"Disappointing Audi RS6 Purchase"
1.4 out of 5 stars

Resolving issues

As a loyal Audi customer for nearly 20 years, my recent experience with Whetstone Audi and Audi UK has been incredibly disappointing. In mid-January, my wife and I purchased a brand new Audi RS6 from Whetstone Audi, part of the Group 1 Automotive franchise. Upon receipt, we discovered multiple issues: the car was covered in scratches, had misaligned steering, damaged suspension, and 49 miles on the odometer. These problems were unacceptable for a brand new vehicle and immediately shattered our expectations. The process to address these issues was stressful and time-consuming, involving countless emails, phone calls, and visits to the dealership. It took nearly four months, until May 22, and the involvement of Audi UK to finally get all the issues resolved. It is unacceptable that a brand new vehicle required such extensive repairs to meet basic quality standards. Despite the resolution of these issues, the compensation offered was insufficient and dismissive of the inconvenience and disappointment we faced. Initially, Audi UK offered £500, which was just 0.43% of the £114,950 I paid for the car. After much negotiation, Whetstone Audi increased the compensation to £1500, which still only represents about 1.3% of the car's purchase price. This still feels inadequate considering the value of the car and the fact that I essentially received a car in the condition of an ex-demo model rather than the brand new vehicle I paid for. My biggest regret is not returning the car immediately upon discovering the issues. Had I known the appalling condition of the car, I would not have proceeded with the purchase. The expectation of receiving a flawless, brand new vehicle was completely unmet. I feel the compensation should put me back in the same situation I was in prior to the issues, which is not the case here. In conclusion, this experience has significantly tarnished my perception of Audi's quality and customer service. I advise potential customers to avoid Whetstone Audi, part of Group 1 Automotive. If you do purchase from them and find any issues, return the car immediately and get your money back. They will drag things out until you no longer have that option and then fail to address the situation fairly. When I purchase my next Audi RS6, I certainly will not use Whetstone Audi or any other Group 1 Automotive dealer. Pros: The RS6, once repaired, is an excellent car. Final compensation of £1500 was eventually provided. The sales team was polite, helpful, and responsive to emails. Cons: Initial car condition was unacceptable. Long and stressful resolution process. Initial compensation offer of £500 and final compensation of £1500 were both insufficient. Significant time and effort wasted. I don't feel I got the brand new car I paid for. Car had 49 miles on the clock upon delivery. I hope Audi takes this feedback seriously and works towards ensuring such issues do not recur for other customers at Whetstone Audi and Group 1 Automotive.

I traveled some distance to look at a one owner vehicle and being assured by the salesman that was the case I placed a deposit. Thankfully I’m involved in the motor trade and decided to double check Not very pleased to find out the car had four previous owners. My advice to anyone thinking of purchasing a vehicle from Whetstone Audi don’t trust what you are being told by desperate salespeople do your own checks.

"Avoid Chris Beazley"

Had a interview arranged with Chris Beazley the after sales manager via recruitment company. Even though he acts like he’s a big shot when he is just a nobody. I have over the years I’ve been interviewed by various dealerships and numerous other companies who are more prestigious, more expensive than Audi such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Land Rover but I have never ever come across an awful person as arrogant and as rude as Chris Beazley.  I received nothing but disrespect from him, constant digs, sarcastic comments and continuously putting words into my mouth. I felt he was purposefully trying to test me, antagonise me for his own pleasure and unknown to me the interview turned out to be a complete assassination of my character and my morals and I believe this was a set up for Chris to try hit me where it hurts and nothing makes sense as we’ve never met before and he knows nothing about me and made it clear I wasn’t a good fit, I’ve just wished I’ve had been rejected in the first place before having any form of contact with me to start with and especially arranging an interview with me. To make matters worse I emailed Chris and his management team who yet I still have not heard from. I received a reply from Chris saying he was going to take me on board, but unknown to Chris I had a conversation with my agency and told me he had a chat with Chris and has said he definitely had no interest in taking me on board. This also totally shows Chris is dishonest liar to cover his own tracks and thought at the same time he could assault my intelligence which backfired against him. I’m glad no money or business was involved and I can imagine what a con man and cowboy Chris Beazley is if any sort business were to be involved, hope he gets what he deserves and I’m certainly glad I don’t own an Audi as I always had BMW’s as their cars are superior in every aspect in quality, reliability and status and definitely in customer service. Is this the teaching of Whetstone Audi and to treat customers as if they are dirt underneath your shoe?

"Awful service, please do not go there. "

Absolutely disgusted by the way me and my car were treated at Whetstone Audi. Truly disappointing experience, from the moment I drove into the dealership. Firstly, I had a rude service technician who aggressively hand gestured me from pulling into the dealership so that he could park two cars along the main road away from the forecourt. The awful experience continued when I went into the dealership and up to the reception. Both receptionists looked me up and down with a disgusted look on their faces, which made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome, especially given I was bringing my car in for a recall which Audi UK had requested customers to do. When the receptionist did finally acknowledge me, it took her 5 condescending attempts to understand my name correctly (which was far from difficult to say). The horrific experience continued when I came to collect my car and saw it parked at an angle along a dropped kerb by an A1000 high road, and away from the dealership. Words could not describe how appalled I was to see how my S3 Vorsprung was left ‘dumped’ on the side of the road after being in the possession of a Group 1 dealership. When I went into the dealership to ‘collect’ my car I asked the receptionist why my car was parked in the way it was. She replied “I don’t know” and walked away to speak to someone. At this point I was given dirty looks by the staff members being approached by the receptionist and observed muttering. When I was eventually approached about my issue with my vehicle, I was told “we parked it like that because there wasn’t anywhere to leave it, and we knew you were ‘on your way’. We usually leave customers’ cars parked along the road because we know they’re wanting to ‘get out’ quickly”. I responded that it simply was not good enough and then said I would be making a complaint about this. At this point the staff member replied with “please don’t fill out the survey. I will get someone to speak with you about your experience”. I spoke with one of the service managers, who although sat me down and was pleasant, was not able to accurately explain (and justify) why my car was parked the way it had been, and why the receptionists were so rude. Instead he mentioned how “surprised” he was, as “usually they receive positive feedback”. Furthermore despite being told to falsify a 5 star rating on the premise I gave the dealership the opportunity to undo the wrong, they ended up saying to me that they were not prepared to go further than an apology and asked me to fill out the survey in the way I see fit. The only reason I got my S3 vorsprung is because I had been an Audi fan for a long time. However after this experience, I will not be buying another Audi, and very much regret taking out a service plan with Whetstone Audi directly. As mentioned, I have been an Audi Fan all my life and this has changed that. I would strongly advise Group1 and Audi UK to investigate this site and customer service, and explain to me why this level of service is acceptable, by any stretch of the imagination.

First they booked me in for a headlight change but called me end of the day to say they dont have the headlight. When I booked a service on phone they confirmed I have one more service left on my free plan, When I took my car in after a week, the lady checking me in said I dont have any more service on my plan. No sorry, No apology. I have been going there for 4 years and that is my last time.

"Worst Audi Workshop"

Workshop experience only. Audi S1 2015. Had a clutch refused under warranty (35,000 miles). Replaced at my cost. 2 weeks later, the flywheel that had been changed fails and leaves me stuck on the side of the road. One year later, bring it for servicing, never asked for the spark plugs to be done (they had already been done a year prior by another Audi workshop) - not sure why this hadn't been seen given it's all on electronic file now - they try to replace spark plugs but cannot do it because the coil pack is too tight... When I pick up the Audi, they let me know only then that they had tried to replace them without success. 2 days later, the car misfires and they had actually damaged the coil pack they had not managed to remove when touching something they never should of in the first place. 5 months later and the car is misfiring again ... bringing it to another dealership as they could not see the car before mid October (?!) and in all honesty not sure I trust them to touch the car at all. Might have no connection with prior issues but given the overall experience... I'm pretty sure there is. 5th Audi and never had experiences poor service and so many issues with a workshop. AVOID
