Do NOT use this company. I purchased a used car from the Washington, Tyne and Wear branch of this company in February 2016 - the supposed valeting had obviously not been carried out as there were empty sweet wrappers in the driver's door pocket but that's a minor detail compared with what came shortly afterwards. Just a few weeks after my purchase the car stopped working as, our local garage mechanic discovered, the pipes from the power steering pump were corroded and leaking. I could not use the car at all for weeks. On contacting the motor company their immediate response was to try and say I was out of their 31 days guarantee. On being advised that people have statutory rights for 6 months they agreed that, as there was no way I could get the car to them, they would pay our local mechanic to carry out the repair -the payment was to be made by B.A.C.S. The repair was carried out but to date, 5 months later, Whitley Bay Motor Company have not paid our mechanic. We are now looking at taking this matter to the Small Claims Court but neither we, nor our local mechanic should have to be put to this trouble. I repeat, DO NOT USE WHITLEY BAY MOTOR COMPANY.

I purchased a Ford Fiesta from here and everything has been good other than the fact that I asked for the tyres to be changed due to them balding but all they did was swap them around. Other than that the car is good and I have had no further issues. I would recommend them.

Alright service form Whitley Bay can't complain! Wasn't bad at all. The cars are a little bit pricey but you get what you pay for. I would recommend this dealership.

I bought a convertible and found a moldy bowl in the hole where the roof is stored, I was promised a full service and valet, this wasn't done, the roof is molding. I've had the car 5 weeks and the Engine Management light is on. I am devastated about this as I was promised something completely different to what I got in term of service.
Free service before delivery did not happen, tyres were on their very last legs, cheap recycled auction cars, and thats putting it nicely. Frankly speaking I would avoid them.
BOB in response to Ivan
How do you no it was not serviced ? petrol or diesel we get this in my garage were people think there service has not been done, it has but if it is a diesel the oil would still stay black looking old,but what adds to the is lately in the last 15 years we only get asked by the customer to do the basic service i.e. OIL AND FILTER on a car which at one time would be every year now they get them done every 20000 miles + just to save money
I can't fault Whitley Bay Motors, I was delayed getting down to them and they were patient and understanding and held the car for me with no fuss. They were very helpful during the exchange and when I discovered a fault with the car they honored the warranty and arranged to have it fixed with a Jeep specialist. I'd certainly recommend them.

I bought a car from Whitley Bay Motors recently. Not a great experience. I was told everything was fine with the car and it wasn't until after the keys were handed over that I found out that there was an advisory on that the front brakes were thin on the MOT. Not a problem I thought, until two days later when when they were grinding metal on metal because the callipers had been seized on. Not only that, there was no mention of any advisory regarding the tyres. I had them inspected and one of them had 1.8mm tread left on it which is the legal minimum thus requiring it would need changing and the side walls were perished on all 4 tyres. One of the tyres was badly distorted which is seriously dangerous to drive because the inside structure of the tyre has been compromised. I shudder to think what would have happened if I had a high speed blow-out with my wife and child in the car with me. I shouldn't expect to have to spend 400 quid within 2 or three days to make sure my car is roadworthy when it is the legal obligation of the dealer to do just that. I always had the attitude that you take the rough with the smooth with second hand car dealers but this was ridiculous.
MOT tester in response to Unroadworhy Cars
Hi you misinform people by stauting the legal limit is 1.8mm it is in fact 1.6mm , also brake pads can only fail a MOT if the are below 1.5mm that is if the tester can measure them, but in the MOT centre i work we come across issue you state people should beware that the MOT is the least a car needs to be for it to be on the road. Hope this helps
Still upset in response to Unroadworhy Cars
Yes I do accept that if they would pass an MOT with the amount of tread which was on them. My issue is that there were no advisories on the new MOT they had carried out regarding the tread depth (which I had asked to see prior to collecting the car) . The big issue here as well is the distorted tyre which was badly damaged inside the side wall weakening the integrity of the tyre and endangering the safety of myself and my family. How can a distorted tyre pass an MOT? And at no point did I suggest that the brakes were illegal. My point is that the brakes were seized on. Surely if a car has had a full service two days before collection then there is no way that the brakes should be seized on? If the brakes hadn't been seized on I would not have had to spend money getting the discs replaced as well. Overall I fell I was deceived and the garage offered me no recompense in light of the problems I had within the first week of having the car.
Whitley bay motors were great, just the whole process from beginning to end was seamless and hassle free, the car is doing everything its supposed to do and I am confident even now that I got it for a fair price. Top marks for my review. 5 Stars.
