with this dealer. How wrong I was. Was sold the car (vw scrirocco) and the dealer was quick to pester myself about when my finance company would pay out. Which they did 2 days after everything was signed. Arranged to pick the car up Saturday June 4th but had little to no reply to texts from the dealer until the Monday. Finally had a response in which I was told the car could not be sold due to damage upon rac inspection. Sounds fishy. Surely these checks would have been done before taking a customers money? Was told the car would need to be sent back to VW in sherwsbury and I would need to go back to the dealer to collect my £260 deposit. Kindly asked if he could do me a bank transfer instead to save myself on the journey. Was told yes that's fine gave bank details. Almost a week later and no money, contacted dealer to which was told his wife had sent a cheque despite agreeing on bank transfer. Cheque didn't arrive to which the dealer said he would cash the money into my bank the following day as I'd been waiting over a week. Was told money would be in my account by 11am on the 14th June. It's now 6pm on the 14th June and the dealer has ignored several text messages and phone calls and I'm still without my money. Will be going down myself to collect the money in cash tomorrow. Absolutely awful service from a so called reputable dealer which I hope to never deal with again. Doesn't seem bothered at all about getting me my money back and ignoring messages and calls when he has my money is out of order. The dealer was quick to pester myself to get the money for a car he never even sold my though. Would not recommend to family or friends at all, and hopefully more people realise how bad the service off this guy is. Avoid!!

Bought a Vauxhall Adam, back in Jan 2016 from Thorns of Wolverhamton. Had not left a review until now as wanted to run the car for a while before giving a review, plus the car had just had it annual service from Vauxhall, the car is lovely and has run well since purchase, Just had the Vauxhall annual service and MOT and had no issues at all. We purchased the car from Adam, he was a genuine and pleasure to deal with. Would definitely purchase another car from him, excellent customer service Would recommend to anyone buying a new car.

The dealer was excellent and the quality of the car I bought was exactly as described and was a joy to buy from a good dealer I would recommend any1 to buy from them
