Bought a car recently from this dealer,the car was filly inside the salesman said if we wanted it cleaning we would have to pay £150 they said this included washing the car 5 days insurance and limited AA or rac can’t remember which one we said we’ve got insurance and rac so we don’t need it they said you will still have to pay the £150 we refused and said we will leave it then they then agreed to clean inside the vehicle which they did but my 5 year old son could of done a better job the salesman also said that because we weren’t getting finance of them and paying cash it was a wast of time selling us the car as they weren’t making any money.they even tried to intimidate us please avoid

*** PLEASE READ IF A NEW CUSTOMER OR CUSTOMER LOOKING TO PURCHASE FROM CARSHOP*** I really really don’t advise any new driver, experienced driver or literally anyone who are interested in purchasing a car to visit CarShop, specifically the Doncaster branch but I’m sure the service is as bad at any of their locations if all their morals are the same. Miss selling me OPTIONAL extras with the car and also miss selling the fact that there was a brand new clutch fitted shortly before I purchased the car as i complained a few days after bringing the car home because of the severe crunching when changing gears. I was told to bring my car in, the guy who helped me came out to my car in the car park drove the car back out of the bay and forward back into the parking bay and that was it😂, i have since been told this was a test drive?? I’m sorry but on what earth? There and then I was re assured that there was no major issue, just that the clutch was new and in needed to push the clutch to the ground and wear it in. Naive me believed this. (I have since been told when I visited the store on 13/03/20 that there actually WASN’T a new clutch fitted, basically admitting to being Miss sold..) I contacted the store a few days after purchasing the car back in 2019 to express my concerns with the extras of GaurdX & the three year warranty as I was not made aware these were added, please be aware that this took my price up by nearly £1000 I believe, for someone who doesn’t have that money on hand so easily it’s quite important to know what you’re buying, which I clearly wasn’t told about. I was then invited into store to adjust the payment, I also remember being treated as if it was my mistake and decided to change my mind when in fact that wasn’t the case at all, these were added without my consent. The payment for the warranty was taken off and I was sent a cheque shortly after which I appreciated. However with the GuardX, a manager needed to contact me since the spray had already been applied to the car since visiting the branch not even 24 hours before, so this apparently needed to be disputed. I received no phone call and it was left at that because I thought they couldn’t help me because it was already applied, even though I was not made aware this extra is optional. In all honesty I was made to feel like my issues were burdening which shunned my confidence in contacting them again for the 4th-5th time. Since I took my car in on Friday the 13th of March 2020 as the technician who dealt with my MOT told me the car is unsafe to drive and the clutch is on its way out and when I told them it was a new clutch when I bought the car back in April 2019, I was told this was very unlikely. I have since been fobbed off by CarShop and told I would be contacted via phone to discuss this the next day. Instead I was contacted three days later via email fobbing me off AGAIN. So anyone who is looking for a working car, someone who is looking to be sold a car with good intentions and to be told everything they’re purchasing then PLEASE avoid the CarShop. This is now financially detrimental to myself, detrimental to my job as I use the car to travel there and back most days and I am left feeling unsafe in as I’ve been told by Halfords that basically the clutch is due to go at any time. I am stuck with this car on finance for five years. There’s even a previous review from myself in April 2019 due to the customer service alone as a woman was deeply rude to me when I visited store and in no way helped me look for a car, instead got very cocky towards me when I decided to come back another day. You’d expect new, young drivers to put their faith in such well known company’s like CarShop to be sold something with good intentions and NOT just those extra digits on their pay check.

we purchased our 3rd car from the car shop and have been delighted with them all but today was exceptional as Joe the salesman was absolutely fabulous he was polite efficient very helpful from the moment we walked into the premises, he allowed us to look round the cars without any pressure. and it was a pleasure to buy a car off him congratulation Joe would recommend you to everyone

Have never felt as pressurised when buying a car. The online part ex quote means nothing. We had this revised to a lower amount. We decided to go ahead with a purchase and it was obvious the expectation which was never our intention was that we complete everything and take the car that day. We declined to complete same day but signed paperwork, left a deposit and returned home. We then received a call and within the advice was that if we could not return to complete that day the trade in price could not be guaranteed. We have visited twice, neither occasion being a good Customer Service experience. Today we gave up, walked away and requested a deposit refund. Customers buy from dealerships in the belief they will amongst other things receive good after sales service. Should you choose to buy from here don't count on it, you will be on your own.

We bought a car early Jan 2020. the sales team were good at their job. Having previously bought cars from "The Car People" who were bought out by the car shop we felt secure in a purchase. The after sales has been VERY POOR and we will not return to this franchise.

its a bit of a mixed bag is the car shop doncaster , ive bought several cars from them , the thing i like is the cars are generally good quality and at the right price, the bad side is you see what you get and you must make sure that there is a service book with the car along with tyre inflation kits and mats, - generally everything that should be there at the point of purchase...if it isnt then dont even bother asking after you have driven away, they wont be interested. Also , get used to the fact that they will automatically add the price of the silly gard X rip off treatment (299!) plus 20 for MOT's (yes- mots for 20 IF you get your car 'serviced' there at an inflated price, they wont point these costs out unless you notice them on the screen when they show you the price. All in all, i know how they work and personally will probably continue to buy from them but not without fully checking the car and making sure everything is there before i drive off

If I could give less than 1 star I would! Bought a car from the carshop doncaster site in feb 2019, within 2 weeks of getting it I went out to go to work and it wouldn't start rang site and they sent a technician out to assess. Told it had some sort of 'parasitic drain' and they would need to take it in to look at. They had it 3 days and said it was the glow plugs and they replaced them free (I should think so when I had only had car for 2 weeks!). Got car back and about 4 weeks later the stop start function came up as an error and wouldn't work. They sent tech out again who said battery was basically 'knackered' I rang and spoke to a manager and told them how disgusting it all was and she said there was nothing they could do a battery wasnt covered and they wouldn't even help as a good will gesture I was told it would be £210 for them to replace BUT she assured me from the tests they had run it would be fine for daily use just the start stop wouldn't work. 3 months later came to start my car and it wouldn't start !!! I rang up they said if they were to do anything i would have to get it recovered to them and they would assess again but with it being out of warranty they would charge!!! My dad replaced my battery and touch wood all seems fine but I'm telling you now they knew the car had a dodgey battery from the start, so all this about all the safety and running checks they do is a load of rubbish ! But what's finally topped it off is it just went back for its first MOT, one where the cost was covered in the purchase price so no on the day fee, and they failed it! On a 'bald' front tyre they quoted £71 + VAT and free retest or get work done elsewhere and £10 for a retest. Brought car away and went to a registered tyre fitting company and they said 'NO WAY was the trye a fail!! Rang up to complain and all I got was 'each technician has their own guidelines ' what sort of response is that when it's the difference between a pass or fail! In my opinion the company is a complete joke very unhelpful and deceitful. Anything for a quick sale once they have your money they dont care. DO NOT BUY FROM CAR SHOP DONCASTER !!!
