After being Recommended by a family member I Felt extremely welcome from all the team at Botley Car Centre. Very happy with my purchase and will most definitely be visiting again.
What nice people to deal with. Th team made us feel very welcome from the start, no pushy salesmanship, honest and fair with the price. Would highly recommend Botley Car Centre and will be buying again from them soon! Thank you guys!
Bought a car from Botley Car Centre, I found them very professional and honest. Had a problem a couple of months after buying but was sorted at their cost. Will definitely be back for my next car! James.
PLEASE NOTE: This is personal experience of Botley Car Centre. I am not accusing anyone of cheating or lying. I bought this car exactly a year ago, to the day if I remember correctly (7/5/18). I wanted to give it enough time to leave a review and a year I think it appropriate. Everything seemed great. MOT completely clean. 1 owner. Small local service done. Everything checked and cleared. I was told that any problems and bring the car back, we will repair it and lend you a car. We this was great and a selling point for me. 2 days later the weather changed and we had a massive heat wave and so I found out that the Aircon does not work. I have to return the car; it will stay there until they can get it fixed. No promise of when but, was told they use a mobile repairperson and he comes whenever they arrange it. It took a month to be done. In addition, I had to keep driving the car in the blistering heat with my toddler suffering in the back as no lend car was available and then was eventually fixed in my driveway. The guy is mobile and yet it took a month to arrange. I was promised a lend car and even though the whole yard is over flowing with cars, nothing was available. Things that happened in the following months. They seemed to come and go The back brake light stays on. After the car is turned off and I walked away the brake light is still on. The alarm started going off by itself for no reason while car was parked (windows closed). The windows after winding itself up it seems the window motor keeps running even tho the window is closed and only stops after the key is pulled out. Window don’t work when more than 1 is opened… I reported this and was told to bring it in. When I tried booking a date I was told there is no lend car and I will have to go without transport… this is not an option for me. Therefore, we agreed that I would keep using the car until a date is set. Eventually I tried again about the issues and was told that the warrantee does not cover these items… My turbo started cutting out when putting my foot down to join lanes on the motor way. Obviously, you have to speed up the join the traffic and the car was cutting out, going into limp mode. I could not drive on the motorway because of this and it happened on the way to the airport. I figured out that after the key is turned off and on again the issue resolved itself until I had to put my foot down again. I phoned them from the airport to report the problem. They said to bring it back and not to drive it… it will void the warrantee… I’m at the airport with a car full of family… I drove it back. We arranged for them to take the car in and again, no car was available. I had to rent a car to leave this there and at the end got told, it is a boost pipe an, it is not covered either. So far, only the aircon was dealt with in the first month… everything else was made my own problem MOT that came with the car was completely clean. I took it in 7 month later, and what a surprise. Loads of rust reports. Issues with ball joints. Emissions failure. I cannot believe that so much goes wrong, in 7 months… it ridiculous. I felt cheated like this MOT given with the car was fabricated by someone that they know who runs a MOT service centre… A few weeks ago the fan stopped working. I now have to deal with that as well. I am very disappointed. I paid £4500 for this car and looking at all this it sure was not worth it. The lend car was a gimmick from my experience and I wish I went somewhere else.

My daughter bought her first car Peugeot 206 from BOTLEY car Centre 10 years ago and it's been a good runner ever since. When she bought it the heating fan was making an horrendous noise. BCC had the car back , stripped out the dash - sorted the problem out. That's a big job. - I am semi retired now - before Christmas I wanted a good quality car for a low price, as I don't do much mileage now, I went for a high mileage BMW , Bought a 10-year-old BMW 318i from BCC on an impulse purchase. Had it professionally inspected after I paid for it. Had no idea that BMW 3 series on the N47 power unit has a design fault, namely the timing chain can stretch / break after 65,000 miles. Certainly on its way after 100,000 miles. It sounded like a bag of bolts when starting from cold - Rob said get it back in we will sort that. Although it took a week - I was offered replacement vehicle that I had for a couple of days. It's a massive job engine out -it would be a > £2,000 retail repair price from a BMW franchise. When it was returned smooth as silk, I still found a few niggling problems, leaking oil differential, and a bulb out ( This is an old car ) - was now worried about five months MOT , Rob said will do a years MOT for you - would have done the bulb myself couldn't find it. The differential needed removing 3 new oil seals and replacement oil. Back for another few days, offered replacement vehicle, said no thanks as I didn't need one. Just picked it up with full valet nice & shiny - looking new everything working and one year MOT. If you live locally it's worth supporting BCC. However I do understand if you live tens of miles away with a potential problem - that could prove inconvenient. However if you're patient and reasonable with them they'll be patient with you, - sorting every issue you raise. Of course if you buy a car that is a few years old you probably wouldn't have any issues in the first place. - Very happy can't recommend BCC strongly enough. Thanks Rob and Ian

Drove one hour, after calling by phone and making appointment at Botley Car Centre. On arrival, the car we were to test drive was blocked in! And they had no keys for the car blocking it in. Suggested I leave deposit on car, then could take it for an hour or so, when car was free! Wasted time and money.

Hi Derek, It has been a pleasure dealing with you and your family for many years, we appreciate your business and welcome you back any time even if it's for a coffee! Rob
I have had a tough year with cars. Both mine and my husbands cars had died within the space of 2 months. After getting a hire car, this left me little time to find another car. My husband found the advert for a Ford Focus 2009 plate, coupe. I rang up and asked if it was possible to view and test drive the car, I was informed that the car had alot of interest. Don't blame them it only had 19K on the clock! Anyway, I rushed down there straight away and had a warm greeting from a sales man called Ian. From the start he was great! Explained about the car, then gave me the keys and said "don't rush, drive it as long as you need". Well even before the test drive I was sold. I came back and discussed more things about the car with Ian. He showed me how to work parts of the car (I have never had anything as fancy before). Ian and the other members of staff were so helpful in my process that I put my deposit down almost straight away. Kept in constant contact with me and my husband, which was so reassuring. I felt no pressure with buying my car, compared to other deals I had seen the day before. The whole process from test drive to taking the car home was 3 days. That's including putting a brand new MOT on it for me. And he even offered me a car to borrow with them if my car took longer than expected. As a student nurse that was relief. Admitantly I haven't had the car long enough to pass a judgement on it yet. However, I don't have any doubts that it will! I just want to say thank you for helping me when I was in desperate need. Ford Focus 2009 bought for £4k in Dec 2017. CD player did not work informed them of this fact 5 days after I picked car up, it took 2 months to source another one where the Bluetooth then didn't work, couple weeks later finally one was sourced and eureka all working! I also discovered a couple of chunks in tyre wall on drivers side which was replaced by a reconditioned tyre and have since found out by contacting CAB that it should have been replaced like for like. I also found a couple of teething problems reverse light bulb hanging down, 12v sockets not working which I haven't bothered mentioning as appalled at the after care service of just taking too long to return calls & not keeping you informed. Last week I had an "engine malfunction" message appear I rang the car centre & spoke to rob who advised me to check the oil & water knowing full well this would have nothing to do with it...but went ahead and did it anyway... yep nothing wrong with oil or water levels. My car went into a local garage for diagnosis and have been told that it is the glow plugs and that it was down to wear and tear and not covered by any warranty. While I can accept that this is not their fault a goodwill gesture of some sort of payment towards the bill would have been warmly received by myself. I certainly wasn't expecting to pay out on the car 3 months down the line. My last car was a bit of a white elephant and a money pit I'm praying that this is not going to be the same with this one.

Robert sanders from Botley Car Centre in response to Initial dealings were good.
This sale has been difficult from start to finish to be honest... Tyre passed an MOT before collection. We have a good source for second hand tyres so to keep the customer happy we replaced it. The tyre was legal but the worst out of all 4 tyres. (note that the car is 10 years old). Also we do not need to fit a new tyre to any of our second hand cars by law. CD player went wrong after a while, This is not an item covered under the warranty but eventually we found one on eBay and fitted it for them, again at our cost. 3 months later the car was still driving fine but a light came on the dash. We recommended the customer going direct to one of our garages for diagnoses and repair. Unfortunelty the glowplugs are not covered under the warranty but as the 4th one would not remove from the engine (head) we offered to go halves with the customer on the parts and labour (roughly £300 each). Customer has decided to take us to the small claims court which is looking like it is going to go in our favour. We do not feel we could have done any more for this customer. Robert Sanders Director
