Purchased a car from VP for our daughter in Feb 2022, over 6,000 pounds! not small money to us! from the first week it went wrong, had to call out the AA and was told there was no oil in the engine!! but was given a MOT receipt when we purchased it from VP!!! since then it has had a new cambelt (VP paid for that, we are still not sure it was done), coil packs, Spark plugs, but the car is still undrivable! the engine makes a terrible noice and the warning lights are on! it keeps mis-firing so we have an independent mobile mechanic looking at it this week to get his opinion. We just want to get rid of the car now! Not sure why Trading Standards is not getting involved?? VP keep taking ppls money and laughing! Meanwhile my daughter is having to get on a bus to work!

Feel for you Mandy! Looks like a mechanic has to take off the head and replace the values in our car!! I’m dreading the quote tomorrow! We just want to fix it and then sell to another dealer…I wouldn’t give this car to my worst enemy!

Mandy, so sorry to hear about your experience with VP! We are also struggling with the car we purchased for our daughter in Feb 22! When did you purchase your car? was it at the Aveley Site?
Purchased car 2months ago. Has faulty parts with multiple faults. Worst experience. their contact number/email is not reachable

Avoid at all costs, you’ll be fed a bunch of lies until you buy the car and then hear nothing back from them after. This company sold me a car £8750 two weeks ago that is not as described. I asked them specifically were there any marks on the panels or work that needed to be done to the car and they said the car was fine with no dents. The car arrived and has marks on almost every panel, it has is a warning light which should have been picked up at the MOT (done just a few days earlier) the car is missing 5 YEARS(!!) service history when I was told it has Full Service History, the liner for the sunroof sags down to the point of touching the headrests, there is overspray on a headlight from work done and much more. They have not returned calls/emails. They haven’t signed the warranty cover either. These people want to make the sale and then you won’t get any customer service after. The good reviews on here look like they have been bought. Avoid Avoid Avoid!!

I've had exactly the same experience..... once sold they don't wanna know about any problems. The list on the motor I bought is nothing short of shocking..... & 3500 miles over the advertised mileage..... yes, avoid at all costs...
Bought a car off them in February.... have done around 800 miles in the car, can no longer drive it because it has so many issues. They will not answer emails, contacted AA as they are one of their accredited garages....they can't even get to talk to them! So am in the process of taking them to court.... worst experience of buying a car I've ever had.... wouldn't recommend them to my enemy......

Have spoken to Autotrader about the situation, basically can't get involved... said to them how can cars be sold under their umbrella, but can't take any responsibility for them....... washed their hands of it.... shocking...
LM in response to Ignorant....
They also trade under 1clickcarcredit.co.uk - this redirects to the VP Ltd website. Listed in google and on here as a separate company. Shall we all join forces and take them to court as a "job lot" and ask the other verified reviews on the same? I'm up for it. Just been told by Kwik Fit my card needs £1400 worth of work done - I took it in there to have the 4 EXTRA litres of oil taken out of the engine that they put in when they "serviced" the car before delivering it!
rick jurd in response to Ignorant....
Well, havnt got anywhere with them as it stands.... they have disappeared.....not at their address anymore, phone number is disconnected.... the courts couldn't deliver any mail to them.... so whoever had a vehicle off of these clowns, & has heaps of trouble with it... looks like we've all been done over.... bunch of con artists I would say.....😡😡

If you talk to Citizen's Advice about your experience, they alert Trading Standards (in your area) on your behalf. If you're in the Essex area even better, as TS Essex will be notified and if there are enough alerts about VP Cars they'll have a case.
We bought a car unseen off their description, initial communication was fantastic, all questions promptly answered & videos sent of the car. However, we were charged for delivery despite them advertising free delivery, the car didn’t arrive on three occasions as arranged & upon eventually receiving the vehicle there was a dent in the door, the wheels were terribly corroded, it was unvaleleted & full of pet hair. No spare key, no AA inspection or logbook. After driving the car a maximum of 50 metres the engine management light illuminated so it was taken to a local garage at Virtual Performance’s instruction. An oil leak was found that was so severe that we were told the engine would’ve either seized or the car burst into fire as it was leaking onto the exhaust should we have driven it home from the dealers. Numerous loose parts were found & a £900.00 bill was presented to us for repair. The bill was sent to VP as requested but went unpaid as did the £300 invoice for the wheel refurbishment & the £100 for a smart repair to the door. The car was unusable for the first month of ownership with VP avoiding all telephone calls, emails & WhatsApp messages with recorded delivery letters being refused. Luckily we put £200 on a credit card & have just been refunded all out of pocket expenses by our bank. Avoid these people at all costs unless you have an affliction to undue stress & aggravation in your life, if so these jokers will give you that in spades.

Purchased a Ford S-Max last month for around £8k. Told had a full aa inspection and was immaculate. Promised in writing a couple of immediate issues would be rectified within 14 days of receipt inc. broken windscreen and tail light. Nothing fixed and no communication. This dealer is not part of AA cars as advertised. Companies house has two v.performance’s registered at the address. The one listed on their website is not aa registered. Wrote to dealer requesting an independent inspection, ignored. Wrote to dealer requesting huge list of faults fixed, ignored. AVOID AVOID AVOID! Apparent fraudulent activity going on here! O, and their operating address has no delivery address so all post returned so had to use Directors address as listed on companies house. Too many defects to list but glueing on trim panels is not fixing something. Sending a cheap knock off Chinese 2nd key that is not cut or programmed is not a second key. Broken headrests, bodywork cracked, brakes appear not legal, inspection was falsified, etc etc. They use 2nd hand, poor condition, parts to make repairs. Or, cheap aftermarket knockoff parts off of eBay. NOT TO BE TRUSTED. Please please avoid yourself the trouble of using this garage. It looks like we will be going to court as they simply won’t respond to us.

Just wonderd if you're taking these guys to court and if you wanted to join forces, as we've had the same issues this month too.
A.Notridge in response to Not to be trusted!
Would love to join forces as AA Cars have now completely washed their hands of this dealer. They won’t take any responsibility whatsoever which is disgusting. We are currently in the position of awaiting a full inspection report on what needs doing and were about to start court proceedings ourselves.

Great - here is a temp. email address for you to reply to so we can get each other details withou them being shared on here! pojod66546@angeleslid.com

Bought a vehicle 6 months ago, engine has since seized due to excessive heat exposure caused loose components and poor maintenance practices whilst vehicle was under their charge, this has caused £0000’s worth of costs. When contacting for warranty or response, they don’t answer the phone and they do not respond to emails I have had a genuine manufacturers technician to inspect the vehicle and has provided evidence of said poor maintenance and workmanship. Avoid this dealership!

Bought a car a month or two ago from this dealership, had nearly a thousand pounds worth of problems that needed fixing, they said they'd look into paying the cost to get it fixed but rarely responded/ignored my messages, they then changed numbers when i tried to contact them again and heard nothing since, also said the vehicle would get serviced but this never happened. Not great at communicating.
