It was all fine until the original salesperson left after receiving our first order. Two years later, after numerous lies, we are still waiting for the last two vans. After receiving four out of the six, apart from the first van, they have all had their separate but individual issues, such as, missing parking sensors, ply line, and hub caps. After patiently waiting, we received the good news: the vans were ready to collect, Only to find out on collection that they had two seats, not three. On the day, the salesperson was very keen and helpful to get this resolved and came up with a few options. Only to receive an email the next day basically saying tough luck; it's not in the paperwork, even though it was clearly a requirement, hence why the previous four vans were delivered with three seats. What has happened to honest, trustworthy companies?
Collected a car to move on from Vauxhall toomey Basildon Sales went above and beyond especially Amanda in sales
I bought a used Mokka a year ago. Salesman did everything he could to avoid a test drive. I quickly realised why. It took 6 months to get rid of the smell of smoking in the car. We returned to the service department as the car was holding back and no acceleration and we were charged £115 for a fuel filter. And told if they don’t find a fault we need to pay for the diagnostic check at £170 if I remember correctly. The fault continued, the brakes also screeched in reverse. The auto gear changes were awful and the rear number plate was wonky. Toomey agreed to change the brake part under warranty. Brake calliper damper.but informed me it was a normal service item and was simply worn out. I was told that the gear box was fine and no problem found. Apparently the mechanic has test driven the car ( I assume the odometer was disconnected during the test drive as mileage has changed very little at under a mile ) I was told the wonky rear plate would be sorted. ‘It wasn’t ‘ The wait to have the brakes sorted was about six weeks. I gave up. My local mobile mechanic has just serviced the car. The brakes were due to the fact that my Mokka didn’t have the brake caliper dampers fitted from new( which apparently Toomey’s had checked ) The gearbox was due to the fact the transmission fluid was thick and black, it should be red. The sluggishness and problems were caused by the fuel pressure control valve, that was faulty. My mobile mechanic sorted out the car in about an hour that Toomey’s team failed to find. I recently called Toomey’s to have an under warranty, brand new Vauxhall Vivaro van repaired with an AdBlue fault. The wait time seven weeks !! I explained we desperately need to van for business, I was told that’s the soonest. I even explained we buy 6 vans new every year or two and was told, it’s still seven weeks. Obviously the vans we are about to buy will be the Citroen badged version and definitely not from Toomey if a warranty repair takes a minimum of 7 weeks. The staff running service reception were lovely, very polite, I dearly feel for them as they deserve a dealership that has a service department and sales department that is less incompetent. I’d certainly never recommend Toomey’s as a reliable trustworthy company. I’ll fix the wonky number plate myself, but will order new as mine say Toomey’s on them.

Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ I am compelled to share my horrendous experience with Toomey Car Garage, a place that claims to offer reliable service but fails miserably in delivering on its promises. My decision to purchase a family car from this establishment has been nothing short of a nightmare. From the very beginning, this vehicle has proven to be a colossal disappointment, plagued with a myriad of issues that have not only inconvenienced my family but also drained our time, energy, and finances. Below, I will succinctly outline the litany of problems we have encountered, all of which have been brought to the attention of the Toomey Customer Relations group. The first repair occurred shortly after the purchase when the windscreen pump was non-functional, leaving us without the ability to effectively clean the windscreen. While this issue was covered under warranty and ultimately fixed, it should never have been a problem in the first place. The second repair revealed a far more severe issue. The car repeatedly went into limp mode, frequently cutting out and refusing to start, while simultaneously displaying a myriad of warning signs. Astonishingly, we discovered that there was a recall for this particular issue, a fact that Toomey Car Garage conveniently neglected to inform us about. Although the repair was ultimately covered under warranty, the gross negligence on the part of the garage in failing to communicate such crucial information is inexcusable. However, the pinnacle of our disastrous experience has been the ongoing third repair, which remains unresolved to this day. Initially, the car was misfiring, and we were advised to have the spark plugs changed. During the test drive, the technician detected a knocking noise in the steering column, a new and alarming issue. This problem was duly reported and deemed to require a new steering linkage. Subsequently, the steering linkage was replaced, but to our dismay, the knocking noise persisted. A new steering column was determined to be necessary, which had to be ordered from France, leading to an extensive delay. When the replacement steering column finally arrived and was installed, we were informed that the issue persisted. Shockingly, we were informed that the supplied steering column was defective, necessitating yet another order for a new one. As a result, I have been trapped with an inadequate small car that cannot accommodate my daughter's pram. I am currently burdened with exorbitant car payments for a vehicle I have been unable to utilize. It is worth reiterating that the Toomey Car Garage has been fully aware of all these complaints throughout the ordeal. The consequences of Toomey Car Garage's incompetence extend far beyond mere inconvenience. Both my partner and I have sacrificed countless hours of work, and my daughter has been deprived of activities for which we have already paid. The financial strain is exacerbated by the fact that we are continually making payments for a car that has effectively become an expensive paperweight. Toomey Car Garage's abysmal handling of our situation has been nothing short of abhorrent. Their failure to rectify the recurring issues with the vehicle in a timely manner demonstrates a complete disregard for their customers' well-being and satisfaction. I strongly advise anyone considering utilizing Toomey Car Garage's services to proceed with extreme caution. Their promises of reliability and quality are nothing more than empty marketing rhetoric, while their actions reveal a shocking level of incompetence and negligence. Save yourself the anguish and disappointment by seeking a reputable and trustworthy car garage that prioritizes customer satisfaction and delivers on their promises.

Purchased a Vauxhall van very satisfied with my purchase and rob the sales fellow was especially good in order to get the vehicle quickly top Mark's.
Purchasing from Toomey's was the worse decision I have ever made. I purchased a Nissan Pulsar from Toomey's in February 2018 and its proved to be the biggest mistake I have ever made. I had a number of issues which I raised in a professional but firm manner but rather than dealing with the cause they responded by telling me to go elsewhere. The last problem related to a body alignment issue and went on for months when they told me I would have to pay an inspection fee of £180. I complained to Nissan UK and they arranged for an independent examination to be carried out. When the Engineer saw the issue he went off and got a small spanner and resolved this issue in under 5 mins. Furthermore he confirmed it was not due to impact damage as stated by Toomey's. Now when I want to have the Car Serviced to comply with my warranty I have to make a round trip of approximately 40 miles. I am nearly 70 and last week I asked if they would carry out my Service to comply with my warranty and they refused even when I explained my wife and I had been isolating since March only going out for essential food, Hospital appointments and outdoor exercise. I now have to take it to Chelmsford which is a higher risk Covid 19 area and wait in their shrowroom for approximately 3 hours. I am really worried about this but Toomey's simply do not care.

Absolutely disgusted with Toomeys Basildon as i had an electrical fault whereby my left indicator was not working and the coolant warning was constantly coming on. This was all due to driving through a large puddle and getting water in the fusebox. I fully explained this and the fact i had already had an auto electrician look at this as Toomeys had recommended this as they were fully booked for weeks. He told me i had to go to a main dealer to get this sorted. I dropped my car off at 8.00am and finally got a phone call at 3.45 telling me i was next to be looked at. About 10 minutes later i was told that the car had been looked at and was fine other then a cracked lid on the coolant container. I stated that i had issues with the indicator and was told by the receptionist that it was working when she drove it in to the workshop. I was then told it was intermittent but seemed to be working. Something i knew was a load of rubbish. I turned up to be told i only owed for the cap that was replaced. I challenged the receptionist and told her an auto electrician had looked at the car and the indicator was definitely not working so how could it have worked for her? I went to the car and lo and behold the indicator was not working and the coolant warning came on. When i went back and told the receptionist that basically they had not done anything i was told if i wanted to i could leave the car for 2-3 days as that would be how long it would take to test all the electrical circuits and this would cost £106 per hour. Unbelievable, I bought this car from practically new and have had main dealer servicing for 6 years. I have also had faults which i feel i have been way overcharged but have kept faith in Toomeys as they are a main dealer. I am part exchanging the car and buying a new one which will definitely not be a vauxhall. I am writing this to warn everyone regarding Toomeys Basildon. Firstly the receptionist and the person who apparently looked at this are blatant liars. Secondly, the way i was treated as a long standing customer was disgraceful. I just hope the owners read this and actually do something about the shocking actions of their staff. Doubt it though. Good riddance.
The toomeys group in basildon, they are terrible don’t go anywhere near them they will rip you off and treat you badly when it really matters
