Anthony is the owner of this business as is mentioned in several earlier reviews. He is breaking the law by not displaying his full name on his website. He does this for good reason as you will see below I would urge anybody thinking of doing business with this man, to first google "Loughton car dealer jailed" so they can make an informed decision on whether to proceed. "Motor Group" was a previous business of his. This is a matter of public interest and anybody thinking of dealing with him has a right to know the character of the person they are dealing with. I am currently in the process of suing the proprietor of this business for mis-selling & misrepresenting the warranties he provides. Make sure you ask him the claim limits & servicing conditions as they are punitive. (claim limit of £100 & a requirement to have your vehicle serviced 6 monthly or every 6k miles). None of this was explained, only that it was a "full labour & parts 2-year warranty that covered the engine, gearbox & drivetrain". In my case the engine blew 9 months from purchase despite doing less that 6k miles since purchase landing me with a £3600 bill for a £4k car. The warranty is not worth the paper it is written on due to these punitive conditions, and he will wipe his hands of you after 6 months. The warranties are provided by Lawdata Ltd, however they only administrate the warranty as it is self-funded by the dealer. Lawdata Ltd also double as the dealer's legal representative. A trustpilot search on Lawdata Ltd will reveal the general consensus of opinion on them.

I purchased a used BMW 320D from Anthony at the used car network just over 24hrs ago. On my initial call he was very helpful and facilitated taking a holding deposit and a quick collection. The car is 14years old with 177k on the clock, advertised as driving like it was a 70k car. It looks fantastic so no issues there. We took the car for a short test drive, Anthony drove the car out of the compound and I took over in the village and drove back to the compound, the test drive was OK with no apparent issues. I had concerns around the timing chain bit Anthony assured me the chain would last the life of the car and would be covered under the warranty - brilliant. The car had a new MOT on it but I noticed the NSR tyre was only just above the legal limit, Anthony offered a little discount for this which was agreeable. The drive home was over 80mi, giving me a great opportunity to get to grips with the car. As I left the seatbelt warning light for the passenger sear started pinging, I plugged it in and it stopped, not a massive issue just annoying. On the drive home along the motorway once I got past the traffic and up to 70mph there's a groaning noise coming from the car, it was notably stiff on the steering taking more work than it should to keep the car in a straight line. I got home then within 30mins I went to work so the engine hadn't cooled at all. As I went to leave work it was around 16degrees so not cold by any standard, I started the car and the revs were pulsing causing the whole car to shudder, my colleague could hear this from outside of the car too. I drove the 25mins home and it was no longer pulsing on idle, still having the noise issue with the car. I then parked my new pride and joy on the drive under the car port to keep her nice and clean. This morning I go to take my children to school and the pulsing started, it was so obvious my children even asked what it was doing. This issue appeared to ease once the car gets up to temperature but crawling through traffic at school time it was not possible to maintain constant revs so the car just pitched forward and backwards making for an uncomfortable drive. I emailed Anthony about this and received this reply: I’ve driven it quite a bit and all seemed fine, obviously it’s not going to drive or perform like a 50,000 mile car, suppose you have got to allow that it’s done 177,000 miles and it’s 14yrs old, Anthony. The car was advertised as driving like a 70k car, a later conversation resulted in Anthony saying "Well what does a 70k car drive like" -fair point and lesson learnt (the hard way) one could be well looked after, one could be a shed... Whilst I accept the cars age and mileage there would be wear and tear but there are clear mechanical defects in play here. I checked the MOT and it had NO advisories - the NSR tyre should not be a fail but most definitely an advisory, as I returned home I've also noticed a pool or oil on my drive from where it was parked overnight, again this should have been picked up on the MOT. I was not able to drive the car out of the compound so I did not see the issue with the revs, had this been seen and the other issues known I would never have purchased the car. I have asked to return the car for a refund of the amount I paid, the only cost and inconvenience caused was to myself for insurance, tax, fuel, tolls etc allowing Anthony the opportunity to repair and resell the car as he sees fit but this is not something he is willing to do. Unfortunately Anthony was not happy with this and he is seeking advice about it. Whilst I understand he is a business I looked at reviews and expected to be buying a sound car from a reputable dealer. I tried to resolve the issue prior to my review but to no avail, I'm now left with a car that's a potential money pit to get it to a standard I'd be happy to drive my children around in. I think it is only fair anyone else buying from here are aware as I'd hate for anyone else to be in this position

Very sorry for the confusion with the mot, it did have a new mot when we got it but we didn’t realise it had been advertised for 2 months, therefore only had 10 months remaining, although it hadn’t travelled any miles, but please feel free to return it to us for mot when ever you are ready, as far as spare key goes, we never said it came with one, we did say we would look for it if we had it, as we always separate any spare keys incase we loose the whole bunch, we have over 70 cars and can’t remember all the cars that do have a spare key, but once again we know people who can provide keys at very good trade rates, as far as the 3rd brake light goes, it is not an mot failure on a car of that age, please call us if we can help in any way, all the best and happy new year, regards, Anthony and the team.
Bought a bmw from the used car network last week, didn’t get there till late n anthony stayed there to show me the car, Car was lovely and well presented. There was 44 photos of the car
BEFORE YOU BUY A CAR FROM USED CAR NETWORK IN CHIGWELL, do yourself a huge favour and read this. Then draw your own conclusions... Firstly though, if you think that any part of this might be made up, I will happily give you full access to my photographic evidence and to my emails with this garage, containing details that you simply will not believe. I’ve supplied my number (below). In July 2018 I purchased a £6,000 BMW from Used Car Network in Chigwell. Less than one week after purchase I was shocked to find a piece of black tape stuck over a warning light on the dashboard to deceitfully hide a steering rack issue which a reputable BMW garage have since told me will cost over £3,000 to fix !!! There are several other issues too, but that’s the main one. Immediately advised Used Car Network of this, but far from apologising or being embarrassed that a vehicle they had sold me (or mis-sold me) had been discovered to have a dishonestly hidden serious fault, they instead refused to take it back and denied all knowledge of it. I’ve been hopelessly battling with them ever since, for 8 long months now. They are utterly useless. Despite my photographs, Anthony Thomas now denies the tape was ever there. The latest from them is that I put it there myself... within the first week of purchasing it !!! This is the sort of ludicrous insulting offensive stupidity you’ll get from these people once they’ve grabbed your hard earned money. So, today, precisely as I warned them I would do, if they didn’t do the right and reasonable thing, i have submitted my catalogue of evidence to the Trading Standards office and to the car traders Ombudsman, for them to decide if anything negligent, dishonest, unethical, fraudulent or criminal has taken place. It is likely that Anthony will now comment that this is a “fake review”, like he has stated before with several other bad reviews about his garage. But I ask you, as a reasonable person, can ALL the bad reviews about Used Car Network be fake? I can assure you my facts are 100% true and I have photos and emails to prove it. I have even supplied my phone number in order to be completely open and honest about this nightmare transaction. I only wish that Anthony Thomas had been as frank and open with me!! £6,000 out of pocket, with a £3,000 bill pending!

We are sorry that you are unhappy with the vehicle purchased by you 7 months ago. We think it is important to deal with customer complaints in a professional and timely manner. We don’t feel your comments are fair as you have omitted that we have repeatedly requested the vehicles return for a suitable inspection and repair. However we strongly dispute that the vehicle supplied was with any tape covering a fault and that your attempts to insist on a full refund for a vehicle that has been used throughout its ownership travelling circa 7,000 miles and has not mechanically failed. Please contact us to arrange the vehicles return for inspection.

Many thanks for the lovely review.
Myself and my other half had been looking to replace our Ford C-Max for some time as we needed 7 seats rather than the 5 our ford had, after a few weeks searching we eventually found a Vauxhall Zafira that fitted the bill, it looked very well presented in the pictures and looked even better when we saw it in the flesh! The staff at the dealers were more than helpful in part exchanging our ford and gave us more than we were expecting AND the car even came with a 2 year warrantee which was a huge bonus! Pleasure to deal with from start to finish! Thanks Joel for making everything so simple and easy!

Many thanks for the great review.
I bought a Mazda from this dealership back in April and he serive was pretty average. They could have been more informative and they failed to tell us that we would have to leave a deposit and it took us who hours to drive down. But the car is running good and was a pretty good price. I would recommend.

Sorry there was a misunderstanding with regard to the deposit, this is normal industry practice though, we appreciate your feedback regards, Anthony.
