I purchased a used Mercedes A-Class, was assured that it would sail through it's MOT. Turns out Geoff Hall had sold me a car and let me test drive it with a passenger and let me drive it home on a motorway with faulty rear break. No regard for people's safety and Geoff Hall was very rude to the MOT garage that I had taken the car too. Stay well clear

In response to your 1 star review, the car you purchased from us had two issues that under normal circumstances would have been addressed pre sale however due to a family issue, which you were aware of, I was unable to get the car MOT'd before sale so it was agreed that the car would be mot 'd locally by a garage of your choice. It subsequently failed on two points, the screen washers not providing enough screen wash and one rear brake being not adjusted up so there was brake imbalance on the rear brakes which was not noticeable at all during any test drives so was unexpected. These were items that were easy to address and of course it was both unexpected and disappointing that it failed an MOT. However the garage you used for the MOT clearly gave you the impression that the failures were terrible. they were very rude and clearly had an agenda. as they were not keen to give us the brake roller readings, initially just describing the brakes as "well they were sh**" mate " and yet had no readings that they could give us initially which last time I checked ""sh** "was not a technical term...we specifically asked for the readings when we spoke with them they initially could not give them. To put this into perspective the A Class was 20 years old, had a full service history and excellent previous service history and had been driven by us over 200 miles and was a one owner car, it was not our intention to, and never has been to supply any car with defects and we attempted to resolve these for you when we were but overall the faults were minor and easy to resolve and the car with respect was some 20 years old, we accept the rear brake imbalance was something we had not been aware of, if we had we would have dealt with this before it went out as it was a simple adjustment and the screen washers just required fresh screen wash and a low through with an airline, these worked fine when we tested the car however they had become partially blocked with old screen wash that had thickened.. To describe me as having no care for peoples safety is your opinion but not one I agree with nor all the 5* reviews we have. We arranged to collect the car and have these items addressed however you refused so we bought the car back and collected it from you, which you made very difficult. It should be noted as soon as the car was back it was taken to a different MOT station and booked in for the adjustments prior to testing and after the rear brake was adjusted and the screen wash was flushed through the car passed it's mot straight away and was immediately sold, the new owner having no complaints at all.
