Part exchanged an Astra J back in May at Evans Halshaw Vauxhall in Bedford for a 66 plate Astra k I seemed to fall out with salesman as I didn’t need to know about finance he got cross as said he had to explain it I said I didn’t need it so no point in going over it. He left the table and his manager came over to speak to me talk about telling tales! On collection he showed me where the car was and gave me the key he didn’t even come to the car to check I was ok with it. Not impressed. Then I noticed the tracking was out so got it independently checked they told me one of the front tyres was worn and illegal. I contacted EH and they eventually sent me a cheque without seeing my bill. The car then developed a fault the engine management light was on they couldn’t find the fault after a week. ( I was given a courtesy car) I said I need a reliable car so had to change it this was after 2 months. I was limited to what Astra’s they had in my price range which was the total value of what I had already paid. The second car was an 18 plate 1.4 without the turbo seemed ok on test drive but in reality absolutely dangerous as no power at all quite often nothing under the accelerator made pulling away from junctions very hesitant and dangerous. I was lucky enough to have a personal contact there where she gave me her number if I had any problems I called her and said I have to change cars again. Back I went this time the car a 68 plate 1.0 turbo cost me an extra £1300 but they let me off the £99 admin charge! while looking around it in the rain following a test drive the chap I saw first who I fell out with was bringing out a car for someone to test drive he drove past me at speed through a puddle and drowned me. I was so angry I told the lady what he’d done. Pleased with this car I drove home over the next few weeks I noticed I couldn’t reverse in it, it was like it was running on kangaroo juice I let the lady know who said bring it back. I persevered with it until one day I couldn’t reverse it without great difficulty so went back to Bedford the lady drove it out of the space and back in and said it’s fine. I said I asked you to reverse it up the roadway in the car park which she tried to do and couldn’t. She agreed there was a problem and took it straight into the workshop. I was so cross with her that I’m afraid I did shout at her as I didn’t care for her attitude. Almost in tears over all of this she arranged for my car to be collected from home and I was given an Astra to drive. The car was repaired under the warranty it involved the gearbox coming out. I was told they’d driven another 1.0 and it was the same. Looks like a recall will be happening for other drivers! There is no way that they check their cars they take them as part ex and sell them on again as my 2 other cars were sitting on their forecourt. This isn’t the first time I’ve had problems with Vauxhall’s why do I stay with them I like the cars and wouldn’t know what else to buy. My 53 plate vectra was the best 10 years 200,000 miles and never let me down. If I’ve learnt one thing fight for what’s right otherwise they will fob you off. Told it could happen even with a new car but then it would only be me driving it this car had been driven 13,000 miles!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately I purchased a vehicle from Evans Halshaw Vauxhall Bedford which is full of incompetence and self denial, even the management The vehicle was returned after 2 days for bald tyres and severely worn brake pads on a 2017 car. No courtesy car offered , a 2 hour job took 5 days. Obviously no checks done on vehicle before it was sold, no update calls regarding when car would be ready for collection..Calls made at close of business to say car would not be ready today but we will call tomorrow to update you, one update as mentioned in 5 days. The final straw was when i asked to speak to the director or as he put it im the man in charge it took him a while even to apologise and then he had the audacity to say when you are in possession of the log book, bring it in and I will refund you your money.This is what we are dealing with , we have your money we will not compensate you in any way even though they are at fault. This aftersales service operation from the top to the bottom is a shambles.

Value my car kia sportage 2017 through website for 15835 pound and asking in email id, v5 and proof of address. When I arrived at Evans Halshaw in Bedford the customer executive come outside and test the car named jurij kouac and drove the car at 80 miles on 30 miles per hour and such a scary moment. Who will pay if police stop me or make an accident when drive erratically. After that they knock down price for usual marks 15545 and i accept offer. Then they say you bought car less than a year so need an invoice for the car when i purchased 10 months ago which never asked on email. I feel they just wanted to give price but dont want to buy the product and wanna waste time. I just walk away after waste my time. Never ever again

Brought a car last week 9th feb driving home and car went into limp mode nearly got a lorry smash into us took the car back the response was absolutely disgusting asking whether we had out right fuel in. They should not be able to sell cars like that its a death trap when chasing up my money i wanted back they were very rude and disrespectful I wouldn’t recommend Evan halshaw Vauxhall Bedford to anyone unless you want a poor excuse for a car!!!

Would not recommend Evans Halshaw Vauxhall Bedford. 3rd issue with my car that was purchased last November. Cost me money in petrol getting it there and back to be fixed, cost me money in taking time off work due to having no car! Customer service is non non existent! Appalling actually! Please don’t buy a car from this dealership all they want is your money once they get that they don’t have time for you.

The service was fine until Evans Halshaw Vauxhall Bedford had my money. Problems after that were an inconvenience to them. E mails not responded to , always busy with customers when you call. Even an e mail tithe principal doesn't seem to merit a response.

I originally visited this dealership twice in Summer 2014 to view and buy cars that they then decided they did not want to sell (after accepting deposits). More recently, I was looking for a used car and saw a particularly well priced model at this dealership. I debated whether to give this place another go based on my previous poor experiences, but relented as I really liked the car. On my initial visit to test drive the car, service was generally good. I paid a deposit and signed relevant paper work including a finance agreement. I also agreed to Part-ex my old car for £400. I was told they would 'give' me a warranty and Gardx coating - it was never made clear there would be extra costs for these, so I agreed. I live 40 minutes away, so it is fairly convenient, but I wasn't impressed when the salesman demanded I come back the following day to sign more paper work. I had to rush there after a full day at work - which I live an hour away from - pick up kids from nursery and then on to Bedford. Signed 2 forms and was sent on my way. I was told I could pick the car up on a Friday evening (inconvenient due to reasons mentioned above) but the salesman would not let me come on the weekend so I agreed. I booked a half day at work so I would be able to get there in time and then half way through my journey home, the salesman cancelled the pick up and said the finance was not in (which I don't believe based in the dates on my finance agreement), so we had to do it Saturday instead. He was pretty rude about it and on the day, made a real point of telling me it was his day off, even though it looked very much like he was there working to me....he did not care about the inconvenience he had caused me. I had to sign yet more paper work and it was at this point I noticed the invoice totalling £1000 more than I was buying the car for. Basically that was thanks to all the extras the salesman added without informing me. I couldn't be bothered to argue, as I sure he would deny his original wording, but I was livid. Two weeks later and I still don't have my refundable deposit back either, I will NEVER go back to this place.

Had a test drive booked in for 12pm today, drove from Reading, which they knew. They sold it the day before and not one person thought it would be a good idea to contact me. No they let me drive 2 hours to get there, then when I arrived took my name and said oh yes you have came from Reading, take a seat I will get the person who has been allocated to you. Waited for round 5 minutes, then the same man came back and said I have some bad news, the said it had been sold, I asked when, and he then said yesterday. I asked why no one had contacted me and he said well I haven't been involved with this car. Where is the communication between work colleagues and was just plain disrespectful to my daughter and myself. Wanted to give no stars it wouldn't let me.

I had an appointment today but went in early as i was in town , I wait around for 40 mins no one even acknowledged my existence probably because i was a man in my 30s not a women and not an elderly couple all of who got a welcome , When i managed to catch a sales man to ask a if i could be seen he point at his watch and said with an attitude your early and we are all busy , when i asked why i had not even been acknowledged he spoke to me like i was something he stepped in , I my self am a motor trade professional and this company gives us all a bad name AVOID Evans Halshaw Bedford Vauxhall at all costs !!!

went there to view a car. Helpful lady took me over to see two salesmen, both of whom said they were 'busy' with other customers. I was told to wait in seating area. Waited 10 mins and noticed that the two salesmen who had been approached earlier were in fact 'busy' having their sandwiches and talking to their mates in the shop. I walked out. It seems I was the lucky one, looking at the reviews of Evans Halshaw and Bedford in particular, they are a business best avoided. How can I give negative stars for everything?
