this must be one of the worst garages for after sales care you can get, once the sale is done you won't hear from them, my friend purchase a car from them. We turned up early to pick the car up to spot one of the mechanic/sales team painting the bumper with a paint brush haha. On the same day my friend took the car home the spoiler fell off on the bypass (it was glued on and the nuts were missing to secure it so we cable tied it on) also really bad burning oil smell from engine bay, my friend would like to cancel the finance as its still in the cooling off period but they are making it hard for her. Avoid this garage! All they are doing is selling Bridgends trade in garbage...
Third time buying a car from Vechile trade center,Willie thanks for all your help and for bringing car to us. Carol Bell

Purchased a small van from the Kilmarnock VTC. Despite abundant notice of our arrival, it was clear that the vehicle check list did not match the state of this vehicle. In fact it is quite concerning as there were so many outstanding discrepancies. Interior trims were 'marked' as inspected and good, however the driver's door seal was badly shredded and the side door seal was also worn and damaged. Windscreen wipers, were also marked as inspected and good, Yet, on driving away in a heavy shower, it immediately became apparent that the wipers, especially driver's side, was basically useless, badly perished and barely made contact with the windscreen. The initial plan by VTC was simply to remove and fit a set from another vehicle! Only when none fitted, and some considerable time later, did a man, who didn't work for VTC removed a new set from a box and fitted them. On asking, I was eventually told that the van's last service was carried out in 2015, but was offered a complimentary oil and filter change while carrying out the paperwork. On arriving home, we dipped the oil with a competent neighbour on hand and instead of new clear, amber fluid, what we found was thick, black and highly viscous. On arrival at the Kilmarnock branch (10.30 am), both my son & I overheard a staff member on the phone telling a customer that the workshop was closed, so not sure where or who carried out this alleged oil/filter change? Not a great experience at all. Although the initial sales adviser sounded competent and helpful, when we visited the Kilmarnock branch, staff seemed disinterested, unprepared and distracted. Would neither trust, use again nor recommend.

Vehicle trade centre from Vehicle Trade Centre Kilmarnock in response to Pre Sales Vehicle Checks Meaningless
Sarah home. We have looked into your review The van purchased from our kilmarnock branch was a diesel van which was given an oil change by the workshop at short notice. We have offered to have this changed before your arrival but you wanted to view the van before purchase. On arrival you were greeted by 3 members of our sales team and shown the van in which you were happy with the condition for an 8 year old commercial vehicle. The paperwork was completed in a timely fashion . After changing Diesel oil in an engine it will always look blackish and never a golden colour after only a very! short period of time. This is because the old oil residue left when the oil is changed will always retain a certain amount of contamination and cause the discolouration. The workshop was open until 12 oclock and the customer on the phone wanted to book a car in on sat afternoon in which the workshop would be closed. I understand you may have had concerns as you overheard a conversation in which you have picked up wrongly as you only overheard. I am sorry you have felt you have had to reach out however we do not believe this reflects the service provided on the day

Brought a used van, reasonable price. Had an electrical issue which was sorted free of charge. Would use Vehicle Trade Centre in Kilmarnock again.
Shocking experiences at Vehicle Trade Centre Kilmarnock! I was sold a car that proved to have been allowed out of their premises without having been checked AT ALL!! My mistake was in trusting the manager to ensure it was ready and safe to go but NO, it was NOT! I did not look at the engine or test drive it before purchase which was a big mistake but I have a trusting nature. Firstly, I discovered there was no screenwash to clear the windscreen. That alone would have been dangerous if weather conditions had changed for the worst. However, on my first full day of driving it, I heard a rubbing sound and ticked that off as something to be fixed under the minimal 30 day warranty given. That was not needed as when driving on a busy motorway, the car engine began to labour almost to a standstill, the thermostat suddenly shot up to 130 and I had to pull in to the hard shoulder while smoke belched out from under the bonnet. After contacting the same manager, I was told to arrange pick up through my own breakdown insurance service!! I had to pay for that! I stood for over an hour freezing and soaked in the rain. On arrival at the centre, I was apologised to but they had stayed past their working hours so rushed me away asap in a courtesy car I wasn't used to with an electronic handbrake. I also had to ask the salesman to remove the for sale signs etc from the front windscreen and side window which he had forgotten to do. I had asked through chattering teeth for them to give me my house keys from the car keyring. They forgot so I could not get into my flat once home. That's another story of distress they caused. Next day because I didn't feel safe in the courtesy car, I returned it and was told they had nothing else to give me until the car was looked at and fixed! I refused to take the car back after its engine had been 'fried' and asked for a refund. I was told I could have the refund or look at another car of the same make and model but 3 years younger but costing an extra £1000 This was supposed to cost £4500 and I would get it for £4000 Joke! The market value of the car was no way more than £4000 to begin with. However, again giving them a chance to redeem themselves as the manager assured me nothing like this would happen again and they would check and double check everything was in order before purchase. A test drive was then arranged for 2pm so they had three days to have it ready for that. I arrived with my daughter at 2 pm and after more apologies and it will be ten minutes..every ten minutes saying it was being cleaned, we were still waiting at 2.55pm. The car was driven round...NOT cleaned!!!! That was when I blew a gasket and demanded my money back immediately. No added refund for the £20 pickup fee I paid or £40 for change over of insurance plus loss of a months road tax not to mention a supply of cold remedies and painkillers needed for the sciatica flare-up caused by standing by a roadside being soaked and frozen.

Staff from Vehicle Trade Centre Kilmarnock in response to Shocking! Extremely bad experience
The sales staff stayed behind for our customer ,supplying our customer with a courtesy car and keeping them on the road at all times . We offered to repair the car in which customer agreed to and later changing there mind. The customer was offered the vehicle repaired and was also offered a change of vehicle in which they refused and were supplied a full refund on the spot i would say that was good customer service.
I have recently purchased my first car from Vehicle Trade Centre (Kilmarnock) the lads were very helpful and knowledgeable and answered all questions I had before buying. After doing the test drive I was still apprehensive but was quickly eased as they had my car checked again for me in the garage when I asked. Very pleased with my first car!! When i picked it up it almost looked brand new and I had many compliments on how shiny it looked. I will definitely return for my next car.
