I recently had the pleasure of purchasing a car from Tyne Vehicle Buyer. I found them while searching AutoTrader, and the fact that they were local made things even easier. When I arrived at the dealership, I was greeted warmly by Alan, one of the salespeople. He made me feel right at home and answered every question I had. He made car shopping a breeze. I bought a Saab in July and before buying everything seemed lovely. The car was supposed to be serviced and have fresh mot with no advisories. The initial contact with the salesman was great. After I bought it and drove it for a few miles, a message to service xwd drive came up and I started to hear some knocking from the rear. I phoned the salesman and was told to find a local garage to have it checked. After doing so and finding out that it should be taken to a transmission specialist, I spoke to the salesman again and I was told that the boss will have to call me back to talk about it. In the meantime I've noticed that the rear of the car is lower than the front so I've made some photos and sent it to the salesman along with videos where you can hear the knocking. After being stalled for about three weeks I decided to go to a Saab specialist to have the car checked on my own. After the car was diagnosed I was told that the shock absorbers have not been replaced on a like for like basis (as I was assured), but instead with the cheapest ones you can get off the shelf, there was almost no oil in the rear differential and the car is really rusty underneath, including suspension components. The car was advertised as an excellent example with preparation including service. According to the specialists opinion there was no chance that it would pass the mot with no advisories, so nothing stated in the ad was true. There was also a few more things, as a rain sensor or electric folding mirrors, that this car was supposed to have and were listed in the ad, but it didn't. However, these were just details compared to the condition of it. Having this opinion I decided to return the car, so I wrote an email that I want a full refund. The response from the boss was pretty quick and he accepted it, but after I came in to return the car, I had to explain everything again and show the email as a proof because the salesman didn't know anything about the car being returned. Then again I had to wait another week for a response to my emails asking about the refund, and then another week for the money transfer to be made. I can't get rid of the impression that if I hadn't mentioned that I am ready to make a court claim - the refund process would take even longer.

I've got no issues to mention so I can't give anything less than top marks. Alan was spot on throughout, and when I saw the car in person compared to online, I was impressed that there weren't any disparities.

My recent purchase and experience went really smoothly. The car is running spot on. I am very happy with it and the salesman I had was very helpful and kept me informed. He made sure the car was tip-top when I collected it. It was clean and was presented. I was very pleased with the whole experience and would use them again :)
