I would just like to say thank you for the way our recent car purchase was conducted. Joe, the salesperson, was a great representative for Volvo and the dealership - I liked the calm, personable & professional way he went through the process giving the required information and opportunity for me to ensure the car was the right choice for my specific requirements. Any issues were communicated clearly and promptly. I am very pleased with my choice and really enjoying the EX30.
Not impressed, bought our XC90, used, 3 months old but the first 1 year service I had a procession of sales people trying to sell me everything from enhanced warranty, piece of mind MOT (not due for another 2 years) etc. Just booked it in for the major 2 year service and now asked if I want my brake lines flushed, key fob changed and they'd added the timing belt onto the service (for a 20k mile car??). Told to remove this as not due until between 60 & 100k, Wish they'd stop the hard sell and just do what its booked in for. Wont use again after this service.

When an elderly relative became seriously ill some distance away, I urgently needed to change my car. My little city runaround left me feeling far too vulnerable among the juggernauts on busy A roads, and my back couldn’t handle the repeated long journeys in a seat without adjustments. Enter Rick at Stoneacre Volvo, who turned what could have been a stressful experience into something smooth, easy, and even enjoyable. I left a message late one evening, and by the next morning, Rick had arranged for a beautiful new XC40 to be brought to my door for a test drive. He patiently walked me through all the features I needed to know about and answered my endless questions with good humour. Nothing felt rushed. Rick also sent me a detailed specification, which made it easy to see exactly what I was getting—and it felt like everything I needed. The paperwork was handled quickly and efficiently, and even considering the urgency of my situation, the delivery was astonishingly fast. The whole process was stress-free from start to finish. The Stoneacre showroom itself was easy to find and a pleasant space to visit. There was plenty of coffee on offer, a choice of seating areas, privacy—even in the open-plan design—and no pressure to hurry. I arrived over an hour late to collect my car due to an unexpected emergency, and not only was this absorbed without a hint of irritation, even though it interrupted lunchtime, but my apology was waved off with warmth and understanding; a small thing, but it really stood out. As for the XC40? It’s a dream, really. It drives like a luxury car and feels solid and safe on the road. The seats are supportive and adjustable, which makes long journeys far more manageable for my back, and the cabin is calm and quiet. The touchscreen is easy to navigate, and some features—like the ability to use apps while parked—are surprisingly handy. It’s the first car I’ve owned where the driver assistance systems make sense and genuinely feel helpful. How it manages to be so advanced yet straightforward to use, I have no idea, but I’m enjoying finding out. I couldn’t have asked for more. The only downside is that I didn’t find this car sooner. That you can get a car like this on Motability feels like a well-kept secret. Deposits can vary, but at the moment this car (with a choice of trims) has lower deposits than many other, less impressive SUV options. If you’re looking for a practical yet stylish SUV that’s a joy to drive, I can’t recommend the XC40 enough. And if you’re lucky enough to deal with Rick, at Stoneacre, you’ll be in excellent hands. Five stars—for everything.

Having purchased many cars from Stoneacre Volvo, Lincoln, it’s always nice to see many familiar faces who recognise me as a regular. When my circumstances changed following retirement & bereavement, Rick was there to help me find the right vehicle for me at that time. Two years later he was there again for me & found a newer version with all the ‘must haves’ & tirelessly helped me through all the tasks & decisions I now have to take alone. He did so without rush but with knowledge & experience. All being well I’ll be back again in another two years & hope that Rick is still at Lincoln to guide me through with his patient attitude & I know I can trust him to find me the right car again. Thank you Stoneacre, Lincoln & Rick especially for your kindness & tireless endeavours on my behalf.
I can only advise that you look elsewhere. I bought a beautiful V60 here and had a few bits done to the car. When I went to collect the car I found some sticky gunk on a rear light. Peeling it off I found a cracked light - definitely not there when I test drove and purchased. I was told it would be sorted and was booked in. When I went to collect it I was told ‘sorted could mean many things, we checked it and it’s ok’. Yes but still had a big visible crack. A lot of arguing later it was replaced as first promised. I also had the paint protection. The car wasn’t totally clean when this was done - which resulted in dirt being sealed in. I also purchased a 2 year service plan that was meant to start on collection. They started it a week early and gave the car a service. This made it look like I’d had one of my two services. Verbally I was told it’ll be fine but nobody would put it in writing. Within a week or two of getting the car I asked for a refund but was refused. I was so unwilling to deal with Stoneacre and the shine had been taken off the car that I sold it at a significant loss and went elsewhere. Recommend Marshall’s Volvo at Grantham instead!
