The owner of VIP Car Sales owes me £8400 as deposit on a car I have never got. Now he's gone out of business. That was 2 weeks ago. A week before he was preparing the car allegedly. So he must have known he was going bust, so taking money in that way is fraud. Does anyone know where he is, can anyone help recover my money?

NEVER USE THIS GARAGE!!! Please under no circumstance get involved with this garage. On the 5th February 2017 – I Visited VIP Car sales in Knutsford with my fiancé and we viewed a Toyota Yaris Registration FV64SYY and was told by the salesman Richard Sean Gleave that the car had a full service history and 3 years manufacturer’s warranty left on the vehicle. We agreed a total price of £8150 less a part exchange value of £350 for a Renault Clio. Richard then claimed his credit card machine was not working and could only accept electronic bank transfers. So reluctantly I transferred by internet banking the balance due of £7800.00 to the account details as shown on the vehicle sales order. We were then told by Richard that he knew the O2 sensor was faulty and he was booking the car in with Toyota to have it repaired under warranty and also he was having the tracking checked and the wheels balanced so we could not take the car but promised the car should be ready for next early next week. To cut things short it turned out the car had no FSH and Toyota wouldn’t honour the manufacturer’s Warranty and since we had no new car we requested a full refund on the 21st Feb 2017. To date March 2017 VIP Car sales refuse to answer telephone calls, emails or letters. They are not a limited company with disgusting service and if u read other reviews about the garage they have appalling reviews. I would never trust them ever again YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
Yaris buyer in response to All buyers and sellers beware
I bought this very same car FV64SYY in January and your review reads like a re-run of my experience. I rejected it for the same reasons: no FSH, no Toyota Warranty - which means VIP knew this when it was sold to you. Did you find the water in the boot? I returned it under the Consumer Rights Act, and they promptly put it back on sale (without fixing the faulty sensor) and sold it AGAIN (to you), and didn't refund me. And the whole time it has remained on finance.

Just to say that Mr Richard Gleave was arrested by the police at the vip car sales garage in Knutsford on Monday the 6th of March 2017, Mr Richard Gleave owes 100s of thousands of pounds to people where by he sold their cars on their behalf and never paid them their money back besides other fraudulent matters. The police have sized the garage and it's stock pending further investigation. The website has also been taken down!

I have had the misfortune of encountering Mr Richard Sean Gleave in the past and am also owed a considerable sum of money. Sadly, I can confirm to you all that the entire stock of VIP car sales was removed by bailiffs yesterday, Wednesday 9th March 2017. I wish I could advise you on how to legally proceed against such a despicable character personally, but unfortunately the business is registered at Companies House with his wife, Mrs Rachel Gleave, listed as the sole Director - https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/08518741/officers.

Don't know if you have heard but a receiver has been appointed for VIP Car Sales namely Shalila Ellahi Tel:0161 234 8522.
I brought a Range Rover from VIP Car Sales only to find out that after I paid for it and got the logbook that they put it on a stocking list when approached fed a load of rubbish had to approach the company that he refinanced it through to get all the markers sifted also the warranty is not worth the paper its written on I had to pay a dealer £1900 to get it put right stay away.
Much like a drunken tattoo on holiday it seems like a good idea at the time but really isn't. Ok the good stuff first, the price was reasonable. Now for everything else, once VIP Car Sales have your money any form of caring disappears instantly. They said the car would be ready on the Monday and we went to collect it wasn't ready. We were offered a courtesy car while we waited (a 20 year old Toyota Corolla with ripped seats and in general bad order). We decided not to take it and it was 2 more days before the car was ready. This caused problems with work. Then two weeks in the engine management light came on (diesel polo 2011 it was the egr valve which is a £500 part from vw) we rang and no answer when you try to get through to aftersales. We rang again to talk to sales which answered immediately and then seemed markedly disinterested once we mentioned there was an issue. Rather than fight them to try and get it done under warranty we just got it done at a local garage. We did this based on how they were and estimated how much time it would take before we actually got the problem fixed and it was just easier (and probably cheaper in the long run) to get it done ourselves. They never sent the log book off (we eventually rang the dvla who said it had never been sent to them) we rang a few times to ask and it was "in the post" or "must have been lost in the post" they said they would apply for a replacement which they never did. Eventually we just had to pay the dvla to get one. Reading other reviews it looks like we got off lightly. Basically I wouldn't buy another car off of VIP Car Sales, all they want is your money and that's it.

NEVER USE THIS GARAGE!!! Please under no circumstance get involved with this garage. I contacted Richard Gleaves in May to sell my 2015 plate BMW on my behalf, also known as a car consignment sale. After months of reducing the price, the car finally sold on 11th November. After numerous failed bank transfers and bounced cheques, I have no car, no log book and no payment. Richard no longer takes my phone calls and has left me with no other choice than to have my solicitor take over matters. They sell your car, finances provided by Santander, which they pocket along with the deposit from the new owner. Then they fob you off for months on end. Richard Gleaves has dissolved companies in his name, CCJ's against him and an avalanche of unhappy customers. The garage is under such financial turmoil that they have taken to hiring a bouncer for the garage to keep out the wrath of unhappy customers. Richard Gleaves/ VIP Car Sales is all over the net if you need further confirmation of his behaviour!

I had a similar experience. Bought a car, struggled to get delivery of it. Told me taxed for six months it wasn't. Told me log book sent off it wasn't. I paid £25 to get a log book takes six weeks. Also sued them no service as stated on particulars and faults. Sent the sheriffs in to get my money.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I wish I would have read reviews before buying a car from them . I would never use them again. I took my new car home with the wrong reg plate ( my private plate on) and the company's manager tols me I had a grace period for this. Saying they'll send off documents to get the car moved to my private plate and to put the reg doc in my name, and lying and fobbing me off . 6 weeks later I phoned DVLA who had never received the paperwork. I phoned loads of times to the garage and they were lying to me, they obviously had lost the paperwork and never sent it. So I had been driving in the wrong plate for 6 weeks!!! Then to top it off I couldn't get the original correct plates made while waiting for a new log book which I had to pay for!! I rang them 4 times with them promising each time that my old correct plates were in the post to me and that was 2 weeks ago and there still not here. We are still waiting for reimbursement for a new key which we were promised on sale of the car. DIsgusting service and if u read other reviews about the managers they have appalling reviews. Would never trust them ever again.

DEAR BUYER, SELLER, PRETTY MUCH ANYONE DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY. Took my Car to VIP in May for them to sell on my behalf. After 6 months of lies, bounced cheques and bacs payments that never materialised I now have my car back with myself having to fork out for various electrical repairs due to their complete unprofessionalism. To top it off the deposit the new owner had paid is still in Richard and his wifes Rachel Gleaves back pocket along with the 16k he is due to Santander for the finance they set up. This year has been horrendous and the problems are still ongoing. I will update as it progresses. PLEASE ANYONE THINKING OF USING THIS COMPANY DON'T.
